Faerie Fondants and a Priceless Plushie

by tennisblondie16

--------

Seana , a starry Uni, woke up in her Meridell home to the sound of shouting and arguing downstairs. She sighed and decided to go downstairs to see what it was this time. When she looked out her window, she could see the skies were grey and dreary. When she got downstairs, the house was almost unrecognizable. Almost everything was gone, and the house was empty with the exception of Rayanne's Neopian Times White Weewoo Plushie. Her owner Rayanne was in tears, while Minnie was trying to comfort her. "What happened?" Seana surprisingly asked.

"Someone broke into the bank last night and stole all of our money, so we had to sell everything to just have necessities. We're moving to Neopia Central," Rayanne said monotonously.

"WHAT? We're moving? But, Ray, my friends-"

"No arguments, Seana! Would you rather have us live on the streets?" Rayanne shouted back to Seana's outburst. Seana burst into tears and sat on the floor. Wiggles, her Faerie Meerca sister, came over to comfort her.

"It's okay, Seana, really! We'll start making Neopoints again, and everything will be fine." Seana nodded, defeated. There was no way she could get out of moving, and she should have been more supportive of Rayanne's decision. That's when she saw it: the Neopian Times White Weewoo Plushie!

"Ray!" Seana said cheerfully. Rayanne looked up. "We could sell your plushie and we could still live here! They're worth about five hundred thousand Neopoints!"

Rayanne had a terrible look on her face. "Oh, Seana, you don't think I thought of that? But I just can't give it up, I mean, this is a sign of hope to everyone who got published in Issue 150. I just…couldn't."

"Ray, who CARES if you got published? Who CARES about some dumb plushie?" Seana said before she could think.

Rayanne made to walk out of the room, but before she did she softly said, "I care." Splash turned to look at Seana.

"Nice going, Seana! Ray has enough stress on herself already!" Wiggles looked away from Seana, while Minnie, Ray's baby Kacheek, went upstairs to follow Rayanne.

"Look, I'm sorry okay? I just don't think that we should have to move when we have an expensive plushie to sell!"

"Seana, that plushie isn't just a plushie! Rayanne worked for it, and it's a symbol of Issue 150!" All of them went to their rooms and slammed their doors.

Rayanne called everyone downstairs. When they came down, another owner was standing in the room with a large sum in her hands. Rayanne held the Weewoo Plushie.

"Ray, no! Please don't sell it, I shouldn't have-" Seana tried to say, but Rayanne silenced her.

"Look, I've been thinking a lot these past few hours. This Plushie is just a plushie-Seana was right. The actual story is all that matters, not my trophies or any other prizes. I was selfish and stingy, and I apologize. Are you ready to finish off the trade?"

The other girl handed over her Neopoints, while Rayanne handed over the Plushie. The deal was done-they no longer had to move. Splash, a blue Peophin, came over to Rayanne and gave her a hug.

"Thanks, Ray." Seana came over, too, and hugged Rayanne.

"Yeah, thank you, Ray! We know how hard that was for you…" Soon the whole family was giving a group hug to Rayanne, who smiled radiantly.

"Maybe I should sell expensive plushies more often…I haven't seen you guys this close together without arguing since…forever!" Everyone laughed at this little joke. "OK, now what we really need to do is go to the Furniture Shop and buy some cheap furniture! Lets go shopping!" Everyone cheered and ran upstairs to get ready. Rayanne looked at all of the Neopoints in her hand, thinking, was it worth it?

Within a couple weeks, everything went back to normal. Of course, they didn't have their expensive, lavish furniture, but at least it was something! Seana and all of her friends were glad they were able to stay together. Rayanne was fine with the whole "Plushie" incident…or so it seemed. Deep down, every time she looked at that spot, she would feel a little twinge in her heart. It was actually quite silly to miss a plushie, but it had meant something to everyone in the family and they knew it…

Two of Seana's friends were coming over to Rayanne's NeoHome for a sleepover tonight, so Rayanne made sure the NeoHome was spotless. Eliana was a Faerie Usul, while Elena was a Fire Zafara. When Eliana and Elena walked in, the first thing they seemed to notice was the empty spot where the Neopian Times White Weewoo Plushie used to be. "Hey, so you really did sell the-" but before Eliana could finish her sentence, Seana stepped on her hoof.

"OW!" Eliana cried out. Rayanne looked over. "So we really sold what, dear?" Eliana, seeing the look on Seana and Elena's faces, replied, "Oh, never mind. I…just sort of forgot!"

With that, the three girls ran upstairs to Seana's room, Eliana's cheeks bright red. When they got inside, Seana closed the door. "What was that all about?" Eliana asked. Eliana didn't know about the Plushie yet.

"Rayanne had to sell the Plushie after their home was robbed. You know how much she obsessed-I mean, loved that plushie!" Elena explained.

"Wow, really? She sold it just so you could stay here? You're lucky, Seana! Your owner is so cool," Eliana replied.

"Yeah, I guess she is," Seana said, smiling. "Now, who wants to do makeovers?" All of the girls giggled as Seana, Eliana, and Elena all dumped their makeup on Seana's bed.

