Shoyrulan

by Alliecuno

A Legend, A Lie

They say she was unbeatable, that she could take out every opponent that ever challenged her. They say that she was a goddess. They say she never showed fear. "They say too much," said Shoyrulan. Every one always spread rumours of Shoyrulan's power. As she sat at her balcony, Shoyrulan looked down upon her estates. She silently got up and went to her mirror. "Why do they think I'm so good?" Shoyrulan said aloud to herself, "All I see is a red Shoyru"

"Then you should look deeper in your heart." Shoyrulan turned to find her blue Uni friend Khani. " You know that you are, like, the best Battledomer in Neopia," said Khani. It was true. "Remember your battle with Adee the Chia?" said Khani

[Flashback]
Shoyrulan stood nervously at her side of the arena. This would be her 100th battle, and maybe, her 100th victory. As soon as they were told to go, Adee used her fire ball attack, unable to dodge Shoyrulan took the attack. " Fight Fire, with Fire" said Shoyrulan, "Song of the Volcano!!!"

Adee was caught off guard and was worn down to low HP. "Time to finish this battle," said Adee, "Rainbow Frost Cannon!! Berserk Attack!!"

The arena seemed to explode due to the attack. Everyone thought Shoyrulan was down and out, but as the dust cleared, there she was proudly flying in the air. "Dragon Beam" announced Shoyrulan. Dragon Beam was an attack she had invented long ago. This attack ended the battle.
[End Flashback]

"You're the best," said Khani, "Gotta go now. Bye."

In two days, Shoyrulan had a battle with Koko the red Aisha scheduled. This scared her, Koko was one of the best. Shoyrulan looked in the mirror. Her image then blurred through tears, appeared even more sad. Shoyrulan fell asleep crying. They say she never cries.

More Lie Than Life

Shoyrulan was created by a cruel scientist. The minute she was born, the scientist abandoned her for his studies. A kind owner took shoyrulan in after seeing how young she was. Eventually, when Shoyrulan was about five, she went to live on her own, even though she was young.

One day, she accidentally wandered into the Battledome arena, where the Bread Master was awaiting a challenger. Entering that Arena was a mistake she'd regret for the rest of her life. Shoyrulan saw the crowed staring at her with wide eyes.

"Amazing," boomed the loud speaker, "a young level 1 Shoyru has challenged the level 20 Bread Master!" Shoyrulan realized her mistake then. The Bread Master used his magic pebble on Shoyrulan. That wore her down. Shoyrulan used a Shoyru's best defence mechanism--her wings. The Bread Master kept attacking her move after move, but nothing went high enough to reach Shoyrulan, who was flapping her wings in the air.

Finally, the Bread Master passed out, meaning the victor was... "Shoyrulan!!!!" the loudspeaker boomed. Shoyrulan was everyone's hero. She started training to be as powerful as they thought she was, and battling who they believed she could beat, until their wants controlled her.

"All I want to be is a normal pet," Shoyrulan would say to herself.

One time, her volunteer servants were bringing her things when Shoyrulan burst out saying, "I DON'T WANT ANY OF THIS!!!" Everyone stared at her. Shoyrulan quickly recovered saying, "I mean not in this room, put it in another room please."

Shoyrulan then grew sadder by the day, sometimes teetering on the brink of insanity. Shoyrulan acted as the crowed thought she would, thinking she had been doing this for so long, it was too late to think for herself. But every night, she dreamt of freedom.

Shoyrulan awoke early in the morning to do her daily training. She practiced all her moves, and did mental exercises to prepare herself. She ran and sparred and did push-ups, sit-ups, crunches, every exercise imaginable. One thing raced through her head that she ignored.

The Loss of a Legend

Shoyrulan flew to the arena as fast as she could. When she arrived, Koko was already there. Without a minute to spare, the two pets got all their gear on and hurried to their sides of the arena. Shoyrulan was in the blue half and Koko was in the red half. The bell was to ring any second now. Shoyrulan looked across and saw the Aisha's eyes burning into her own.

Then, the bell sounded and knocked Shoyrulan out of her trance. Shoyrulan used her famous opening and used a song of the volcano attack. Koko looked as if she was paralyzed. Then Shoyrulan walked up to her opponent and used a plain old punch on her. "Amazing!" boomed the loudspeaker, "Shoyrulan... NO WAIT, KOKO HAS A HOLD ON SHOYRULAN!!!!"

