Eccentric Faerie 2: Lost in a Dream

Read the very first story of the Eccentric Faerie

A year has passed since our last adventure with the Remembrance Faerie...

"You win again," said the Remembrance Faerie. She had lost in a game of Cheat. The Light Faerie, the Fire Faerie, and the Water Faerie were beginning to get ready to play another game.

"Sorry ladies, I am out this game," said the Remembrance Faerie. "I promised Alex and Shyne that I would meet them at Neopia Park at noon."

"WAIT!" screamed the Dark Faerie. She came in with her dress all shredded up and out of breath. "There is an unknown evil force out there. I barely got away before he could capture me. He said that he need all six of us to go through with his plan." The Dark Faerie lifted her gown to show a cut on her knee dripping black blood on the palace floor. Then she collapsed to the ground.

"If anyone goes out there," started Earth Faerie, "he'll capture them."

"Here," said the Faerie Queen. She shot a purple beam at the Remembrance Faerie. When the evolving was finished, the Remembrance Faerie had looked like a regular Neopian teenage girl. "Your name shall go back to Patina as long as you are out of the Palace. I know your friends are waiting. This will hopefully keep you safe. Run along."

Patina caught a cloud back to Neopia. The wind glided through her blonde hair. She always hated blonde but anything to let her see her friends.

She soon arrived at the park. "Hey Remem-" Alex was cut off by a silver patch over his mouth. Patina quickly looked around to see if anybody had seen that. She walked over to Alex and took away the patch.

"My name is Patina. I am undercover as long as you don't go telling everybody in Neopia," said Patina half angry but yet, half joyful to see Alex.

"So, why are you so jumpy?" asked Alex.

"Let's talk somewhere no one will hear us," she said. She looked down and noticed Shyne wasn't there. In fact he hadn't been their at all.

Alex saw Patina's wondering look. "He's sick. Let's go see him," answered Alex before Patina could ask.

They walked down Eyrie Lane and came upon Alex's house. It was a two story building. In the front was a library that Alex and Shyne had opened since books proved to be a little help a year ago.

"Hold on, let me help this customer," said Alex. He rushed over to the man waiting at the front desk. Suddenly he fell to the ground. "Stupid floor boards, they always come loose." Then he burst with laughter.

When he got to the counter, he saw the man's face. It was hideous but he tried not to look at it so much for fear he might insult the customer. "Would you like to check these out sir?"

"Yes, please," said the man in a hoarse voice. He sounded angry. Alex picked up the books and read the titles, How to Capture a Faerie, Ways to Harm a NeoPet, and Telekinesis: How to Over Come It.

"Do you have a signed note from an Uber Faerie?" Alex asked with a concerned look. "I am sorry sir, I cannot let you take these books. They are from the Restricted Section and without a signed note, you can't get these."

As Alex started to carry the books to there original place in the Restricted Section when the man grabbed his wrist. Alex dropped the books in fright. "Let go of me!" Alex shouted.

"Listen hear, boy, I want these books. Give them to me, NOW!" shouted the man.

"LET HIM GO!" shouted Patina. She shot a silver beam at the man. He dodged it just in time. It was about to hit Alex but he held up his free hand. His telekinetic powers stopped the beam in mid air.

There was a blinding pain in Alex's wrist. The man had done something to him that made him faint. The man let go and went over to Patina. Patina was so angry that her fake identity broke, releasing her true identity, the Remembrance Faerie. The man placed his hand on the Remembrance Faerie's forehead and she soon fainted.

Alex and Patina woke up in a weird world. There seemed to be no floors or walls. They seemed to be walking on air alone. Silver and black fog was all around them. They began to walk when all of the sudden, Shyne showed up.

"PATINA!" he shouted in joy. "Now that you are with me, I know their will be no harm."

"Well, I am not even sure my powers will work here," she said sadly. "But I won't let them harm you. Can you tell me how you got here?"

"I was in my room reading a book when a strange man grabbed my tail and that hurt really bad. The next thing I knew, I woke up in here," said Shyne.

“Well, at least we know you got here because of the strange man,” said Alex.

“You can stop calling me ‘strange man.’ I have a name,” a voice said from behind them. They turned around to see the strange man that was in the library. He had an evil smirk and a hand in his pocket. Alex could make out that he was holding something that was hidden in his pocket. “My name is Professor Dream.”

Alex held out his hand to use his telekinetic powers to try and get whatever Prof. Dream was holding in his pocket. His powers didn’t work. “Why do you even try,” Prof. Dream said. “You don’t think I read the books you dropped in the library? This is my dream. I have created it. I have read the books to block every power that you three had. However, I could not prevent you from using them on anything but me. So you may use them whenever you wish, just not on me.

“I have already gotten the Dark Faerie. She is somewhere hidden in this wonderful place. You’ll know when I have captured an Uber Faerie because the fog will add whatever color the Faerie represents. There is no way out. There are also hidden dangers such as a dragon, a swarm of killer bees, and even acid rain.

“I have to wake up now. I have five other Uber Faeries to catch.” In an instant, Prof. Dream was gone.

