Quote of the Week

These new Neopets (Neo-Neopets?) satisfied many wants and desires: for instance, the Xweetok satisfied our need for something so adorable you could vomit Sugarbunnies, while the Gnorbu gave us something whose fur we could shear, a long-time personal goal for myself, I assure you.

Neopian Times: 350!

The Neopian Times has been out since almost the beginning of the Neopets journey. Neopets was released on the 15th of November of 1999; just 71 days after its release, a bare two months; the Neopian Times was released on January 25th, 2000. It came out before the release of many memorable events in Neopian history, including trading cards, Lupes, Elephantes, Peophins, the Soup Kitchen, the Neopian Hospital, and even the Caption Competition. In fact, by the time Mr. Insane released NeoQuest, the Neopian Times had been up and running for almost a whole year! This means it has been documenting...

Want To Be a Writer?

The story goes through any number of drafts until it has been refined from a story that perhaps wasn't very good into a story that readers will want to read and remember. If you've never written a story before, you might be wondering how one actually writes a story. Quite simply, there is no simple answer. No one waves a magic wand, no one gets put under the spell of an inspired Faerie—they just write. For some, this begins with a few words that blossom into an adventure; but for others, this can be a struggle to capture complex ideas in meaningful words. You see, writing itself is the process of...

Altador Cup: Good Sportsmanship

For most people this is a nice experience, but unfortunately some people take the competition too seriously. They can start to talk in a bad language to people from other teams, or badmouth the other teams. Make sure you are not one of these people, as the Altador Cup is not about dividing people because of their team! The purpose of the Cup is for people from all over Neopia to meet and be friends no matter what world/team they come from...

"350 Days Of My Deepest Desires" by ayame_23
"Feel free to go. I'll see you again tonight after sunset," Nyx addressed his lamp. The purple fish peered up at him with gratitude, and, in a fluid motion, its large mouth closed, sealing away its rather sharp-looking teeth, and its light blinked out. With that, the small creature turned and swam off, disappearing through Nyx's home as it swam for the door. Nyx waited until his lamp had vanished from view, and then he released a sigh. He didn't bother to turn and try plumping up his pillowfish again...

"Linger" by wicked_summer
My name is Ghost, and I'm a ghost. I'm the kind of person who doesn't believe in complicating matters needlessly. I'm also the kind of person who likes to skulk around in old (and structurally unsound) buildings, giving myself the appearance of a monster (with feathers, I like feathers) and giving newcomers to the Deserted Tomb a good scaring. Hey, when you've been dead as long as I have, you learn to take your laughs where you can. Precious few things in life (sorry, death) are things that you can laugh at. That is...

"Three Hundred and Fifty Years of Knowledge" by imogenweasley
He was the Brain Tree. Strange as it may sound, the only mystery he had never been able to completely unveil had to do with himself. He knew nothing of his own origin. He knew how old he was and the date of his birthday with the help of complicated calculations, but the reason behind his existence and the source of his intelligence were unknown, even to him. Sometimes, when he racked his brain and tried to force the earliest memory he could remember...
