All The Beautiful Things We Can't Discard!

For instance, I have 20 different Crystal Neggs that sparkle and gleam, and 10 Bright Holiday Snowballs that are graced with scintillating blue stars. I have curled and weathered Parchments that are inscribed with runes and symbols. The time for using these items is long past, yet I keep them in my SDB instead of discarding them because they're so gorgeous and exquisite!

So here's a list of all the beautiful things we own, and can't bear to discard! I compiled this list using my very own SDB, since I've been playing on Neopets since 2007 and have a collection of many of the rare, once-in-a-lifetime items that were given out by TNT for plots and events. I had a lot of fun writing this list, and I hope you have fun reading it!

So here's my list of all the beautiful things we simply can't discard!

1. This Background is only available if you have a virtual prize code from BURGER KING(R) in Canada!

In September of 2008, we were able to input codes into the Grundo Warehouse and get some spectacular Backgrounds in return. We're not able to trade or give away these items, and can only stash them in our Closets, Galleries and SDBs. I was pretty stoked to get these free items, and even now, 8 years later, I'm still enamored of them! They are unique, colorful and varied, with such diverse locations as Faerieland, Altador, Krawk Island, and Lost Desert, amongst other places.

I keep them safe in my SDB, and I'll never, ever discard them! Once they're gone, they're gone for good, and I love them too much to get rid of them!

2. This snowball is quite heavy. Perhaps there is something inside? You will need Super Warm Holiday Mittens from the NC Mall to reveal the item within.

The Bright Holiday Snowballs could be melted with Super Warm Holiday Mittens during the Advent Calendar Snowball Event in December of 2013. You had to buy the Mittens from the NC Mall during that same month, and when the Snowballs were melted, they gave such cool items as Cheery Holiday Frame and Village Snowdrift Background. However, the Mittens are no longer available from the NC Mall, which renders my Snowballs moot.

I know that I have absolutely no need for my 10 Bright Holiday Snowballs, but I love to gape at their sparkling snowy beauty anyway! I've always loved the white purity of snow, and I love the way these animated, ivory Snowballs twinkle and shine. The Snowballs are topped with a sparkling turquoise star, and I absolutely adore the frosty effect.

I will never discard my Snowballs, though the time for melting them is long past. For now, I smile at their brilliant, dazzling beauty and thank my lucky stars that the TNT artists are so creative and inspired!

3. A brightly coloured negg in a fun pattern. There is something rattling inside, however. What could it be?

These Crystal Neggs are the stars of my SDB! They were part of the Festival of Neggs in 2014, and by using the Sparkling Negg Dust from the NC Mall on these Neggs, you would get specific NC prizes, such as Fancy Negg Staff and Cherry Blossom Wings. I didn't buy any Dust from the Mall, but that didn't diminish my enjoyment of the event!

I keep all 20 of the Crystal Neggs in my SDB because I can't bear to throw them away. They are, in my opinion, the loveliest and most amazing items ever created by the TNT artists, and these vibrant Crystal Neggs have a permanent home in my SDB. I will never, ever discard them, and I'm probably not the only player with this colorful obsession!

4. Oh, what did you find here? You will need the Hieroglyphic Dictionary from the NC Mall to decipher all the symbols on this parchment piece.

The Watchful Horus, Dual Reeds, and Sign of Life Parchment Pieces were part of the Desert Diplomacy event in August of 2014. To decipher them, you had to buy Hieroglyphic Dictionaries from the NC Mall. Each Parchment gave its own assortment of rare items, such as Ancient Geb Pyramids Background and Fashionable Lost Desert Wig.

I love the artwork on these 3 scrolls, and I think they are truly exotic and mysterious! Decorated with runes and weathered script, I am totally against deleting them from my account. I'll never be able to use them, since Hieroglyphic Dictionaries are no longer being sold in the NC Mall, but I adore their artwork nonetheless, and I'll never, ever discard them!

5. This treasure chest is heavy, as though something is hidden inside. You will need an Ice Candy Cane Key from the NC Mall to unlock the chest.

What an adorable little item this is! The Candy Cane Striped Ice Treasure Chest could be opened with an Ice Candy Cane Key from the NC Mall during the Advent Calendar Treasure Chest Event in December of 2014. These Treasure Chests gave such interesting items as Christmas Porch Background and Wintery White Hood.

The Ice Candy Cane Keys are no longer being sold in the NC Mall, but I don't mind! I love my 6 Treasure Chests just as they are, glistening in my SDB and decorated with cheerful red-and-white candy canes. They are so brimming with holiday spirit and cheer that I can't bear to discard them! I just gaze upon them and smile, thankful that they exist, and hoping that next December, the TNT artists will come up with another item that is just as jolly, merry and bright!

6. This negg might be lovely, but it feels empty somehow. Wonder what magic it contains...

I'm excited that right now, the Festival of Neggs of 2016 is happening! People are collecting beautiful Neggs by scouring the Neopian landscape. Each Negg can be opened, with new and unique items available to be won, such as wearables, stamps, and books.

That said, there are also Classic Magical Neggs being given out! These are NC items that can only be opened with the Mysterious Dust from the NC Mall. The artwork on these Neggs are absolutely breathtaking, as translucent as stained glass and hued with gorgeous colors such as gold, turquoise and orange. Though I won't buy any Dust from the Mall, I plan to keep these Classic Magical Neggs forever, safely stashed in my SDB! Thanks, TNT artists, for creating such lovely new items!

7. This item is part of a deluxe paint brush set!

I know that a lot of people wish they could discard the Paint Brush clothes that accumulate in their Closets, especially if they're avid zappers who use the Secret Laboratory Ray on their pets every day. However, there is another class of people who would keep every single Yellow Elephante Hat they have in their Closets, even if they have 11! They take pride in the fact that they have 200 Paint Brush clothes in their Closets, and even if discarding Paint Brush clothes becomes a reality in the future, they never will. They treasure every Robot outfit and every article of Desert jewelry, and consider these items to be permanent fixtures of their Closets.

Thank you, TNT artists, for creating such beautiful clothes that owning 200 of them still isn't enough! We players are so addicted to your creations! I especially look forward to future clothing options for the Vandagyre, a pet that is so new that it has only 8 colors, 4 of them basic (Red, Yellow, Green, and Blue). I'm excited about how it will look as Desert, as Island, and as Halloween, because those colors always have the reputation of having some pretty awesome clothes. I'm also rather curious about how the Vandagyre will look as Royalboy and Royalgirl. I must admit, if I'm able to zap a Vandagyre into Desert or Island, I'm definitely going to keep the clothes forever!

Conclusion…

So these were some of the amazing and remarkable items that we're totally loath to discard! I think it's a testament to the TNT artists that we keep items that we can't even use anymore. My list was just a small fraction of all the rare items that the people on this site hoard, items that they treasure and love and can't bear to lose.

So these were all the beautiful things we can't discard! I thought it was a fun list to make, and I look forward to new items from the TNT artists, items will that spark our imaginations and make us smile. I hope they're animated, radiant and glittering!