“That is just rude,” said Shyne.

“Well, there is only one thing to do,” said Alex. “That is to play along with Dream’s sick and twisted game until we work a way out.”

They walked a few miles and soon became worried. They would never seem to get anywhere. Then suddenly, a dragon appeared. The dragon breathed a ring of fire around them so that they couldn’t get out.

“Stand back!” shouted the Remembrance Faerie. "I can handle this one."

She stood in front of the dragon. She took her ground. The dragon breathed a fiery breathe on her. The fire seemed to go everywhere and surrounded her. The flame stopped and she was with out a scratch on her.

Suddenly she collapsed. She was harmed. Not physically, but emotionally. Alex stared at the dragon. It began to breathe on him. The flames surrounded him. The flames sparked something in Alex's mind. He began to feel sleepy and soon fainted.

Soon Shyne became very scared as the the dragon inhaled preparing to roar with flames. Suddenly he was hit with a ton of water. He melted away into smoke. Shyne looked over to see the Water Faerie. She had a huge grin on her face. Shyne ran to her and hugged her.

"Shyne," she began, "I can't stay here long. See, my fins, they are drying out and I am soon going to pass away if you do not wake the Remembrance Faerie. When she fainted, she dreamed me in here."

Shyne ran up the the Remembrance Faerie and woke her. Soon, the Water Faerie disappeared. Alex soon awoke. They rejoiced over their defeat.

They walked on for a while when something weird caught their attention. There seemed to be a portal. It was swirling with blue, yellow, green, red, and purple clouds.

"What should we do?" asked Shyne.

"Let's jump in," said Alex, "We've got nothing to lose." They all agreed. The Remembrance Faerie went first, followed by Alex with Shyne in his arms. They seemed to be on a slide, swirling down and down. The slide ended and they began to fall into the unknown.

"FLY!" the Remembrance Faerie shouted. She spread out her bird wings and slowly drifted down. Shyne spread out his wings. Alex didn't catch his feet fast enough and continued to fall.

Alex soon fell so far that they couldn't see him anymore. "GO BACK UP!" shouted the Remembrance Faerie. Her and Shyne soon climbed out of the portal entrance. Shyne collapsed. He was worn out from all of the flying and small tears ran down his cheeks.

"It is okay," said the Remembrance Faerie trying to sound comforting. "We will get out of here somehow and then we will find Alex."

That seemed to cheer Shyne up a little bit. They decided that they would wait at the portal for a while and see if Alex comes back up. They soon fell asleep.

Shyne dreamed that he was with Alex and the Remembrance Faerie. They were in Faerieland racing on clouds. Alex pulled in the lead. Suddenly, the sky turned black and Alex slipped off of his cloud and fell into the blackness screaming "It's all your fault, Shyne. You should've flown down to get me!"

Shyne woke up with a mixture of tears and sweat. It took awhile for his eyes to adjust to the brightness of the world that he was in. Beside him lay the Remembrance Faerie. He sat there a while and watched her sleep.

"I am going to save Alex," said Shyne. He was determined to find Alex. He went to the portal and jump in. Racing down the slide he waited for the end. As soon as it ended, he spread his wings and dived down. He got something in his eye. His wings collapsed and he started to fall down below, into the strange unknown.

"Gotcha!" screamed the Remembrance Faerie. She grabbed Shyne by the paw and raced back up through the portal hole. When they reached ground again Shyne thanked and apologized to the Remembrance Faerie.

He began to cry and everything turned into a blur. He couldn't see anything. He heard the Remembrance Faerie scream for him but he had no idea where she was. "DON'T LEAVE ME!" he cried.

Soon he woke up. He was in his bed. His book on his lap. He threw off the covers and ran out to the library section of the house. He saw the Remembrance Faerie laying on the floor. She soon woke up.

"We're obviously back in Neopia," she said. "Let's head up to Faerieland and find out what that dream was all about." They caught a cloud to Faerieland. Shyne was a bit nervous at first. They went to the Faerie Palace and saw all of the Uber Faeries and Alex there.

"About time you woke up," Alex said. He saw Shyne's and the Remembrance Faerie's confused looks and started explaining. "The Uber Faeries created that portal. They did it when Prof. Dream was asleep. I fell to the bottom and woke up in the library. Then I came here and they explained to me. We went to Prof. Dream and took away his so-called Dreamland. Then we came here and waited for you."

"What did Prof. Dream want with the Uber Faeries anyway?" asked the Remembrance Faerie.

"He only wanted you," said the Faerie Queen. "He found out that if he captured you, his Dreamland would be more powerful. He had no use for Alex. Only for you Shyne, and you Remembrance Faerie."

"Okay, I see now," said the Remembrance Faerie. "Well, at least we are safe here."

Soon Alex and Shyne went home and clean up the mess that Prof. Dream had made in there. It didn't take them long with Alex's telekinesis. They went to bed. They dreamed the best dream in the world. I cannot tell you what that dream is. Invading in one's dream is something one should never do.
