Prepare for War--And Save Neopoints Doing it!

by erikareneelove

--------

Everybody likes to have a good fight in the Battledome, but sometimes it can be hard to find the right equipment, right? Wrong! But you don't have a lot of neopoints? Well, that's okay! You can still create a good Battledome set, and you don't have to spend a lot of money! Now, I will confess, I am not a regular Battledomer, but I have battled enough—and had the help of some wonderful people—to feel confident that the advice in this set will be helpful to those who do not want to spend a lot, or those who simply do not have a lot of neopoints!

This list has been complied with help and advice from other users over the years! Each item will be listed by name, price, picture, icons (which is the damage it does), and then a brief description of the item! For some items, there will be alternate options to fit within a couple of different price ranges!

***(Princes are currently higher due to the plot!)

Let's get started!

1.) Scarab Ring x2

~4000 – 5000 neopoints (usually ~1000 – 2000 neopoints)

Attack:

Water x2

Darkness x2

Physical x2

Defense:

Fire x3

Physical x3

As you can see, this item attacks with six icons, and defends with six icons. This can be rather hard to find with a weapon for such a low price! The physical defense is more 'useful' (I put useful in quotes because it is merely more common to be attacked with physical icons rather than fire icons!). Having an item that has the combination of both attack and defense is perfect for a new battler, a battler on a budget, and even an experienced battler!

Don't have enough neopoints with the inflation? Well that's okay! This weapon can be won from scratchcards! Or you could buy them off another user via their shop, or the Trading Post! They are very easy to come by, and many Neopians have multiple Scarab rings stashed away in their Safety Deposit Boxes! Who knows, maybe you do, too!

**Note, I recommend that you have TWO Scarab Rings in your battle set! It can be very helpful to attack with both at once!

2.) Ridiculously Heavy Battle Hammer x2

~1000 – 3000 neopoints (Usually 1 – 1000 neopoints)

Attack:

Earth x3

Air x3

Physical x3

Defense:

n/a

This weapon is a very popular choice for new battlers, and it's not very hard to see why! This weapon attacks with NINE icons! For the approximate price of 1000 neopoints, that is a very good deal! This weapon works better for 1-Player battles than 2-Player battles because other users expect beginner battlers to have these, and the more experienced battlers can choose other weapons and shields to deflect the damage icons!

This weapon can be obtained in many different ways! One way to obtain this weapon is to simply buy it from another user's shop via the shop wizard (or super shop wizards for those with Premium accounts)! You can also find this item restocking at Battle Magic, which would be a more hit-or-miss method. This can also be found at the Trading Post! Lastly, this item can be won in the new Battledome!

**Note, this item's price is inflated due to the plot!

-OR-

2.) Ridiculously Heavy Battle Hammer AND Rainbow Scroll

**Note this is an alternative for those who are willing to spend a little more!**

~10000 – 20000 neopoints

Attack:

Water x3

Air x3

Light x3

Earth x3

Physical x3

**These are the icons of BOTH items!

Defense:

n/a

The Rainbow Scroll is good for users with a higher low budget! This is a very popular weapon for beginners, and Neopians, with low budgets, and with good reason! This scroll gives you NINE attack icons, and many battlers consider these to be more desirable icons! This item does NOT give any defense icons! Perhaps, if you're anything like me, you'll find that you already have this Scroll stashed away in your Safety Deposit Box! Go ahead, take a peek!

The reason I recommend this combination as an alternative to two Ridiculously Heavy Battle Hammers is that the Rainbow Scroll has more desirable icons, but is more on the expensive side! When used together, these two items can do some good damage, and won't take you out of your budget (if you have a higher low budget)! This item restocks in the Brightvale Scroll shop, the Trading Post and can be bought from other user's stores.

This combination is highest recommended by me because it provides for a cheaper choice with a good mix of icons!

**You could choose to use these items together, or even separate with a shield, depending on your challenger and your health!

-OR-

2.) Rainbow Scroll x2

**Note this is an alternative for those who are willing to spend a little more!**

~10000 – 20000 neopoints

Attack:

Water x3

Air x3

Light x3

Defense:

n/a

I would not recommend this combination as highly as the first two that I have listed, but, seeing as the Rainbow Scroll does have more desirable icons, there is the chance that this could cause more damage! The reason I do not recommend this quite as highly is purely due to price. Buying two of these could cost you up to 40000 neopoints, and that is fairly expensive for users who have a low budget!

