Quote of the Week

Word to the wise--don't go into ranty monologues. It distracts you from such vital details like the fact that a certain Eyrie has just sprinkled some sleeping powder into your Islandberry Smoothie.

Unsung Neopian Heroes

While taking a few trips around Neopia, I decided to write some notes on some of the unsung workers, who diligently take the time to serve you and your neopets' enjoyment. Although it was impossible to include everyone, I chose five Neopians who seem to be taken for granted by many of us every day, but who never seem to complain or have a bad word to say about anybody, but instead diligently work away to make Neopia a better place for everyone to live. After all, without them, where would we be today?

Applesick

For thousands of years, throughout the history of Neopia, pets have been falling victim to the Malus domestica's awful children. Yes, my young neopets, I am referring to The Apple. The dangerous substance can be purchased and traded in almost every food market in Neopia. Even the Advent Calendar ventured to give out apples several days in a row. "That dress seems to be the hot commodity of the season - it's faerie made, you know - it floated down straight from the clouds of Faerieland's Imperial Design Studio, brought in by Fyora's tailors themselves..."

"Devotion" by punctuation_ninja
Lisa jutted her lip out in a fierce glare. She had a bigger temper than I did, and bullies rarely fazed her. "Well, that's just tough luck then, ain't it?" she said. Bruiser's face flattened into a snarl and he shoved Lisa backwards. She fell to the ground, and started to cry. I tried to jump at Bruiser to claw him. I must have looked ridiculous, a pint-sized brown Kougra fighting a Moehog eight times my size...

"The Mystery of the Disappearing Socks" by mezvi_the_shnooky
Hilly heaved a sigh, stood up and looked over the socks laid out on the floor. There were no matches. Single socks simply spread out on the sunshine yellow floor. Socks of all colors, stripes, spots and polka dots. There was a yellow sock with purple dots and a purple sock with yellow dots, a bright rainbow striped and a dark rainbow stripe, but no match. The poor socks were simply alone...