Shoyrulan had been squinting, but she opened her eyes and saw that this was true! Koko glared at Shoyrulan and tossed her in to the wall. Shoyrulan tried to use a skull bash, but Koko just stepped to the side, and shoyrulan crashed. Every attack Shoyrulan threw missed.

"What level is this, this thing?!?" Shoyrulan called to Khani.

"Level 1," Khani replied, "but her speed is beyond legendary!!!"

Shoyrulan used a quench to flood the arena. Koko just countered with a water breathing attack. Then Koko delivered a harsh blow using a grand lightning beam. The water carried the electric current and would not stop shocking Shoyrulan. Shoyrulan finally threw out her grass pendant which absorbed the water, but she was still hurt. Then the worst happened, the grass pendant took up so much water, it started to grow! Vines lashed out and pinned Shoyrulan to the wall, sucking the life out of her.

"And now," said Koko, "feel the wrath of an Aisha. Muahaha!!!" Koko used a fire ball, setting the arena in flames. Shoyrulan, with the last of her energy, put out the fire with a quench, then fainted. When she awoke, she couldn't remember anything, then everything rushed to her mind all at once. It was so confusing until she realized she had lost, everyone was staring at her, mocking her, throwing things at her.

Shoyrulan got up and ran home. When she finally got there she cried and whispered, "I'll never speak to them again, I'll never leave my room." Then she drifted off to sleep, where her answer awaited her.

A Perfect World

Shoyrulan seemed to awaken. "Where am I?" she said to herself, "I must be dreaming." She then noticed where she was. It was like a gigantic toy store with nothing but the best of everything. Shoyrulan ran down the aisles with a shopping cart loading it to the top. When she arrived at the counter, money for the items appeared out of nowhere!

Shoyrulan ran to the chocolate factory. She grabbed all the rare milk chocolate Kacheeks in stock. Then, when she got to the counter, more money appeared! Shoyrulan bought out every shop in Neopia.

"Too bad this is just a dream," she said, "Oh well, more dream food for me." Shoyrulan went out and bought her own dream house, it was soooo big, it only took up one fourth of a room to store all the items she got! Shoyrulan went out to the Faerieland and spun the Wheel of Excitement and then she went to Happy Valley .

In Happy Valley, Shoyrulan went to the Advent Calendar, even though it wasn't December! After traveling to all the worlds, Shoyrulan went to the games room. She got high records on everything. She won the jackpot on Kiosk, she even won the Neopian lottery jackpot! Everything was so fun and pressure free.

Suddenly Shoyrulan awoke. She looked outside to see that all the fans were gone. "I'm still not going back out there," she said to herself, "No matter how hungry, thirsty, or sad I get." Shoyrulan then started to think of good things in her dream world. She dreamt that she flew over rainbows, and became a royal Faerie pet with x-ray vision. She continued to sleep....

Shoyrulan looked around she saw a rainbow, just like the one she'd dreamt about. She flew right over it into the Faerie fields. "Come with me" Said the Uber Earth Faerie Shoyrulan was brought to the queen Faerie "Here" said the queen Faerie, handing her a paintbrush, "You're our hero". Shoyrulan looked at herself, she was a Faerie pet now! "Go fight the Dark Faerie" called the Uber water Faerie Shoyrulan ran around in Halloween town. She noticed a strange costume, then realized, she had x-ray vision. The one in the costume was the Dark Faerie. Shoyrulan had power and intelligence, and even her own free will. Ahhh, life was good.

Too Much of a Good Thing

For the last week, Shoyrulan had been asleep most of the time. She slept so much so that she practically lived in her dream world. The minute she'd awaken, she go back to sleep. Shoyrulan was now sleeping so much, it was getting dangerous. She never ate, drank, or even looked around. As far as she was concerned, the dream world was her home. Many pets feared the worst, for Shoyrulan hadn't left her house for eight days.

***

Shoyrulan strolled calmly in the dream world. She now had everything a pet could want. Shoyrulan walked down to the river where her boat was and got in. Three Peophins, one silver, one gold, and one bronze, pulled the boat around the Soda Pop Lake.

