Ever since the entire Ski Lodge incident we’ve wondered,
“What happened to Number 6?” His body was never recovered, the search
teams went down about as far as they could, but he wasn’t found. Some
think the robot Maverick attached a bomb to Number 6 and it blew him up,
but no one heard an explosion. I was fortunate enough to hear the real
story.
I was on a visit to my friend’s Blumaroo in Happy Valley
last weekend when I brought up the subject of the Ski Lodge. I eventually
asked, “Hey do you have any ideas about what happened to Number 6?” My
friend's Blumaroo then started a very interesting story.
“Well, a few weeks ago I found him weak in the snow.
I took him in and helped him back to good health. I asked him how he got
here. He told me his story. He managed to grab hold of rock and began
to climb back up. Being unable to make it back up the cliff that day he
hitched himself onto the cliff with a rope from his secret utility belt
so he could get some sleep.”
He heard the whole thing the next morning, the police
taking Maverick away, Maverick exploding, and everyone leaving. When he
got up the cliff nobody was there. He got some food from the kitchen and
left the Ski Lodge. Being unfamiliar with the mountain he struggled down
it. He was already running out of food when he got to the Ice Caves. He
had to start eating snow. In the Ice Caves he almost set up camp in the
Snowager’s Cave! After a while a very weak Number 6 eventually made it
down here. Unfortunately for him he didn’t meet anyone on the way down.
He had collapsed in the snow in front of my NeoHome when I found him.
After three days I woke up to find Number 6 gone and this,” He handed
me a small piece of paper with “Who is Number 1?” written on it.
“Why didn’t you tell anyone?” I asked him.
“I thought he might want a head start if he was trying
to get away,” the Blumaroo replied.
Even with this chapter of Number 6’s life deciphered
we are still left with a few unanswered questions: is Number 6 really
retired, where has he gone, and who is this Number 1? Hopefully we will
find out. One day, one day.
