NeoQuest II - The Guide To The Bosses

by rowena351

--------

NEOQUEST - For starters, you should know that there are four optional bosses in NeoQuest II. In this guide, you will learn what it takes to beat all the bosses and some hint and tips along the way. The four optional bosses are the Miner Foreman, Leximp, Hubrid Nox, and Meuka. So, let's get started!

Boss #1- Miner Foreman - Not particularly hard to beat. This is an optional boss. Suggested level: 5 Suggested items: healing potions

Boss #2- Zombom - Blast potions are helpful here. Don’t even consider Flare potions, because Rohane can usually attack in that range anyways. Zombom can hit around 31 damage so come with as many potions as you can. Suggested level:12 Suggested items: healing potions, blast potions

Boss #3- Sand Grundo- Now that you have Mipsy, battles should be a little easier. Mipsy should cast direct damage and Rohane should just do a regular attack. Mipsy is your main offense. Suggested Level: 13 Suggested items: healing potions

Boss #4- Ramtor (castle)- Good news: you only have to take off about 1/3 or 1/2 of his health then he flees. Bad news: when you battle again, he is fully healed. Ramtor can also heal in battle too. Think offensively, not defensively. Don’t use a potion unless you absolutely have to. This battle should be fairly short. Suggested level: 19 Suggested items: none

Boss #5- Ramtor (tower)- This time, you have to kill Ramtor. Use slowing potions if you want to. But think offensively as well. One of your party members could die before a slowing potions works because they are not 100% accurate. But it’s your call. Don’t use all of your potions because there is still another boss before you can restock on them. Damage potions can also work here but they are not suggested. From now on, Mipsy should always attack with spells and Rohane with regular damage. Suggested level: 21 Suggested items: healing potions, slowing potions, blast potions

Boss #6- Leximp- He can be somewhat tricky to beat. He resists most of Mipsy’s magic attacks and he hits impressively. Just keep attacking and healing if you need to. Again, slowing/hasting/blast potions are up to you. He is an optional boss. Suggested level: 22 Suggested items: healing potions

Boss #7- Kolvars- For me he wasn’t particularly difficult to beat. It’s harder getting there than actually fighting him. By now you will have three party members, so battles will go even quicker. He hastens himself a lot but seldom hits you. Suggested level 25 Suggested items: healing potions

Boss #8- Scuzzy- If you can get to him, you can beat him. Use slowing potions then attack like you normally would. Carry some reviving potions because Mipsy can go down really easily and that’s bad. Suggested level: 30 Suggested items: slowing/hastening potions, healing potions, resurrection potions

Boss #9- Siliclast- Don’t use any potions before you get to him, go to a city/town instead. With all the battles, you can afford it. Potions are becoming much more expensive. Siliclast is resistant to magic and hits respectively hard. Heal often, hasten your party and slow down Siliclast. You may actually want to over train. He’s tough. Suggested level: 33 Suggested items: slowing/hastening potions, healing potions, resurrection potions

Boss #10- Gebarn II- Use your regular battle technique. Being able to stun is also a handy tool. He can hit hard and heal. So keep your party’s status high. Heal as much as possible -- and attack sometimes too. Have at least one member hitting and one healing every turn. What you do with the other is up to you. Suggested level: 34 Suggested items: slowing/hastening potions, healing potions, resurrection potions

Boss #11- The Revenant- This Kougra is the easiest battle you’ll encounter in the Lost Desert. His little skeleton minions can be annoying so you may want to kill them off first but when the Revenant dies, they will too. Use Velm to heal your party almost every turn. Suggested level: 35 Suggested items: slowing/hastening potions, healing potions, resurrection potions

Boss #12- Coltzan’s Ghost- From now on use the first two turns hastening your party and slowing your opponent (and let Velm heal if necessary). When ever a slowing/hastening potions starts to wear off, chuck another one. Mipsy, Rohane and Talinia should always attack and Velm should always heal. Mostly he doesn’t hit hard. Just keep your health high and this should be no problem. Suggested level: 37 Suggested items: slowing/hastening potions, healing potions, resurrection potions

Boss #13- Anubits- Use the same battle strategy as Coltzan’s Ghost. Keep your health up and don’t let a party member die. Hasten the party, slow down the boss. You know the drill. Getting to Anubits was harder than actually beating him if you’ve come prepared. Suggested level: 40 Suggested items: slowing/hastening potions, healing potions, resurrection potions

Boss #14- Meuka- He is an optional boss, although I highly recommend fighting him or else you will be under trained for the next area and will be dead before you can say “Oh no, I’m dead.” Use the same battle strategy as all those times before. Suggested level: 41 Suggested items: slowing/hastening potions, healing potions, resurrection potions

Boss #15- Spider Grundo- The first challenging boss. If you had trouble before him, get your butt back onto the training ground, because you aren’t ready for him. The bosses just get harder and harder from here and you seriously don’t want to be under trained. Stick with your regular battle plan. Velm heals. Talinia, Mipsy and Rohane attack. Suggested level: 44 (at least) Suggested items: slowing/hastening potions, healing potions, resurrection potions

