A Guide to Loving and Caring for Your NeoPet

I'll bet that sometimes you get annoyed with your pet always being hungry, or always complaining that "the other pets have more toys". I bet you wish you could just get food and items easy and the rest would be done for you. Well I hate to break it to you, but that isn't going to happen. You're going to have to work to keep your pets going. Luckily, though you can't stay away from the hard parts, you CAN make it easier to cope with them.

Part 1: Money

There are lots of people on NeoPets. I bet that half of them are doing okay, a quarter are rich, and a quarter are poor. Let's face it folks, you can't care for pets without money. Well here are a few money making suggestions.

1. This is the easiest--open a shop! You'll probably end up getting more money than you spent ON the shop. Try to make your shopkeeper and what you say to the customers friendly. "Buy or I'll beat your NeoPets in the Battledome!" won't make much NP! Another thing that helps is to price your items fairly. Don't make a blue trading card and a purple one the same price. And don't make everything in the 10 to 50 thousand. If there's something I can't stand, it's shops with fancy backgrounds and pics, but every item is over 30 or 40 thousand NP That is unfair to poor people. How would you like it if every shop you went to had prices too high?

2. Play games This is easy. Just find a game you like that gives more Neopoints than it takes, and play it! The contests can also give you fast Neopoints if you want them. I recommended the games Cheat!, Tyranu-Evavu, The Lenny Conundrum, and any type of Luck & Chance game that can give thousands if you hit the jackpot!

Part 2. Food & Toys

Here we go. You knew this was coming. Food. It seems to never be there when you need it. And in the shop wizard it's always to expensive. Well, one thing you could try is staying near the shops area and going to food shops every 2 minutes or so. Also, the chocolate shop and slushie shop aren't as likely to be without food. If you're running low on money, just buy the small and inexpensive items. Finally, try shopping for food in other worlds. Most people shop in the main shops area, not in the other worlds. Especially try Happy Valley and Terror Mountain. Toys & other items: These are pretty easy to get. Don't think that the larger, more fancy and expensive toys and makeup will make pets happier. They'll be happy with anything that entertains them!

Part 3. Diseases and low HP

Every Neopian deals with diseases or low HPs some time or another. The Wheel of Excitement, or just walking around can make your pets sick. My former pet Skye_26 got Neopox 3 times! And after a battle, your pet will be left weak whether it won or not.

For the battle weaknesses, just try a healing potion. The higher HP your pet is, the harder healing it is. If it's between 10 and 15, healing potions I, IV, and X will work well, There may be an HP or two left to gain, so healing potions I, II, and III work for that.

Then there's the Healing Springs. The good old water Faerie can really help a hungry of sick pet. Just remember not to go there during a battle! Finally, there is buying medicines. I can't explain much about that!

Part 4: Games with Your Pet

There are many good games where your pet is the main player. In Cheat!, it's your active pet versus the three other players. In Kacheek Seek and the Great NeoPet Hunt it's you vs. your pet. With Guess the Card, you and your pet are together trying to be "Psychic". These can all help with your pets happiness and intelligence.

Entering pets in contests like The Beauty Contest and The Pet Spotlight can also build a pet to its best. But please don't brag if your "lil angel" is always winning!

Part 5: Intelligence

Ahhhh, yes. We all want to have genius pets. But just sitting there WON'T make your pet an Einstein! Read it books! The more, the better! Size doesn't matter, just feed your pet all the books you have! Playing mind games with your pet can also help.

Part 6: Strength

I've noticed that of all things, a lot of owners want their pets to win in the Battledome and be the strongest ever. Hey, we all do!

First, battle a pet with the same level and HP just to give your pet a fighting chance. Then give it a training class or two. It's mainly the classes that bring your pet up. Finally, treat your pet well, equip it with good items, and feed it regularly.

Part 7: I love it, I love it not

Are you sick of a pet? Do you regret creating that Grarrl? Have you decided you like Lupe more than Lenny? Abandoning a pet is a very painful thing. If you do decide to abandon your sweet Acara, or your tough Jetsam, then do yourself and another pet a favor. Adopt a pet in its place. Who knows, you might find just the one for you. But don't increase the population every time you abandon a pet. Creating just makes there more and more pets to worry about, and more in the adoption center.

Part 8: Love you 4-ever!

Do you REALLY love your pets, and to everything listed above to care for it? Or are you mainly here to get NP and to chat with friends? If you're a true fan, bring it OFF of the net! Tell your friends about it, or send them a pet. Try drawing a pet!Make pics, posters, bookmarks, and decorations with your favorite little creatures on them. Buy a shirt, or MAKE one that features your pet!!! After all, a pet IS for life. Show it how much you love it.
