Snowglobes: Winter Wonderland in a Bottle

by danceswithpampers

--------

With spring in full swing, it will soon be time to bid farewell to the marvelous wonders of the icy season. There are many truly spectacular aspects of winter, among them snow ball fights with Faeries, warm Borovan by the fire, and sledding on the top of Terror Mountain. But perhaps one of the most timeless aspects of winter can be found in glass bottles. Yes, that’s correct: snow globes –timeless reminders of the many wonders of winter.

So, when you find yourself lounging in the sun on a warm spring day, longing for the winter season, your snow globe will act as a reminder of the charming, frosty conditions to come. Furthermore, snow globes come in many distinct shapes and sizes, themes and colors – making these trinkets not only beautiful reminders of winter, but also fun, little trinkets that are perfect for any time of the year. With that in mind, for those of you who are already yearning for the winter weather to return and looking for a new way to spruce up your collections, let us reminisce together as we introduce ten of the most interesting, unique snow globes in Neopia.

1. Geraptiku Snowglobe:

One of the most inexpensive, though lovely snow globes in Neopia, the Geraptiku Snowglobe is an oxymoron in itself. As anyone who has been to Geraptiku knows, the hidden village outside of Mystery Island is rarely, if ever, the home to snow – regardless of the year. That might be why this little snow globe is so popular. In a village where the snow is never present, to see the delicate flakes falling in a glass replica is quite a treat for the eyes. So, with that in mind, when you find yourself overwhelmed with the sunny, warm atmosphere of the spring, the Geraptiku Snowglobe will help lift your spirits and remind you of the icy conditions just around the corner.

2. Snowglobe Pencil:

Here’s the scenario: you’re at school on a warm, sunny day. Your teacher is informing you of vital information that will better prepare you for your future, and yet, as he continues his lecture, you find yourself daydreaming about a winter wonderland – light, delicate flakes of snow lazily falling from the clouds above you as you run and play in Happy Valley. Sounds all too familiar? Fear not! With the Snowglobe Pencil, you’ll be able to enjoy your winter daydreams without sacrificing class time! The Snowglobe Pencil consists of a sturdy red pencil topped by a stunning, yet lightweight snowglobe, adorned by a synthetic sprig of holly. This pencil will allow you to enjoy the wonders of snow any time of the year!

3. Terror Mountain Snowglobe:

What better way to enjoy snow than from the comfort of your own home? With the Terror Mountain Snowglobe, you can do just that! This happy little snowglobe depicts a day in the life of a Terror Mountain inhabitant without actually having to travel to the snowcapped mountain. This snowglobe makes a perfect gift for everyone – no matter what time of year it is!

4. Snow Faerie Snowglobe:

Delicate, beautiful, enchanting, unique: these words perfectly describe one of the most beautiful times of year – not to mention one of the most beautiful faeries in Neopia. The Snow Faerie Snowglobe is both stunning and sturdy. While it is strong enough to withstand the temper of a Usuki Usul, the Snow Faerie Snowglobe also makes a perfect decoration for the mantel any time of the year. Now, not to discredit the beauty of other faeries in Neopia – because there are many truly stunning faeries in existence, but the Snow Faerie is the epitome of winter wonderlands. This snowglobe is the ideal trinket to give to any snow lover.

5. Festive Maraquan Snowglobe:

“It’s not really full of snow, but at least the fact that it’s filled with water makes sense.” The Festive Maraquan Snowglobe is proof that winter is adored by all – even those who haven’t technically experienced it for themselves. This snowglobe features a large sand-tree, shaped to mirror that of an actual Christmas tree, and rather than snow, when this snowglobe is shook, colorful confetti dances down. So, while it isn’t a snowglobe in the traditional sense, the Festive Maraquan Snowglobe is a must for every snowglobe enthusiast.

6. Jhudora Snowglobe:

Even the wicked love winter; however, the Jhudora Snowglobe, much like the Festive Maraquan Snowglobe, isn’t your typical winter wonderland in an orb. Instead, when you shake the Jhudora Snowglobe, green swirls surround the evil faerie. Some even claim that as you shake the globe, you can hear her distinct, bloodcurdling laughter in the distance. Even so, the Jhudora Snowglobe is a beautiful trinket that will surely add a little spark to your collection.

7. Seasonal Illusen Snowglobe:

A snowglobe collection isn’t a snowglobe collection without a little bit of rivalry. Unlike the Jhudora Snowglobe, the Seasonal Illusen Snowglobe is true to its name. This festive snowglobe features Illusen: the pleasant faerie of Meridell and the Jhudora’s most fervent adversary. Furthermore, the Seasonal Illusen Snowglobe is perhaps one of the prettiest snowglobes in existence. It features a lovely Illusen, surrounded by snow, delicately descending around her. The globe itself rests atop synthetic snow-covered trees, which further add to its wintery appeal. The Seasonal Illusen Snowglobe is a gorgeous trinket that makes a perfect gift for any Illusen supporter.

8. Space Faerie Snowglobe:

Unique in every way, the Space Faerie Snowglobe definitely does justice to the faerie of which it represents. Shaped to mirror that of a rocket ship, the Space Faerie Snowglobe doesn’t actually contain so much as a drop of snow. Instead, when you shake the Space Faerie Snowglobe, little moons and stars shower downward – after all, there’s no weather in space! Just like the Space Faerie, the Space Faerie Snowglobe is the perfect combination of beauty and practicality. While this snowglobe doesn’t represent the winter weather that we all love, it certainly makes a great gift – it’s pretty to look at and durable enough to use as a toy! How neat!

9. Faerie Queen Snowglobe:

A snowglobe collection wouldn’t be complete without a snowglobe honoring the fairest, most regal faerie in Neopia: Fyora. The Faerie Queen Snowglobe features an oval globe, which contains a lifelike replica of the beautiful faerie queen. When shook, soft flakes of snow and cloud remnants fall around the faerie queen, enhancing her beauty and creating a dazzling show for the Neopian who holds it. Sitting on a gold stand, shaped as a crown, the Faerie Queen Snowglobe is the embodiment of all things elegant.

10. Ship in a Bottle Snowglobe:

Ending this list right, we present you with the most elusive, not to mention expensive, snowglobe in Neopia. No, it isn’t the Kacheek Snowglobe, and the fact that you would even guess that worries us. The Ship in a Bottle Snowglobe (high fives go out to you who guessed it right) is one of the most unique and beautiful snowglobes that can be found in Neopia. Available only to those who are quick, savvy, and wealthy enough to persuade the pirates at Smuggler’s Cave into selling it to them, the Ship in a Bottle Snowglobe is just that – a ship in a snowglobe. Clever naming, right? (Aw, we’re just kidding, creative minds behind the name of this snowglobe... sort of... ;)) When this snowglobe is tilted, it creates a storm that appears to engulf the fierce pirate ship. Nevertheless, when the snowglobe is placed upright, it regains its composure and perfectly resembles a pirate ship amongst the waves. While this snowglobe isn’t exactly winter related, it sure is cool!

So, with that, we end our snow globe list. Let us bid farewell to winter, for we know it will soon return. (Not to mention, who doesn’t love the beach in the summer, right? :P) With our beautiful snow globes as reminders of the winter weather that isn’t far behind us, we shall bravely venture into the warmer seasons. Be sure to look for our upcoming article exposing the delicious flavors of slushies and their mystical powers over our taste buds... maybe the spring won’t be so bad after all.
