NeoHomes, Are They Worth It?

by Devilish_Kacheek

In this article I am going to look at the good and bad points of NeoHomes and what you do to get a NeoHome. When I read a Neopian newsletter I was thrilled to hear that my four adorable pets could have their very own home. A few months later my thoughts were granted and voila here are NeoHomes.

What do you do?
You apply for a NeoHome, it can be in Neopia or Faerieland or Maraqua and so on and so forth. The prices range from 1,000 NP to 25,000 NP and it then takes a day to process your application. After finding out whether or not your application for land has been accepted then you can create your home (if accepted).

Your NeoHome can be a trashy, cheap-o home or a luxurious and expensive mansion. There are around 14 rooms on the ground floor and the same on the second floor. You click on any area and a small box should load this is where you create your room.

Firstly, choose your material whether it be cardboard costing a 150 NP or the most expensive material transparishield costing a hefty 14,500 NP per room. It depends how rich you are personally. These can take up to a day to process this depend on how many applications they have. Note you can only have one room being created at once. After a room has been created click on that room to give it a name and what it is for example a lounge.

After creating several rooms you can then add wallpaper, insurance, floor, lighting, heating and a security system--to name just a few. These all cost money to upgrade, for example, the highest for floor is marble and that costs 350 NP per room.

Furniture can also be added to a room so that you do not have a plain empty room. Things such as bean bags, drawers, cupboards and so on can be added these prices do vary quite greatly. Keep adding rooms, furniture, extension options, and soon you can expand your land so that one can have even more rooms!

The Good Points
The good points are all very obvious

-Your pets can live in a house.
-It can really show off how much $$$ you've got, not that you'd like to rub it in anyone's face or anything.
-It is a fun way of learning how to become financially aware.
-It is a way of learning of others as you can find out who your neighbours are and become Neofriends.
-Soon you will be able to have house warming parties and other fun.
-Your pets will be much happier as they will not be on the streets.

The Bad Points
With all the good comes the bad, so be warned. Think about the bad too!

-NeoHomes can come with a hefty price as rooms vary in price, depending on what material you decide to use.
-Without any extension options for all the rooms made out of transparishield will cost you a gigantic 408,000 NP or more. So one must be extremely rich to please your pets.
-Rumour has it that NeoHomes will soon be having taxes, so this is even more money to spend.
-I have spent over 75,000 NP on a home and am very poor, so be warned it does create debts.

A note from the reporter
I hope you have fun with your NeoHome and remember it is just a game. BUT NEVER GIVE YOUR PASSWORD TO ANYONE.