Elena's owner came over to drop off her forgotten toothbrush. Wiggles invited her inside, and the first thing she noticed was Rayanne's missing Plushie. She knew not to say anything, as Elena had told her what happened. However, when she saw Rayanne reading a short story with Minnie, Rayanne seemed undisturbed about it. Rayanne immediately got up when she saw Elena's owner, Jackie, standing in the hallway, her red curls still bouncing from her walk, and her cheeks were flushed. Jackie was a tall, slender girl with tan skin and curly crimson red hair. She was wearing a plain white shirt and denim jeans, but nonetheless looked fabulous. Jackie had that kind of effect on people. .

"Hey, Jackie! I haven't seen you in so long!" Rayanne said, going over to give Jackie a hug. The two owners hugged one another tightly as though they had not seen each other in years.

"I know! So, how are things with the house? Have you pretty much settled down now?" Jackie cautiously asked. She didn't want Rayanne to feel bad about the robbery.

"Oh, everything's just going fine, now! It's almost like the whole thing didn't happen!" Rayanne replied, laughing lightly. Jackie faked a laugh just to please Rayanne. She didn't find a robbery very funny at all. But she decided not to press the subject. "So, how would you like some homemade Faerie Fondants?" Rayanne asked her.

"Mmm, sounds scrumptious!" Jackie exclaimed. Faerie Fondants were her favorite dessert. Rayanne took a sheet of them out of her Fire Faerie Oven.

"Uh-oh, they might need to cool off first."

"That's okay! I should probably go give this toothbrush to Elena. That is what I came here for!" Jackie laughed, and went upstairs to Seana's room. She knew Rayanne's house only too well. When she opened the door, Elena had on piles of makeup so that she looked like a clown lunatic who escaped from the circus. Jackie's eyes popped out and her eyebrows rose as she set the toothbrush carefully on the Vanity Desk, and slowly made her way out, no one saying a word. When she had closed the door to Seana's room, she shook her head. Going down the stairs she could hear the girls laughing their heads off. In fact, she was sure the neighbors a block away could hear them laughing…

After Jackie had left with her dessert, Rayanne called the girls down so they could all eat as a family. They all screamed when they came downstairs. "FAERIE FONDANTS!" They raced to the table and started stuffing their mouths with the gooey dessert until there was nothing left. "Whreztamilk?" Seana said, her cheeks bulging with food. Rayanne have her a disapproving glare, until Seana swallowed an abnormally large piece of dessert. "Where's the milk?" she asked again. They all saw Wiggles pouring a glass of Kau Milk…the last of the Kau Milk.

"NOOOO!" The three girls screamed and made a dive for the milk. Wiggles dodged and quickly got out of the way. Seana grabbed the glass, with a triumphant "Yes!" until Eliana's Faerie Usul tail accidentally knocked the glass from her hands, where it bounced on Eliana's head, and fell to the floor. Milk splattered everywhere, including on the three girls. Seana tried to get a towel, but slipped on the milk and landed right in it, tripping Eliana who fell on the side of Seana, making Wiggles slap her tail the other way to avoid Eliana, which caused Elena to fall.

Rayanne just sat on the chair with her mouth open the whole time. She blinked at the sight before her. Then, just as Seana was expecting her to blow up with anger, Rayanne started giggling! She covered her mouth to stifle the giggling, but it was no use. She was laughing like a psychopath, as was everyone else when they saw each other. Elena's makeup was ruined by the milk and all runny on her face.

After cleaning the mess up, the whole family sat on the couches, relaxing. Today had been a hectic and eventful day. Just when everyone was about to go upstairs and get ready for bed (it was almost one o'clock in the morning), the doorbell rang of all things. Rayanne groggily answered the door. There stood the girl who had bought her Neopian Times White Weewoo Plushie. She held it in her hands. Everyone crowded around the doorway, confused.

"Well, after I bought this, I heard a rumor going around about your story. I didn't know it was true, until I remembered seeing no furniture in your NeoHome So, here--take this, and forget that I ever bought it. I don't need the money, and I can find another present to give to my pet. You earned this, and you deserve it." The girl handed a shocked Rayanne the Plushie. Rayanne was shaking.

"I really admire and thank your suggestion, but, miss, I don't need pity. As you can see, my family is doing fine, we really don't need it-" but before Rayanne could finish her rambling, the girl had silenced her.

"It wasn't an act of pity…it was an act of kindness and friendship. Maybe someday I'll see you in the future, eh?" The strange, generous owner winked and suddenly disappeared, with no trace she had even stood there. Everyone created a circle about Rayanne and the Plushie.

"Now I'll never give up this plushie…" Rayanne said, hugging the Plushie close to her heart. All the pets surrounding her pulled her into a group hug. Rayanne swore for a second she saw the Neopian Stars in the shape of a winking Weewoo…

"Hey, Ray, can we have some more of those Faerie Fondants? Only, this time, can we get some milk?"

THE END

Author's Note: Yeah, I know you all are thinking it's stupid to care so much about a plushie, and are probably wondering why Neopian Times Writers are obsessed with White Weewoos. Please read "Once in a White Weewoo" (which was not made by me, by the way. It was made by ridergirl333) to understand this concept. Oh, yeah and for anyone who's really keeping track, my faerie stories aren't gone! I just have to edit some of them! Thanks for reading and feel free to comment!
