Complete Darkness

It was one warm night when the Dark Faerie thought of this evil plan to take over the day. You see, the Dark Faerie was in control of the night, and the Light Faerie was in control of the day. But the Dark Faerie's plan was to take over the day also! She was sitting in her dark purple castle which was behind the Faerie city. The night was about 32 degrees Celsius(91F). She was in rule of Faerie land until the sun came up, which meant that the Light Faerie would take over in rule until the sun went to bed. "I LOVE being in control, but all the good things happen in the day time!" She thought to herself as she sat on her front porch. "I want to rule the day!"

As the sun started to come up, she went to visit the Light Faerie "Hello wonderful Light Faerie!" She said as she shook the Light Faerie's hand. "How about we make a compromise?"

"What sort of compromise are you thinking of, Dark Faerie? Should we bring in the other 4 Faeries for a meeting?"

"Oh, no! This is between you and me. I think I should be able to be in control of the day."

"But that is my time to be in control, you CAN NOT have the day, you will probably turn it into night also! Then when would it be light outside?"

"You don't understand, if it is dark ALL THE TIME, then you will stand out more! Because you will be the only light!"

The Earth Faerie walked in. She was wearing her traditional green dress, and she walked ever so gracefully. "I heard you two arguing, what is it about this time?" She was right, they had been arguing for many years. The Dark Faerie and the Light Faerie were complete enemies! Why? Because they are complete opposites! One is light and one is dark, what else do they need to argue about?

"The Dark Faerie wants to take over the day as well as the night! She wants to make it dark all the time!" The Light Faerie yelled this so loud that the Air Faerie flew in through the open window.

"WHAT IS GOING ON? I'm trying to have a flying class outside here, and you are disturbing it!" The Air Faerie has a very large temper problem. "These baby Scorchios won't be able to fly if they can't hear my instructions! I've had 2 fall to the ground already, and we are only 2 minutes into class!"

"The Dark Faerie wants to make it so it's dark all the time, even at day! How am I going to make food grow if it is dark all the time?" The Earth Faerie complained.

"Does this mean we are going to have a Faerie meeting? Do I have to cancel my class? For the fourth week IN A ROW?" The Air Faerie looked like she was going to blow, her face turned bright red, and her hair was standing on it's ends.

"Yes, I think we should have a meeting in 5 minutes. Air Faerie, could you go and get the Water Faerie and the Fire Faerie too?" The Light Faerie was a little scared to ask, but it would be the easiest for the Air Faerie to get them, since she knew how to swim and she could withstand hot places.

"Of course! Why don't I go and get all of Neopia too!" The Air Faerie said as she stormed out the window. All the Faeries looked at each other and shrugged their shoulders, and headed to the meeting room.

This room was most beautifully designed. Each Faerie had a chair with decorations that they designed. The room was shaped like a hexagon, and each Faerie had one side. The Queen Faerie got a side too. Her side was a beautiful light purple with diamonds jewels all over the place. The Water Faerie's was decorated with sea pearls. And the Air Faerie's was decorated with clouds, and it almost looked like heaven. The Light Faerie's side was bright yellow with suns and moons and stars shining all over it. While the Dark Faerie's side was decorated with black. The Fire Faerie's side had flames climbing up the walls, and her chair was heated at a VERY HOT temperature that only she could stand. The Earth Faerie's side looked like a little jungle. There were little flowers and trees and monkeys all over the place.

The Air Faerie entered with the Water Faerie and Fire Faerie not far behind. All of the Faeries sat down in their places. The Queen Faerie flew in with her guards so close to her you wouldn't know they were 3 different bodies.

"All right! What's it about THIS TIME?" The Queen Faerie bellowed.

"The Dark Faerie wants to take over the day! And I DISAGREE!" The Light Faerie answered.

"Dark Faerie, you already have the night, why do you want the day too?" The Fire Faerie asked.

"Because all the good stuff happens in the day! I don't have any cool decisions to make because everyone is asleep when I'm in rule!"

"Well you don't get the day, and that's FINAL!" The Queen Faerie said as she flew out the window with her guards close at hand.

All the Faeries left except the Dark Faerie who sat in her chair thinking of a plan.

The next night came, and the Dark Faerie was thinking again. "I know! I will make a big black blanket to cover all of Neopia!" With a wave of her arms, there was a big black velvet blanket folded neatly in a pile before her. She whistled and a bunch of Shoyrus came. "Put this up in the sky of Neopia!" All 3,000 of them flew up and started covering the sky with this gigantic cover.

When day came, there was no sun! There was no light! The Light Faerie got out of her bed of beauty, and got her phone to call the Queen Faerie

"She must have put a spell on Neopia, it's dark outside! What are we going to do?" She desperately asked the Queen.

"She doesn't have that much power. I will fly up into the sky to see what is going on. You call all the rest of the Faeries and tell them to meet me in the meeting room!" With that the Light Faerie hung up and told the rest of the Faeries to come to the meeting room.

They all were murmuring to each other as the Queen Faerie walked in looking very angry. "Dark Faerie, please step forth and tell the rest of the Faeries what you did."

The Dark Faerie stood up, and said, "I kind of like the night! Nope, NEVER!"

The Queen Faerie then said, "She put a black blanket up in the sky so we would think it was night, or so it would be night forever."

"How did you find out?" The Dark Faerie asked.

"Those Shoyrus are so easy to get stuff out of. Ask them anything, and they could go on for days with every little detail. As your punishment there will be light in the night time. There will be stars and one moon up at night, and so it will never be completely black!"

"But I..." All the Faerie giggled.

So you now know the story of Neopia, why there is stars and a moon are up at night. The Dark Faerie will never have complete darkness EVER AGAIN!
