WHO LET THE KRAWK OUT! WHO? WHO?

     Me! Me! *cough* I meant not me. I’m just singing that song to attract your attention to read my article. It not wrong, right? I once read that in order to get an attention, be it intentionally or unintentionally, you must do something out of the context, should you be embarrassed or not, it is a story for another times. Okay, I lied, that all just me, no one ever said that.

     The truth is I just want to show my love towards this one species of neopets that has been my favorite all around, the limited edition and rarest neopets that is crown winner of the Wooden Spoon Award, the one and only; Krawk. In other word, it is about Krawk characters that are well known in Neopia. A brief history about this species is despite the introduction of Krawk Island in 5th day of Gathering in Year 3, Krawk only been introduced four months after that. Discovered on 10th January 2002, also known as Year 4 in Neopets Calendar, Krawk originate from Krawk Island obviously. Traditionally, Krawk can only be evolved from a petpet with the same name in the mysterious Fungus Cave. However, there is a cheapest method to get a Krawk, by using morphing potion.

     Now that I still have your continuous interest in reading this article, let’s proceed with the list of famous Krawk characters in Neopets. I have even included comments about my thought regarding these amazing, shady characters plus some notable items to commemorate them. They can be found starring in a major plot events, yearly Altador Cup tournaments (retired), in the battledome and so on. Also, I have this strange prospect that all Krawk are pirates.

     1.

     Mr. Krawley

     This mysterious gentleman from Tale of Woe plot is the villain causing mayhem in Neovia. He offered to help the citizen of Neovia by giving potions that believed able to fulfill their wants. Be that as it may, the potions actually turns them into monsters and he promptly disappeared after having his objective succeed. He return as Dr. Edward Alexander at Meepit Oaks Sanitarium and provide the staff with a magical elixir to help calm the patients. He also responsible in giving the magical flower and leading Gilly to the building where the final ingredient can be found to help Sophie finished her potion. Wisp of purple smoke surround him before he disappeared.

     Comment: I really like his personality His smart, strong and has magic. He also able to impersonate someone else. He is really powerful on his own. Just one flaw though, he is an evil mastermind.

     Governor Gavril McGill

     He was the only survivor along with his pet warf, after the Krawken that attacked Krawk Island disappeared, living on a small islet. Together with Surly Peadacle crews, he began to search for the missing islands and restored them, shaping it to this current Krawk Island. He had new ideas for the island, thus decided to be the new Governor. To prevent any rebellions against his rule from happening, he dispatched his cronies to the every corner of the island before the new island was completed and anchored to the seabed.

     Comment: Now, this is an A+ governing strategies. From the start he already take responsibility in reshaping the island that he believed too corrupted for other people to visit. He take actions accordingly and able to comes on top with his own efforts and intelligences. He even give out reward to his helpers and to continuously protect the island’s anchor from Krawken attacks, he forms a beneficial allegiance with them.

     Dasher ‘Soley’

     Former captain of Krawk Island yooyuball team in Altador Cup. During his active times in 2006 until 2010, he has led the team to podium twice; 2008 and 2009 in second and first place respectively. He planned to retired however because of an injury, his replacement, Feldon "Dinksy" Collibridge is unable to play during that year tournament forcing him to return to the field once again. He retired from yooyuball holding his head high as he bring the team to finish first during Altador Cup IV. He also has won numerous amount of awards throughout his year representing Krawk Island including Most Valuable Player (2009), Runner-up Most Valuable Player and The All-Neopia Second Team Left Forward (2008) and The All-Neopia Second Team Forward (2007).

     Comment: He is my favorite character even though I don’t have the opportunity to play Altador Cup when he still an active player. He even trained his pet, Go-Go to played Deckball. Talk about hardcore training. Although I think he’s kind of wishy washy person because he contradicts what he saying before. Besides that, it been four years since I start playing for Krawk Island and I think it going to be a long fruitful relationship for years to come. Go KI! Goal~~! *waving KI flags*

     4.

     Aurrick

     This cute Krawk is best known in the Lyra and the Lost Heirloom. Although his background origin is unhappy one; he was abandoned by his father outside of Qasala. He also has a role in the new mobile games, Legends and Letters. He is a thief that got tangled with Lyra and the plot surrounding her when he stumbled upon her trying to escape, climbing the wall of Sakhmet. In the end, he stole the scimitar from Lyra and sold it to the mysterious merchant.

     Comment: He’s cute, that a plus from my point of view. Although what he did to Lyra, it’s kind of feels like a betrayal. There we have a girl who want to escape from her father clutch and like a knight in not so shining armor, he offered to help her. She trust him wholeheartedly. In return he betrayed the trust she has place upon him by stealing the heirloom that she have in order to sell it to the highest bidder. What a mess.

     5.

     Lady Frostbite

     This fierce lady is well known in the Battledome. A heartbreaking story during her times as a child, who lost at the sea with no rescue attempts, she was brought up by a colony of Darblats. They made her their ruler. As consequences from her tragic childhood, she has grown cold, angry and seek revenge on the world that she thought had abandoned her. Her ultimate plot is to make everyone endure what she had by turning Neopia into a ‘giant snow cone’; using all of the machine parts she had stolen from around Neopia. Though that plan finally thwarted by a member of the Defenders of Neopia, Torchio. She is now hidden on Terror Mountain, causing blizzard to happen more than usual after escaping from captivity.

     Comment: Wow! I really like this lady even though the story behind her origin is gloomy, somehow she able to overcome all the hurdles with the help of her fellow darblats. She’s fierce and smart, if I do say so myself. On a side note, she’s a ruler to Darblats, who would think that. I meant come on people, who doesn’t want an army of darblats. Dr. Sloth got his meepits armies while Lady Frostbite got her darblats armies. I would love to see a fight between this two villains underlings. Darblats vs. Meepits. Aha! Do I smell a plot here in the making? *cackle*