Boss #16- The Four Faeries- I will walk you through this one step by step. Rest with Auger Faunt if you don’t, it’s a LONG journey back from Shadow Gulch. Stock up on potions of all kinds. You should actually spend most of your money on potions here because is you lose, you loose half of your gold. And if you’re out of potions, you’re as good as dead. Remember you are up against four bosses, not one. The best strategy is to kill the faeries one by one starting with the weakest. Kill the fire faerie first because she is the weakest. When she’s gone, kill the dark faerie. She and the earth faerie hit hard but remember that they do most damage as a group. When the dark faerie is gone, focus your efforts on the water faerie. She heals but if you can catch her off guard, she’s done. Now all that remains is that evil earth faerie. Do your best to kill her because she’s tough! She can kill a party member in one to two hits so be careful. Velm should ALWAYS be healing. The other three should focus their most powerful attacks on one faerie at a time until they are all gone. It is okay to lose one or maybe even two party members here, but make sure one of them is not Velm. This will probably be a long battle even if you are fully prepared. Suggested level: 45-46 Suggested items: slowing/hastening potions, healing potions, resurrection potions

Boss #17- He is the fourth and last optional boss in the game. But if you really want to fight him……He heals consistently. Turn after turn, so this could be a long battle depending on how well you are trained. He is resistant to damage-causing potions and magic, making the battle even more difficult. You should try to stun him because he tends to hasten himself quite a bit giving him several turns in a row. Another solution is to slow him consistently and hasten your party. He is probably the second or third hardest boss in the game, so watch out. He can be extremely difficult to beat. Suggested level: 47 Suggested items: slowing/hastening potions, healing potions, resurrection potions

Boss #18- Esophagor- If you beat Nox, you shouldn’t need to do a lot of leveling up, but I do suggest that you do some. He doesn’t heal but he does have a lot of health points. (2000 health points I think) He will consistently attack your team for about 150+ damage each turn so stay healthy. Use stunning attacks, slow down and speed up. Heal every turn. Overall, he is not hard. The faeries, Nox, and Spider Grundo were more difficult. Suggested level: 50 Suggested items: slowing/hastening potions, healing potions, resurrection potions

Boss #19- Fallen Angel- She can heal herself but doesn’t have incredibly high health anyways. She is simply a warm up for the bosses to come. If you have trouble with her, you need to do some serious training. You should never attempt to battle a boss unless you are at or above the suggested level of this guide. Suggested level: 51 Suggested items: slowing/hastening potions, healing potions, resurrection potions

~You may have notices that in all of the items lists there are resurrection potions. Never battle a boss unless you have at least two of these with you in case someone dies.

Boss #20- Devilpuss- You’re probably going to be tired by the time you reach Devilpuss. This cat hits hard so it’s important that you wipe out its nine lives quickly. There’s good news though: it cannot heal itself! Just attack like you normally would and Devilpuss will go down in no time. But now you should have mastered the boss battling technique. Suggested level: 52 Suggested items: slowing/hastening potions, healing potions, resurrection potions

Boss #21- Faerie Thief (1)- You’re almost finished the game! Only a couple more bosses to go! You battle the faerie thief three times. The first time is a test to see how well you will fare against her. Like Ramtor, she will flee after you drain her health to about ½ . Don’t let anyone die, because then, and easy battle could get tricky. Suggested level: 53 Suggested items: slowing/hastening potions, healing potions, resurrection potions

Boss #22- Faerie Thief (2)- It’s tough getting to her, and she hides in different places every time that are quite a distance apart. Her tactics don’t change. Battle like you normally would. She flees again. Suggested level: 54 Suggested items: slowing/hastening potions, healing potions, resurrection potions

Boss #23- Faerie Thief (3)- This time you actually have to kill her. You know the drill, hasten/slow, heal when you need to. She shouldn’t be that difficult to beat. Suggested level: 55 Suggested items: slowing/hastening potions, healing potions, resurrection potions

Boss #24- Pant Devil- The hardest part is getting to him. You fight two different ones so you have to kill it both times. Use the same tactics as before. Kill him and move on to the next. Not that hard. They don’t heal and think offensively meaning they don’t use potions. They have high health to start with though. You can get away with not using any slowing/speeding potions. You still have two bosses to go before you can stock up again so take heed. Suggested level: 56 Suggested items: healing potions, resurrection potions

Boss #25- Pant Devil- Use the same tactics as before. This shouldn’t be a difficult battle. Suggested level: 57 Suggested items: healing potions, resurrection potions

Boss #26- Terask I- Immediately slow and haste. He follows the same tactics as you because he also slows and hastens. He and Terask II are very smart enemies. Terask I heals himself, but that shouldn’t affect your plan very much. Make sure he is always slowed or he will be able to kill you easily. If Velm gets an extra turn, chuck a damage potion because Terask is resistant to Celestial Hammer. Suggested level: 58 Suggested items: slowing/hastening potions, healing potions, resurrection potions, damage-causing potions

Boss #27- Well, here you are, about to fight the last boss of the game. First of all, max out on the most powerful slowing, hastening, damage-causing and healing potions. In fact spend all of your cash because you need to have every possible edge you can get. He also self heals. Not only when he’s low on health, but at any moment. That could be a slight advantage though. If he heals, you suffer no damage and Velm could possibly get to attack. But if Velm is going to attack, make sure that every one is at full health and doesn’t need to be healed. This can be a risky move but it may work on occasion. Make sure Velm does not die. Terask will mesmerize him and kill him and you stand no chance without Velm’s healing abilities. With a little luck on your side, you will win the game. You should have maxed out group haste on all members and use it whenever you get a chance. Good luck! Suggested level: 60 Suggested items: slowing/hastening potions, healing potions, resurrection potions, damage-causing potions

Congratulations! You beat NeoQuest II!!!

Changes
Seasons change, relationships change, and sometimes, for the sad, unfortunate Neopian souls, owners, or as I like to call them, our human pets, can even change. Never once, however, did I think that I would change… literally.
