The April Fool That Fooled Us All

      It was April 1st,Y15 and boy was my owner confused! Oh, maybe I should tell you who I am. I am Harry_the_Toothless, a male Pirate Krawk (who started out as a Grarrl, but that’s a different story for later). My older (by only 1 day) and shorter ‘brother’, Harrund, a red Shoyru, and I were getting ready for our training when a female blue Aisha showed up, very unannounced, and seemed quite confused about being with us, too.

      “Who are you?” Harrund asked immediately.

      “My name is Kokariia” she stated and seemed like she wanted to ask us who we were but my owner noticed that she was famished/dying and immediately starting shoving omelettes at her, which she snapped up quite readily.

      “Wow! You sure can eat!” I said, I kind of liked that she wasn’t acting real dainty and girly.

      “Oh, sorry, do you want some too?” she replied with a blush, realizing that she only left a third of one of the three omelettes my owner had given her.

      “Naw, we’re fine. Our Owner takes good care of us and keeps us well fed so we’ll train better.” Harrund answered her but then asked “Umm, is your owner around here somewhere?”

      “Where are we exactly? Is this Mystery Island?” she asked as she looked around a bit.

      “No, we’re on Krawk Island and heading to Cap'n Threelegs Swashbuckling Academy for our training. We’re almost at level 40, so we expect to be moving our training to the Mystery Island Training School with the Techo Master very soon.” I sort of bragged to her. We were training every day and I was really proud of how fast we were getting through our training.

      “Well boys, I’m going to put you in your courses but I am not able to put this Aisha in, so we’ll see you later.” Our owner broke in as we got our assignments from Captain Threelegs and then our owner whisked the mysterious Aisha to go exploring.

      “But we didn’t get to ask her where she came from?” Harrund shouted to me as he suited up for his training session.

      “I know. Don’t you think it’s strange that she knows about Mystery Island, like she knows about Neopia and the lands?” I asked Harrund as I suited up too.

      “Quit yer blabberin’ ya swabbies! Git on with yer trainin’! “ Captain Threelegs shouted at us and then muttered quietly, “Aye, I could murder a Hot Dog right now!”

      While we were training for 6 hours, apparently a lot more ‘pets’ found their way to our owner.

      “What’s all this?!!” demanded Harrund, not pleased that our owner not only had Kokariia with him but a yellow Meerca, a green Buzz, and a very sick red Nimmo.

      “Hi boys! It seems that TNT’s prank for April Fool’s Day this year is to keep on adding pets. They were all near starving to death and luckily, feeding them is not a problem. But this Nimmo is real sick with NeoMonia and I can’t take any of these “extra” pets to Healing Springs.” He started explaining to us.

      “NeoMonia is cured with Medicinal Soap, but that’s quite pricey in the Shops.” Kokariia offered, “It would cost at least 8,000 neopoints, but you really shouldn’t worry, Sir, we will probably all go back to the Pound in a few hours.” She smiled very sincerely at our owner, which made Harrund jump into her face.

      “Why would he need to spend so much on ANY of you if you are all going back to the Pound?” his jealousy dripping into his accusation.

      “Your Owner is amazing and has shown great kindness to each and every pet that came to him. You needn’t worry that he is replacing you with any of us but just see how much he cares.” She calmly reassured Harrund, who felt embarrassed by his outburst.

      “It’s alright, Harrund, I am pretty sure that TNT will make these pets disappear at midnight NST, but I can’t stand that this Nimmo is so sick. If he goes back to the Pound this way, he won’t have a very good chance of getting adopted.” Our owner gently assured him.

      Our owner got the Medicinal Soap, which did cost nearly 8k np, but seeing how much our owner cared about all these pets- even if they were supposed to be temporary made me realize how fortunate Harrund and I really are . How happy he seemed when the Nimmo was restored to full health. We got even 3 more pets before the magical hour of midnight NST hit. In fact, we were working on playing Kacheek Seek with a very unhappy blue Kau to get her mood at least to happy when my owner called Harrund and me over for something he needed to say to us away from what Harrund was calling “the Circus Crowd”.

      “Hey guys! I think I want to write down Kokariia’s name and when TNT yanks all these pets away, I want to go get her and adopt her, can you guys stand having a ‘sister’?” our owner asked us looking for our reactions to his announcement.

      “A girl?! Can she even fight? “Harrund began to whine.

      “Harrund, be quiet for a minute. It has been just us 2 for so long that you can’t see what a great pet Kokariia has been, helping our owner with all of these extra pets. Can’t you see that he really wants her to be with us?” I exclaimed as I pulled on Harrund’s wing.

      “But Harry, can you guys be ok with her?” my owner was still scanning our faces to make sure that we would be ok with this change in our family.

      “Would it just be her or are you thinking to get another girl too?” Harrund looked over at Kokariia stroking the blue Kau’s neck and encouraging the newest pet, a green Quiggle, to finish his omelette.

      “I think Kokariia would be it for now. I was thinking of making a blue Aisha, and here she is, already made and needing a home. Isn’t this just perfect?, our owner tried again to reassure Harrund as time was passing quickly.

      Before Harrund could answer our owner, it turned 12:00:00 NST and then all those pets disappeared and it was just Harrund and me again.

      “Well hurry up and let’s get to the Pound if we’re going to get her!!!” Harrund shouted as he felt that if we didn’t move fast enough, we would lose the best sister we could ever hope for.

      At the Pound, a lot of changes were going on at the Pound, like Rosie the Grarrl was in charge of the Pound instead of Dr. Death. Our owner was frantic, and we were too, as he typed and retyped until there she was…Kokariia. It wasn’t a dream or a cruel joke after all! We adopted her and she was so happy to see us too!

      “I was worried I would never see you both again!” she tried hard to contain her tears, “ I’ve been in this Pound for 8 or more years…” and her tears fell.

      “And now you’re the best prank TNT played on us because you are sister now and forever!” Harrund exclaimed as he rushed to hug her.

      As she looked over at me, “What about you, Harry? Are you able to have a sister in your family?”

      “Well, you have to train and fight in Battledome and when it comes to Altador Cup we play every day-“

      “I hope for Krawk Island!” she cut in, “Did anyone ever tell you how much you look like the KI’s forward?” she beamed as she hugged Harrund back.

      “Well, sis, we’ll catch you up on KI’s line up later,” I said as I came over to hug her too, “ You certainly are the Fool that fooled us all! Welcome to our family!”

      “Hey guys! I just tried to put Kokariia into the Academy and found out that she was signed up at the Mystery Island Training School. I paid the codestone she needed to start the course she was signed up for, so Kokariia, we’ll go there to do that and in 2 hours we’ll get you back here with your brothers at the Academy, ok?” our owner told us as he came over to see us in a happy tangle.

      “That’s cool with me!” Kokariia answered popping up from our tackle.

      Cool, she’s a fighter too! I thought to myself. She’s perfect.
