The First Adventure Begins
"I'm hungry!" moaned Golden after the 5th day of their traveling. "When can we stop to eat?"

They were in another city, far from Neopia, although still being in the Neopian County. "All right. Let's find a place to eat," said Sam, looking around for a cafe or restaurant. "There's a nice place." She pointed to a little cafe on the corner of a street. They walked to the cafe and Golden and Silver found a table while Sam ordered food. Sam came back with a tray full of their favorite foods.

"Dig in!" she said.

As they ate, they argued over the place they should go first. Their map laid spread across the table. "I think we should go climb Terror Mountain," said Silver.

"No, it's too cold there!" said Sam. "How about some place warmer. like the Mysterious Island?"

"I want to go to.....Faerieland," said Golden dreamily.

"Now why on earth would we want to go somewhere that girly?" asked Silver.

"Well I want to," snapped Golden.

"'C'mon you guys. Don't fight," said Sam. "How 'bout we go to the Endless Plains? I've heard that there's tons of stuff to do there."

"Well, okay. But can we go to Faerieland after that?" asked Golden.

"Sure," said Sam.

Silver let out a loud, "Humph!"

"And then we can go to Terror Mountain if you want, Silver," added Sam.

Silver's expression brightened. "Are we gonna set up the tent and camp out in the outskirts again?" asked Silver.

"Yup," replied Sam.

They ate all they could hold, scooped the left over into Sam's pack and set off to the outskirts. Sam set up the tent and they climbed in. They were not cramped because this tent wasn't ordinary. It was very big but you could fold it up to pocket size if needed. They rolled out sleeping bags and climbed in them.

"You guys should get a good night's sleep," mumbled Sam from her sleeping bag. "We'll need to get up early if we want to get to the Endless Plains."

"Whatever. G'night," said Silver and Golden drowsily.

"Silver, wake up sleepy head!" said Sam from Silver's left.

"I don't want to," said Silver groggily. "Fine, I'll have to send my secret weapon on you!"

Then Sam started tickling Silver until he woke. Golden had already woken up from all the giggling and laughing Silver did when Sam tickled him.

"We have to eat, get packed up, then go to the Endless Plains," said Sam. She started busying herself with breakfast. They ate their bacon, eggs and toast in silence. Then, after eating as much as they could, they packed up and set off to the Endless Plains. They arrived at the train station at 2:30, which was 10 minutes before the train for the Endless Plains came.

"Three tickets to the Endless Plains, please," Sam said to the ticket salesman. She took out 60 nps and put them on the desk, then got their tickets. They waited 10 minutes until the train arrived. They chose seats in a compartment where they wouldn't be bothered except by the food cart lady. The train took an hour to reach their destination. While they waited, Sam read a book, while Silver and Golden played cards. By the time the food cart came, they were starved.

"Breakfast seems so long ago," said Golden as Sam bought 3 milks, sandwiches, crackers, and cookies. When the train finally stopped, they hobbled out onto the platform.

"Let's sit down," said Silver. "I always feel like not walking just after I get off a train."

They found a bench and sat down to look at the map. "This map says to go strait ahead north from the platform until you reach a padlock like fence where a man let's you enter," said Sam as she read the map. "So, 'onward and upward to the great unknown!'"

They walked in the direction the map had directed them until they got to the man.

***

The Plain Beast "How many in you're party?" the man asked.

"Three," said Sam.

"Have a great time then," said the man.

"If you get lost, just send up one of these flares and we'll come get you."

He handed Sam a 20 package of flares. Sam looked a bit bewildered. "I hope he really doesn't mean people get lost," she wispered after they were out of earshot from the man.

They walk through the gate. As soon as they walked through that gate, their whole world seemed to dissolve. Where they stood now was a large grassy field where every so often they’d see an owner's or pet's head poke out from the long grass.

"Well, let's start exploring!" said Golden.

They set off, constantly turning their heads around, trying to see everything. They walked for what seemed like hours, sometimes running in to another owner and saying hello, but not really seeing anything unusual or spectacular. After an hour or so, they heard a strange sort of rustling behind them. Before they could even turn around, something pounced on Silver.

"Ahhh!!!!!!" he screamed. He managed to get loose of the thing's grip, and wobble around for a few seconds. Then they turned to see a huge, monstrous, ugly, beast coming toward them. It was hairy, extreamly ugly, smelly, big, smelly, noisy, and did I mention smelly?

"Run for your lives!!!!!" shrieked Sam, as they ran with all their strength to the gate again. By the time they got to the gate, the monster had been long gone.

"There's...a....monster...out...there..!!" gasped Sam as they reached the man.

"What?!?!" said the man looking bewildered.

"There's a huge monster out there!!" repeated Sam.

"Oh deary me!!" said the man. "I'll have to inform the Rescue Squad and get all those other people out!"

And with that, he hurried off. As they walked to the town again, they all agreed that they had a great adventure.

"In 2 days, we can go to Faerieland, Golden. I don't think there'll be any monsters THERE," said Sam. Golden let out a whoop of joy and then they set up a camp, and fell asleep.

To be continued...
