A Beginners Guide to Restocking at Kayla’s Potions

by hectic_haley

--------

So you’ve read through countless restocking guides and you understand the system, but you still do not know where to start. Some guides have told you to start at the Book Store, others tell you to try the pharmacy. Maybe you were even told to try Fresh Food and Toy Shop. While these are all decent options, I am an advocate for Kayla’s potions. I first started RSing late November and was told to learn at Kayla’s and now I almost exclusively restock there.

There are many benefits to restocking at Kayla’s. First and foremost her shop only restocks 56 items. While that sounds like a lot to learn, there are over 1300 items in the Toy Shop and over 1500 in Fresh Food. Even if you spend less than an hour per day restocking, you’ll have a solid understanding of what to buy and what not to buy after a week or so of hanging in Kayla’s. Better yet, of the 56 items, only around 20 will earn you a profit so that is even less to think about.

Another benefit to Kayla’s is that you do not have to have lightning speed quickness. Unlike the Post Office of Kauvara’s Magic Shop where the competition is crazy; Kayla’s is a far less popular shop. Now don’t get me wrong, seasoned restockers will hang out here, but you can still snag a few items here and there. I had zero restocking experience when I first started here and I was still able to make a couple hundred thousand Neopoints in my first week alone.

Lastly, Kayla’s seldom has 3 fully stocked rows. What does this mean for you? It means you can keep refreshing every 3-8 seconds so long as she has less than 3 fully stocked rows. Unlike most other shops, you do not have to wait for a clear for Kayla to restock some of the coveted profitable items.

The rest of this article will be divided into three sections: the must buys, the hard to sell, and the unbuyables. For beginners, I definitely recommend just paying attention to the must buys, then slowly branching out from here.

The Must Buys

The must buys are the items in Kayla’s that are the easiest to sell for a decent profit. If priced right in your shop, most of these items will sell within a couple days. Most the time I am able to sell them the day I buy them.

The first item above is the Bomberry Elixir. This item usually restocks between one and three times an hour. You can purchase it from Kayla’s for 200 np and sell it for at least 22000 np.

The second item is the Essence of Drackonack. This item usually restocks one to three times an hour. You can purchase it from Kayla’s for around 2500 np and sell it for around 12000 np.

The third item is The Cooling Balm of The Warrior. This item usually restocks one to three times an hour. You can purchase it from Kayla’s for between 4000-5000 np and sell it for around 12000 np.

The fourth item is the Jar of Forest Earth. This item usually restocks one or two times an hour. You can purchase it from Kayla’s for around 1400 np and sell it for around 40000 np.

The fifth item is the Bubbling Fungus. This item usually restocks one or two times an hour. You can purchase it from Kayla’s for around 3000 np and sell it for around 45000 np.

The Harder To Sell

The Harder To Sell items are items that don’t stock as commonly as the must haves, but they still restock for a profit. These items typically take a little longer to sell than the must buys, but they are still worth restocking, so long as you are patient and don’t drop the price just to get rid of it.

The first item is a Bullseye Potion. This potion usually restocks a few times a day. You can purchase it from Kayla’s for around 10000 np and sell it for around 25000 np.

The second item is a Hollybottle. I have seen this item multiple times in Kayla’s but it is not very common. You can purchase it for around 10000 np and sell it for around 20000 np.

The third item is an Illusens Forest Essence. This potion usually restocks daily. You can purchase it from Kayla’s for around 14000 np and sell it for around 35000 np.

The fourth item is a Twisted Potion of Strength. This is another less common restock. You can purchase it for around 10000 np and sell it for around 80000 np.

The Unbuyables

Like the name of this section, the unbuyables are unbuyable from user shops. These items will bring you the most profit, but they also don’t restock as frequently as the must buys. I usually see a couple of unbuyables per day. There are a few more unbuyables than the ones listed below, but these are the ones that I have purchased and sold many times.

The first item is an Elixir of Levelling. You can purchase it from Kayla’s for around 10000 np and sell it for around 110k on the trading post.

The second item is an Energising Elixir. You can purchase it from Kayla’s for around 10000 np and sell it for around 110k on the trading post.

The third item is a Meridellian Potion of Defense. You can purchase it from Kayla’s for around 10000 np and sell it for around 150k on the trading post.

The fourth item is a Potion of Doldrums. You can purchase it from Kayla’s for around 34000 np and sell it for around 100k. This item is on the verge of being unbuyable; sometimes this item sells under 100k, and other times it sells over.

The fifth item is a Strength Serum. You can purchase it from Kayla’s for around 25000 np and sell it for around 110k on the trading post.

The other unbuyables are: Kaylas Golden Brew, Kaylas Super Special Potion, and Potato Potion

Note that shop wiz, super shop wiz, and trading post prices are always changing. You should always look up the price of an item before you want to sell it! Sometimes an item will inflate in price and you can sell it for more than what is listed here.

What’s next?

Now that you have read through this guide, you should head on over to Kayla’s Potions and give it a go. I recommend you have at least 50k on hand while you are restocking here! Remember it takes practice when it comes to restocking. Don’t put yourself down if you miss out on an item. There’s always next time!

Welcome to White River
Portia Provoskia swept the dust from her skirt with a calculated flourish as she exited the small carriage. Her driver, a young Shoyru who talked with a thick Meridellian accent, handed the Halloween Ixi the small case that contained the few possessions she owned. "Welcome to White River, Miss."
