The Littlest Weewoo
Neptune was sitting on the shore of Krawk Island on the sand. Even though she lived in Mystery Island, she still often liked visiting the small island of the coast of her home. It was a warm, sunny day and that’s when Neptune decided to go to the Little Nippers shop. “I’ll just take a peek,” Neptune said to herself. “I have some dubloons on me. Maybe I’ll buy a petpet!” So, she ran off to the shop.
When Neptune opened the door, she heard babbling from something. It was the petpets! The petpets were always excited when people come in. “Hi there,” the shopkeeper said, “Have you came in to browse?”
“No, I will possibly buy a petpet. What do you have in stock today?” Neptune asked.
“Well, we have the usual... Narwools, Snarhooks, Palmplats... oh! I almost forgot. We have a Weewoo today. Do you want to see her?” the shopkeeper asked.
“Okay. Let me have a look,” Neptune stated. She was very eager to meet this Weewoo. In all her life, she hadn’t seen one Weewoo in stock at this store.
Neptune tried to wait patiently, but she couldn’t help it. When he came out with the weewoo, Neptune almost squealed. “Oh my... it’s... it’s... a very small weewoo!” Neptune exclaimed. Neptune had seen a weewoo before, but not that small.
“Why is she so, well, tiny? I’ve never seen a weewoo that small,” Neptune said.
“She’s my shop's smallest weewoo ever. No one is willing to buy her because of her size,” the shopkeeper explained. “But, due to her size, the price is lower. Fifty five dubloons and this weewoo is yours.”
Neptune stood in shock. She couldn’t believe the price. “This is probably a dream,” Neptune thought. Little did she know it wasn’t. First, she checked the amount of dubloons on her. Sixty dubloons, exactly what she needed, and then she’d have five dubloons over for lunch. “Okay...” Neptune continued, “I’ll buy her. Here you go, fifty five dubloons.”
“Thank you for your patronage! I hope you like her. She is a very sweet weewoo, believe me,” the shopkeeper said cheerfully. Neptune left the store with her new weewoo in her hands, with a smile on her face.
The weewoo looked around curiously. She had not been outside in a while, because she always stayed inside in the shop when she lived there. Neptune stroked her softly and gently. “I need to name you,” Neptune told her. “Your name will be... Pinky! You know why, Pinky? Well, it’s because one day, you are going to be pink!” Neptune exclaimed.
Pinky’s answer was just a small peep. Pinky had a scared look on her face. The happiness had just faded away. Pinky was afraid of Neptune!
Neptune looked down at Pinky. She was awfully perplexed. “What’s wrong, Pinky? Don’t you like it out here?” Neptune asked. Then she pondered for a moment, and she figured it out. “Oh, I know why, Pinky. You’re so little and I’m such a gigantic mutant Bruce. You're afraid of enormous things, I’m guessing?” Neptune said to Pinky.
Neptune felt very gloomy. She really didn’t want a petpet who was terrified of her!
“Well, don’t you worry, Pinky. I’m a very kind mutant Bruce. Did you know I’m going to be an island Bruce one day?” Neptune told Pinky. She stared at Pinky with her big yellow eyes. Neptune stroked and scratched Pinky on her back and head. She was much calmer than before. “I don’t care about your size, Pinky,” Neptune stated. “I like the way your small self is!”
It was now time for Pinky and Neptune to head back to Mystery Island. They boarded a ship to Mystery Island. Another neopet was on the ship as well. They looked at Pinky. They had a surprised stare on their face. “My, my, young lady,” the neopet said. “You've sure got a small weewoo in your hands!”
“Yes, I know,” Neptune replied. “She’s a one of a kind.”
They were almost near the island, and Neptune was very excited. She couldn’t wait until Muffin and Xyania saw Pinky!
A couple minutes after the boat had docked, Neptune started running for home, with Pinky flying not that high above her. Once she was just outside her house, she opened the door and shouted, “Hello? Is anyone home?”
And that’s when Muffin, the spotted Pteri, appeared, who was also Neptune’s sibling. “Hey Neptune, did you bring me a souvenir from Krawk Island?” Muffin asked.
