Quenching Your Thirst: A Guide to the Summer Heat

But wait, now it sounds like I’m totally hating on summer! Fellow Neopians (and those of you who are positively fuming at my angry outburst at summer), let me just tell you that summer is, indeed, my favourite season. It’s the best time of the year! Come on, let’s think about it: endless days accompanied with endless nights of warm weather; hours upon hours of soaking in the sun and toning up your tan; ample amounts of fun activities to do outside; the list can go on forever! Summer, without a doubt, is one of the best times of the year.

But, of course, everything has its drawbacks. Whether it be a delicious ice cream or a rather rotten smelling piece of cheese, everything has its positive attributes accompanied with its negative attributes. That is why, when it comes to summer, one has to point out its negative qualities as well as its positive ones. It’s only fair, right?

Well, back to the point. Summer is known for its blistering heat and burning rays of sunshine, which can make even the biggest fan squirm in his or her seat. It seems that even if you’re doing absolutely nothing while sitting in the sun (reading a book, tanning, or simply even talking with your best pal); your body breaks out into a light sweat. Following this sweat (don’t forget to grab some deodorant), comes an irrevocable and unbelievably nagging thirst. I know, just as I’m sure all of you do, that whenever I’m in the sun for reasonable amounts of time, I get extremely thirsty. And let’s not even get started on those athletes and adventurers out there who go out every summer day and contribute to numbers of activities. Only my sympathy can be given out to those poor souls.

So, to help those in need for those long months of summer ahead, I decided to compose a rather helpful (in my well-educated opinion) list of drinks which will quench your thirst during those long summer days. Be thankful you’re receiving this ahead of time – I wouldn’t want to be the sorry victim who got too lazy to read this article and therefore had to suffer through those hundred somewhat days of summer. Ah!

So here it is, folks! Love it or hate it, thank me or spite me. One thing for sure, though, is that in one way or another you will be desperate in those miserable days of scorching heat, and once your mind reflects back to this article, you will praise me (or so I hope).

10. Small Soft Drink

The name says it all. If you’re out for just a few minutes at a time, whether it be running to fetch the mail or simply watering the garden outside, a small soft drink would do the trick. It's small (how’d I guess?) and will not cause your stomach to overload on fluids after you’ve taken a few sips. For people who spend limited amounts of time outside, a small soft drink is plenty to help quench that undesirable thirst.

9. Strawberry Juice Carton

One of the greats. Of course, it is rather small, but the taste most definitely makes up for the size. Even one Strawberry Juice Carton is enough to quench the thirst that the overwhelming heat of summer can so often bring on.

8. Sparkling Twirly Fruit Juice

Everyone knows that on a hot day, fruit is the way to go. So why not blend in fruit and juice? Do that, and come up with this. Capable of quenching anyone’s thirst, this juice is a blessing!

7. Extra Large Fizzy Drink

The description sums it all up: The perfect drink for those hot summer afternoons. A cup of lemonade is ideal for any occasion, whether it be taking a break from a long and treacherous game of Gormball or enjoying a lazy day relaxing at the beach. A nice cup of lemonade is ideal for anyone.

4. Fizzy Apple Juice

Another classic makes the list. Heck, what’s life without apple juice? While you're having fun on a hot summer day, Fizzy Apple Juice is the way to go. It not only quenches your thirst, it also delivers your taste buds a pleasant treat!
