The Battledome Quest: Part Four

"So do you know where you're going?" Fleur looked in all directions as Jekins walked beside her.

"No, not exactly, but I'll find the market, we can take the money from Cora's till and we can leave. We'll go to the Battledome and win some extra money. How's that sound?" Jekins smiled.

"Okay, but let's hurry up. My feet hurt and there's a coconut over there that's looking at me," Fleur and Jekins walked for two hours until they found groups of people running along and going down a path. They followed them and found an information kiosk.

"Hi, where might I find Cora's shop, shop #12864?" Jekins and Fleur flinched at the sight of the man in front of them. His booming voice echoed and his large figure cast a shadow upon them.

"That hut right there." The man pointed to a bamboo house. Fleur and Jekins walked in to it and stopped dead in their tracks.

"Wwwhat is that?" Fleur's voice trembled. "I... don't... know...." Jekins stammered.

"Who goes there?" A big, rough, scratchy voice came from the back of the shop. "Um, it's me, Jekins. Who is this?"

Jekins watched Fleur as she trembled and shook. "This is your worst nightmare!" A great, big, shaggy Monocerous jumped out from behind the counter and threw himself at Fleur. Fleur ducked and the Monocerous slammed the door and broke the glass.

"No one hurts Fleur. Leave her alone, come after me you big brute," Jekins snarled but felt fear pushing on his heart. The Monocerous puffed rings of smoke out of his nostrils and came after Jekins this time. Jekins leapt right over the Monocerous, and it was fuming mad.

"Come here and fight like a man!" The Monocerous roared. It came after Jekins and landed right on top of him. Jekins hit the ground with a thud and he started to feel light headed. The Monocerous started to bite Jekins but POW!

"OWW! What was that?"

The Monocerous leapt off of Jekins and hopped around holding onto his bum. Fleur came up behind the Monocerous and pelted it again with the lightning gun.

"Didn't see that coming, did you?" Fleur finished him off with one more shot of the lightning gun and a kick. She stood on top of the unconscious Monocerous and chanted an air spell.

"What happened here? We heard you calling." Twenty or more Light Faeries came whizzing into the small shop and soon filled the air with light.

"Good! You came! I knew that spell would work! This, this thing attacked us. Would you mind taking it away? But wait before you do that. Let me call the Dark Faeries."

Fleur chanted some more and little black and purple figures came zooming. "What was the meaning of that? Setting a Monocerous upon two abandoned creatures?" a Light Faerie asked.

"They said they wanted to go in the Battledome, so I brought it to them." A dark Faerie spoke up. "Well, that is no reason to..."

"Would you stop arguing, I mean....."

"No, I will not. You set this Beast....."

"So what! You would have done the same if they said it nicely....."

"That's it! Now you're going down! Get over here!" The Faeries continued to argue with each other until the light Faerie started a REAL fight. Beams of light and black clouds shot across the room. The Dark Faerie set small wild animals upon the Light Faerie who blocked them with her light attacks. When the other faeries saw this they immediately joined in. Fleur ducked and jumped away from the attacks.

"What has happened here? Stop NOW!" A light purple shining Faerie came in and walked straight through the beams of light and black clouds without getting a scratch. She was a little bigger than the other faeries. She was the Queen Faerie. The Faeries kept on shooting at each other.

"Frozenrose!" the Queen shouted and all of the faeries froze, but not willingly. They fell out of the air and hit the ground with very small 'clicks'.

"Now girls, I told you that no more fights should happen for any reason, do you understand?" Now the Queen Faerie was really angry.

"Yes we understand. But these dumb Dark Faeries decided to set a Monocerous upon these NeoPets! I was only trying to defend them. You see I was NOT trying to HURT them like they were..." The Light Faerie pointed at the Dark Faerie through her frozen hand. "..Oh yeah, well they wanted the Battledome, so I brought it to them..." The Dark Faeries pouted.

"That's enough! Would you all like to be thrown into the Hidden Tower together for a couple of days? Now shoo. I'll take care of this."

The Queen Faerie waved her hands in the air and all the Faerie's disappeared. "Thank you for getting rid of them. I'm looking for a boy named Josh_078. Have you seen him around?"

Fleur smiled and looked down at Jekins. "Well I could summon him for you. Is that your owner?"

The Queen Faerie flew over to Fleur. "Whooosshh!"

"Fleur?? Why did the Queen Faerie summon me? Why aren't you at the orphanage?"

Josh_078 walked around the store still staring at Fleur. "I didn't like that darn place at all! Now do you want me back or what?" Fleur's eyes went beet red.

"No, that's why I got rid of you. Good-bye. Would you Miss. Faerie please get me back to where I was?" Josh_078 half yelled.

"Fine with me. Bye." The Faerie whooshed her arms again and Josh_078 was gone.

"Sniffle, can you please cure Jekins?" Fleur choked on her words.

"Yes I can. Let me call the Water Faerie in charge of the Healing Springs." The Queen Faerie sung a soft gentle tune and a blue green figure with fins glided in the room.

"I'll cure this Lupe...no problem."

The Water Faerie reached in to a clear bag and pulled out something silvery. She threw it on Jekins and he flinched. He climbed up and the two Faerie's disappeared. Fleur had no intention of telling Jekins anything that happened. "What has happened here?"

Cora walked through the door and saw Jekins. She saw Fleur crouched behind a large counter of meat and milk. "Jekins? Where have you been? I was so scared! I thought you'd go and then come back! But now I see you where going to leave for ever! Oh I love you!" Cora ran over to Jekins and hugged him so tightly that he couldn't move.

"I love you too Cora, but I can't leave Fleur. She has been my friend these days that I was gone."

Jekins looked at Fleur. She was in tears. "Oh! I know someone near to our house who will take Fleur in! His name is Ronnie_00. He wants to adopt. He already has a NeoPet named Fiusg. It's a Tuskaninny who loves to play and dance."

Cora took Jekins home, bringing Fleur with her. She introduces Ronnie_00 to Fleur and he adopts her. Two years later: "Jekins! Will you grab Pennii and Tolg? They're over there!" Fleur pointed to the white and light light blue pups playing in Jekins's back yard. Fleur and Jekins had five pups, two pure white, two light light light baby blue and one blue. They had two girls and three boys. Fleur still lived with Ronnie_00 and Jekins with Cora, but they saw and played with each other every day.
