Sweet Sibling Revenge

"Eeeuuurrgggh!!!!" Jessie__Bessie shrieked as she started to run in circles.

      "Chasing your tail again?" her brother joseph_woseph_ asked.

      She looked absolutely panicked as she spun like a cyclone. "No! There's some sort of creature on me and I can't get it off! Help me!" It was all too much for joseph_woseph_ and he started to crack up with laughter.

      Jessie__Bessie stopped in her tracks and narrowed her big, brown eyes at her brother. "What have you done?" As she stopped, a Sticky Techo fell to the ground between her front hooves. "Are you serious? THAT'S what that was???" joseph_woseph_ was rolling on the ground with tears in his eyes now.

      "Oh, I'm going to get you back so much worse," seethed Jessie__Bessie. joseph_woseph_ had been pranking her for as long as she could remember and she was sick of it. Unfortunately, he always seemed to figure out her revenge plots before she could execute them. She could tell from his smirk now that he wasn't worried. This time, Jessie__Bessie had a plan that she knew wouldn't fail. "Just you wait," she mocked. "Just you wait."

      The next day, Jessie__Bessie started to put her plan into action. She started by going on a little shopping spree to pick up some supplies. She started off by visiting Ugga Shinies where she picked up some Strange Blue Mist. After her long trek to Tyrannia and back home, she needed a little Kau nap. She snuggled up with her favorite Baby Wocky Plushie with the resolve to wake up in just a few minutes.

      She woke up with an even bigger jolt than Imiya, the star of her favorite game Math's Nightmare. It was time to continue her shopping and get on with her sweet revenge on joseph_woseph_. She set out on a short trip to visit to the Neopian Bazaar to pick up a Grand Lightning Beam from Battle Magic. It was a little expensive for her liking, even after haggling, but she knew it would be well worth it. She was almost finished with her purchases. She had just one item left to find – the Dark Enchanted Cape. It was going to finish off her prank ensemble beautifully. Jessie__Bessie had heard from her friend __Xylia__ that such a cape existed at the NC Mall, and she intended to own the magnificent piece very soon.

      As Jessie__Bessie started to browse around the NC Mall, she felt her heart start to sink. She couldn't find the cape anywhere. As she was about to give up, she caught sight of the glorious cape on a poster. In bright colorful letters, it persuaded customers to "PLAY BIGSBY SHADINGTON'S WONDERCLAW." She jumped into the air with delight. Unfortunately, as a Kau, she then hit the ground with an attention-grabbing thud. She blushed as she began to tiptoe towards the Wonderclaw section, so that she could figure out what it was that she needed to do to secure her dream cape.

      She concentrated very hard on the posted rules, so that she would know exactly how to achieve the best result the quickest. She determined that she needed to purchase a Widget pack because she would need Widgets to play the game. All she had to do was guide a claw, pick up a pod, and receive a prize. It sounded simple enough. She also realized that there were different Wonderclaw machines, so she needed to be sure that she played using the Enchanted Forest machine. Now that she knew what to do, she was ready to purchase her Widgets and get going.

      Jessie__Bessie decided that it would be best to go ahead and purchase a 10-pack of Widgets. Once she had acquired her tokens to play, she made her way to the Enchanted Forest machine. She held her breath and slipped a widget into the slot in the machine. It was very difficult for her to maneuver the claw with her hoof, but after a few seconds, she managed to get a system down. She had no way of knowing what was in any of the brightly colored pods, so she wondered why she was spending so much time picking one. She decided to just hit the button that dropped the claw and go for it.

      She was almost giddy as she went to open the first pod that she chose. She couldn't believe her eyes – it was the cape! "Oh, great. What am I supposed to do with these other 9 widgets I just bought?" she grumbled. That brief pessimism gave way to sheer joy that she possessed such a beautiful, mysterious, and perfect cape. She had everything she needed. It was time to proceed with her plan.

      Jessie__Bessie returned home where she immediately went to her closet to get ready. She put on her beautiful new Dark Enchanted Cape first. Next she surrounded herself with her recently acquired Strange Blue Mist. She made sure she had her Grand Lightning Beam hidden in her cape, and then she put on her final piece. She had been saving it in her closet and she knew it would eventually come in handy – her Menacing Tribal Mask. She was ready to go.

      Jessie__Bessie knew that joseph_woseph_ was going to be out for a while at Gormball practice. (Why he still played such an old school game was a mystery to her.) While he was still gone, she slipped into his room, turned off the lights, and hid under his bed. She was painfully bored while she was waiting for him, but she tried to focus on how great it would feel to finally one-up her brother instead of how bored she was. After what felt like an eternity, she heard joseph_woseph_ approaching his room. "This is it," she thought.

      He opened the door to his room and flipped on his light. She realized that she hadn't thought through this part of her plan. She needed the lights off to execute her plan well. What was she going to do? To her delight, a very tired joseph_woseph_ got ready for bed quickly and turned the light right back off. It was go time.

      First Jessie__Bessie used her Grand Lightning Beam to zap nothing in particular. She just wanted the bright light that she knew it would cause, and she was not disappointed. As soon as the light flashed, she heard joseph_woseph_ jump up out of the bed. It was time for phase two. She waved the blue mist surrounding her out from under the bed at the same time that she made low, bellowing noises. (It was a handy time for her to be a Kau.) "Wh-wh-who's there?" stammered joseph_woseph_. He was looking around the room frantically with a terrified look on his face. Jessie__Bessie knew that the only thing he feared was ghosts. This was too perfect.

      After she thought she had built up enough suspense, she knew it was time for the third and final phase. She made sure that her mask was on securely and slid quietly out from under the bed. As joseph_woseph_ turned to look in her direction, she made a horrifying groaning noise and started towards him. He screamed like a baby Uni and ran out his door, down the hallway, and all the way outside. Jessie__Bessie could no longer contain her chuckles. She laughed until she cried and she was still rolling around laughing in her costume when joseph_woseph_ gained enough courage to come back to his room.

      When he saw her there, it didn't take long for him to realize what had happened. "Ahem," was all it took for Jessie__Bessie to look up at him terrified. She hadn't thought about what he might do out of anger or retaliation. She braced herself for the wrath that she felt certain was going to land on her.

      joseph_woseph_ looked down at her sternly, took a deep breath, and let out a loud "Well played."
