He blinked once or twice to get used to the darkness. He turned to Sheeka, Rank, and the annoying Lavi.

"Do what I do, or it's gonna be hard for you," he said, and started to the hole to which he had to go through to get to the treasure.

He blinked once. Then twice.

"Nabooru!" he ran to the shadow of the woman's figure. She turned and found herself face to face with her loyal Lupe standing in front of her.

"Spirit? Where were you? One of the Gerudo Guards had come and told me that you went missing. What happened?" she asked, relieved he was home.

"It's a long story. I'm gonna guide Rank through here. Then I'll come back to you," he told his beloved owner, and he started through the hole.

Spirit led Rank through that traps, puzzles and battles. They finally stood at a door. "You have to go in there. There is this knight guy who will try to kill you. I suggest bombing him. Once you beat him, a door will open and the treasure lies through there..." he told Rank.

"Thank you."

"I'm doing it for Nabooru," Spirit said to him and Sheeka wished him luck.

When Spirit and Sheeka went back to the hole entrance, Nabooru wasn't there. They went through the temple doors, and there she was. But she wasn't alone.

Sheeka hissed..."It's Koume and Kotake!!!!" and Spirit knew that she was right. Koume and Kotake were here to get Nabooru. And Spirit realized that it might be too late.

A vortex opened beneath Nabooru, and she started to fall in.

"Rank! Get outta here! They're using black magic on me!" then she screamed, "Spirit! Get the Shieka boy! I helped him! Get him outta here. Please! Don't worry about me!"

It was then that Sheeka realized Shiekan was over at the palm trees.

She ran to him and cried, "Shiekan! You're back." And then Shiekan was crying to. It would've been a perfect happy ending if Nabooru wasn't sinking away.

Spirit looked up at Rank, and screeched," Get outta here!" And then he turned to Sheeka and Shiekan and told them the same thing. Spirit told Sheeka he'd be all right, and that he had fulfilled his promise, and that if Shiekan was here any longer, he'd be taken back, and he would have broken his promise.

So, with a tear filled eye, Sheeka left. Spirit looked towards the hole that was eating away his mistress. She was up to her neck in that evil vortex. Spirit had to make up his mind. The choices: Not good. He had to either leave Nabooru for a long time, or stay with her, at evil control.

It was then he remembered, "do not fall for the trickery of evil. Stand strong through out their torments."

That is what Ampa had said. Then he remembered another persons words. "I could easily escape, but I can't leave without him."

Nabooru was gone, the vortex closing. Spirit made up his mind.

"We stand stronger together than alone," he told himself, and with that, he jumped into the vortex. And was gone.

It would be several years until Spirit would regain himself. Until then, he was doing the work of Gannondorf, and the dark Faerie.

It was on this day he was saved. Spirit woke up, dazed. Above him, the witches hovered.

"She's up," one said.

Only now did Spirit realize Nabooru sitting in front of them. He ran over to her and nearly cried. He couldn't speak.

"It's that pesky dog of hers, Koume."

"So it seems, Kotake."

Spirit snarled at the witches, bearing his fangs. Impressive, but not enough to scare the witches.

"He thinks he can protect her, Koume," Kotake cackles.

"So it seems Kotake," the other cackles back.

Spirit snarled again, and out of the corner of his eye, he saw a youth. He didn't recognise him until he saw a Faerie. The same annoying Faerie he had seen with Rank.

"Rank?!" his bewildered voice could be heard all around.

The youth nodded, recognising both the Lupe and Nabooru.

Spirit and Nabooru had no idea what hit him when Koume and Kotake fired their spells at them.

All Spirit could recall seeing last was his owner, being hit by those awful witches.

It was some time later, maybe a day, that Spirit found himself awake again.

He found himself in a chamber. Nabooru stood, talking to Rank.

She gave him a medallion, and he left. Leaving owner and pet alone together.

Nabooru turned to him and smiled. He grinned wolfishly back. It wouldn't take long before the demise of Gannondorf, or the Dark Faerie.

About 6 hours later, the voice of Princess Helga, (and Spirit had later learned that she indeed had been Shiek, as he had guessed) call out to the six sages. Rauru, Saria, Darunia, Princess Ruto, Ampa, and of course, Spirit's beloved mistress Nabooru.

The 6 sages imprisoned both Gannondorf and the Dark Faerie within the evil realm.

Again, (Spirit was now used to it) the six sages and Spirit were returned home, his original time.

Spirit found himself sitting at his fortress, the one he had so missed, in the arms of his owner. He smiled at Nabooru, and she smiled back. He had been right. We stand stronger together than alone.