3.) Leaf Shield x1

**Note this is on the expensive side, but it is simply the best cheap shield!**

~45000 – 60000 neopoints (Usually ~20000 - 30000 neopoints)

Attack:

n/a

Defense:

Earth x5

Water x5

Physical x3

This shield protects you from THIRTEEN icons! That is very impressive, and a great addition to any battle set! The icons that this shields protects you from are very common in the lower level battling, and would be a great defense against other new battlers! While on the expensive side, especially with the current inflation, this is one of the best buyable shields! Don't cringe at the price; it's worth your neopoints! I promise! You can find this item in other users' shops, the Trading Post, or you could win it from various quests throughout Neopia (Illusen's Quest... *hinthint*).

I highly recommend buying this shield (or checking your Safety Deposit Box for one! You'll be surprised at what you stash away sometimes!) This is the best starter shield.

4.) Muffins x2

**Note this is on the expensive side, but it is simply the best cheap shield!**

~1000+ neopoints (some muffins are cheap, around 1000 neopoints, while others can cost 25000 neopoints and more!)

Attack:

Varies per muffin!

Defense:

n/a

Muffins are a great addition to any battle set! There are a variety of muffins that can be bought, each ranging in price! I recommend having two muffins equipped at a time—but you need to stock up on muffins! They are single use items—aka you can only use them once, then they're gone! If your budget is very low, stick to Battle Muffins! They are your cheapest option, usually priced around ~1000 neopoints! Muffins can be bought in Battle Magic, through other users' shops (via (super)shop wizard), the Trading Post or won in the Battledome! Who knows, maybe even your Safety Deposit Box! (Are you sensing a theme here? Check your Safety Deposit Box for hidden treasures!!)

4.) Lesser Healing Scroll x1

**Note this is on the expensive side, but would be very helpful during battle!**

~70000 - 90000 neopoints

Attack:

n/a

Defense:

n/a

You might be wondering, "Why would I want to equip my pet with an item that does not damage, and doesn't protect me?!" Well, this scroll will heal your pet! You can use your Lesser Healing Scroll once per battle. It will not disappear after you use it, like the muffins do, but after you use it once in a battle, you cannot use it again until your next battle. But what exactly does this item do?? It heals your pet up to 25HP! Now, why wouldn't that be a great help? ;) This can be bought through other users, the Trading Post, or Brightvale Scroll.

***Note, you can only equip one healing item to your pet!***

-OR-

4.) Greater Healing Scroll x1

**Note this is expensive, but would be VERY helpful during battle!**

~500000 - 750000 neopoints

Attack:

n/a

Defense:

n/a

This item is basically the same thing as the Greater Healing Scroll, but it can heal your pet up to 50HP! This is the most powerful healing scroll, and would be a major asset to your set! If you cannot afford to buy this scroll, then I highly recommend you get your hands on a Lesser Healing Scroll! (These are even more crucial to have now that your pet is NOT healed after winning a fight!) This item can be found at Brightvale Scroll. This item cannot be found in user shops! If you want to buy this from another user you will have to travel to the Trading Post! This can also only be used once per battle!

***Note, you can only equip one healing item to your pet!***

If you take one of each option I have listed above, you will have yourself a battle ready set! Please understand that these items are cheap in Battledome terms! They may or may not be in your budget, depending on how well you save, restock, or how often you play game! But when it comes to a good Battledome set, this is probably one of the cheapest you can find! Also, please remember that the plot has inflated the price of many of these items because they are now in higher demand!

With this guide, you will spend a total of ~172000 – 905000 neopoints depending on which combination(s) you choose! Please note that prices are due to change, and sometimes you can be lucky enough to find a user selling an item way cheaper than everyone else! You could also spend less if you already own any of these items, or if you are lucky enough to win one for free!

So, my students, take your knowledge, and go buy yourself a battle-worthy set! Don't forget to also prepare for the war by training your pet! (Focus on level, strength, and defense. HP is also important, but not as important. Agility is not important—unless your OCD and like your stats to be pretty and even!). Good luck, and may the Force be with you. :)
