For most NeoPets and owners it's their first summer;
for me it's my second. I adopted my pet, Flying_Fire_Ball, during last
summer. Over the year I have noticed things I should have done with my
pet during those warm days, and with this article I might just help you
not make the same mistake.
~ For starters those who have a NeoPet or NeoPets with
long fur, you might want to have your NeoPet's fur trimmed/cut. Long fur
adds to much weight when running around, and also acts like an extra heavy
coat in the sun. This will cause your NeoPet to be uncomfortable, and
not want to stay outside for very long. (Be sure to ask your pet if he/she
wants a hair cut, some may object to a certain kind of hair style. You
can always compromise how the hairstyle is)
~ Try playing with your NeoPets at least once a day
outside. Come on! It's summer! You need to enjoy the sun! Even if it raining,
a stroll in the puddles is fun. If it is windy, try flying a kite.
~ Every other day or so, try some new activity. You can
ride bikes, go to the park, have picnics, visit the wishing well, have
a shopping spree, and the list goes on and on. With new activities spreader
out over the summer, your pet won't get as bored.
~ Another tip is giving your NeoPets different types
of foods. A Hot Burnup might not be the best idea during the heat waves.
Try some Slushies, winter food, or popsicles. Watch out for those popsicles,
if you are a Chia owner though!
~ If you, the Owner, has a extremely busy summer ahead
of you, then see if you can find your NeoPets some more and new Neofriends.
This is especially good if you only own one pet (like me). You can sign
your NeoPets up with certain guilds, clubs, or the pets in you neighborhood.
Having your NeoPets with new/more Neofriends might help your NeoPets
have more fun. They might not be as bored when you have an extremely busy
summer and you're crunched for time.
~ This next tip is kind of actually goes with the last
category, but it is so special I decided to make it a tip on it's own.
I extremely suggest that you sigh up you NeoPets up with the local pool
for swimming. It is a great way to exercise, it will keep you pet cool
in the water, and it will help keep your NeoPets fit. Now before you
start flaming me saying "But I have a Fire Based NeoPets!", I would
just remind you that I have one too. Hence the name "Flying_FIRE_Ball".
I would always go swimming in the pond while my little one always practice
flying/floating/hovering/whatever. One day she decided that she wanted
to find out what was so fun, so she dove into the water with me! Surprise,
Surprise! She loved it, and so I have been teaching here this past fall/winter/spring
how to swim in an indoor pool. Besides, even if your pet turns out to
reject the water that much, they can always lie out in the sun with the
rest of the NeoPets taking swimming breaks. Just try it.
~ Speaking of water, remember that your pet needs a healthy
diet and plenty of water. Too munch junk or not enough water can hurt
your NeoPets health. Juices can also be used, but too much soda/pop/sodapop
can hurt more than help your NeoPets. Soda/pop/sodapop can have too
much sugar, and be really sticky.
These tips can help make your summer a little bit more
enjoyable, and your NeoPets summer a lot more enjoyable! And hey, isn't
this why we have own NeoPets, to have fun?