“Um, no, but I got this!” Neptune pronounced. She showed Muffin the little weewoo. Muffin's beak hung open. He couldn’t believe what he saw. Now, yes, he was in shock because Neptune had bought a weewoo, but also because of her size.
“Xyania, look what Neptune has!” Muffin screamed. It terrified Pinky. Suddenly, a desert and shadow Hissi appeared. This was Xyania, who was also their sibling.
“Muffin, do not scream! Now, what’s the problem?” Xyania replied.
Muffin pointed out at what he screamed at. Xyania just stood and stared.
“Neptune... how did you... where did you... wow, that is one small weewoo if you didn’t notice it!” Xyania exclaimed.
“Uh, we all notice it’s tiny, Xyania. Her name is Pinky. She’s afraid of things that are practically forty times her size,” Neptune told both of them. Muffin chuckled.
“Pinky?” he thought. “Neptune has got to be kidding me!”
“Well, do you guys like her? She’s really charming, I have to admit. I named her Pinky because I want her to turn out to be a pink weewoo. Spiffy, huh?” Neptune told them.
“Well... if you really like her, I guess I don’t mind having a miniature weewoo around the neohome. She looks fairly polite,” Xyania confessed.
“Okay, thanks, Xyania, for the criticism,” Neptune continued. “Now, Pinky, would you like to meet the other petpets?”
Pinky looked very thrilled.
“I’m guessing that’s a yes! Now, go have fun with Muffin’s mazzew,” Neptune told Pinky.
Pinky flew off.
The next day, Neptune woke up to a grand yawn, and to her surprise, there was Pinky, sleeping on her bed. Pinky suddenly woke up. She also yawned, but it was much higher pitched. But there was something else Neptune was surprised about. Where was her Green Zafara plushie? Neptune had always slept with it. “Hey, where’s my Green Zafara plushie? I’ve must have misplaced it...” Neptune thought. But obviously Neptune was extremely depressed. If she didn’t have her plushie to snooze with, Neptune wouldn’t be able to rest peacefully!
“I must find it this instant,” Neptune said to herself. “Hey, Pinky, have you seen my Green Zafara plushie?”
Pinky turned her head, so it looked like it was crooked. Neptune sighed with sadness.
But Neptune was a speedy thinker, so the next thing she did was to ask Xyania.
Neptune left her room, and there Xyania was, lounging on the couch.
“Hey Xyania, I have a question for you,” Neptune said assertively.
“Yeah, what is it?” he asked.
“I have a problem. I can’t find my... ” Neptune was stopped by Xyania.
“Let me guess. Is it your Green Zafara plushie? Maybe check under your bed,” Xyania told Neptune.
“Thanks a million, Xyania!” Neptune exclaimed with happiness.
“Shush, Muffin is still sleeping, and you know how he is when is disturbed while he is sleeping!” Xyania whispered.
“Ha-ha, very funny, Xyania. I assure you, next time I will be quieter,” Neptune whispered back. She tiptoed back into her room.
Neptune got down on all fours and looked underneath her bed. And there was her plushie, sitting under her bed! But there was an even bigger problem. How would Neptune be able to actually get her plushie when she was a huge mutant Bruce with spikes covering her back? “Oh man...” Neptune thought. “I’ll never be able to have my plushie again!”
Just then, Neptune hatched up a plan. “Pinky, can you help me?” Neptune asked kindly. Pinky hopped down from her bed and looked underneath.
“I need you to get me that plushie over there, since you can practically fit through tight spaces. So, will you do it for me, Pinky?” Neptune asked again.
Pinky looked as if she were about to run a marathon. She raced over to the toy that was stuck. Using her beak, she grabbed the little plushie zafara’s tail and dragged to the clearing. Pinky had recovered the toy!
Neptune once again almost squealed with joy. “Oh, I can’t believe it, Pinky! You are my savior!” Neptune cheered. She picked up Pinky and gave her a great big hug. “So, remember, Pinky... ” Neptune went on, “you are the finest weewoo ever, no matter how big you are!”