"Where to today?" asked the silver Peophin. "To the Chocolate Lake, then to the Caramel River," replied Shoyrulan. The Peophins pulled the boat across the Soda Pop lake, in to the mint candy stream, then finally to chocolate lake. "Let's go fishing," suggested the gold Peophin.

"A great idea," replied Shoyrulan. Shoyrulan got out her cherry wish stick and tied some string to it. "Go down and get me some sunken caramel," said Shoyrulan to the Peophins. When the three pets came up, their tails were loaded with sticky caramel. Shoyrulan grabbed some of the caramel and put it on her string. She then tossed out the line and waited.

Eventually, there was a tug on the line. Shoyrulan flung the line back, and looked at her prize, a milk chocolate Kiko. The fishing went on for hours and hours, until the boat was half loaded with choco treats. "Now, let's go to the Caramel stream shall we?" said Shoyrulan.

The three Peophins nodded, and started to pull out the boat. When the pets arrived at the stream, they anchored the ship and started fishing. The boat was almost fully loaded with caramel, when at the end of Shoyrulan's line was a transmitter. "Shoyrulan," a voice cried, "Come back, we're worried about you!"

"NO!!!!" Shoyrulan cried into her end, "I'll never go back." Then the sky clouded, the Peophins swam away, the anchor snapped, and Shoyrulan started to drift out to sea. This was a lesson she'd have to learn on her own.

All Good Things Come To an End, Then They Get Fix, Start To Mend

Shoyrulan looked toward the sky and noticed it started to get cloudy. It wasn't just getting cloudy, it was getting stormy! The strangest thing was the clouds moving so fast. It started to rain, when Shoyrulan realized that she was all alone. Raining went to pouring, waves went to Tsunamis and Shoyrulan went from frightened to down right scared. The boat tossed and turned as Shoyrulan hung on for dear life. Shoyrulan didn't see the large wave behind her that swept her off the boat. Time seemed to freeze.

There was Shoyrulan, reaching for the edge of the boat, her life flashing before her eyes. When time came back, Shoyrulan reached with all her might and grabbed the edge of the boat. The rain poured on her fingers, as one by one they slipped off the boat. Finally, Shoyrulan fell to the ocean. She smiled. "It's just a dream," she thought, "I'll wake up any moment now!" When Shoyrulan took a breath though, her lungs filled with water, gasping.... She was about to faint when something zoomed out from the bottom of the ocean.

Before she knew it, Shoyrulan was in the boat's cabin on her knees. She looked up and saw a red Peophin. "I am Destiny," said the Peophin, "I was trapped in this dream world long ago, and I discovered, everyone who comes here, comes to learn a lesson. I have helped everyone else learn theirs, but can't learn mine. I'm here to help you."

Shoyrulan starred. "What can you tell me?" she asked.

"Many others care for you, they fear you are hurt, where as you only are caring for yourself," replied the Peophin. Shoyrulan stood there.

Suddenly it all made sense. "I know what I must do," said Shoyrulan.

"Good luck," said Destiny, and she vanished, just like that.

"I'LL COME BACK," she yelled at the top of her lungs. The storm disappeared, just as quickly as it had came. Shoyrulan suddenly woke up in her room. She stared down at all her fans. There were just as many (if not more) as when she was undefeated. She looked at them all, some happy, some sad, some you just couldn't tell. Shoyrulan stood up with all her courage. She now knew what she must do.

Every Doubt Disappears

Shoyrulan stood up and walked down the stairs. When she reached her front door, she hesitated for a few seconds. Shoyrulan shook her head at whatever she was thinking. She turned the knob, and the world grew silent. Shoyrulan stepped outside. Everyone starred at her. Shoyrulan smiled and said, "Greetings. I bring information of a new land. A land where what you dream by day comes to life, a land where your wildest dreams are your everyday life."

The crowd paid her their utmost attention. "A land" Shoyrulan continued, "Where you learn lessons that are priceless. But land filled with adventure, danger, and excitement!"

The town Mayor, Toru the Tuskaninny, stepped forward. "Shoyrulan," he said in his powerful voice, "we've awaited your return for a long time. We feared for your life!"

"I'm sorry sir," replied Shoyrulan, " I have learned my lesson."

Shoyrulan walked around up to the mayor. "Now," said the mayor, "more about this land of yours."

"I shall speak of it later," said Shoyrulan.

The mayor was flustered, no one ever didn't do what he requested, except Shoyrulan. "I will spend the rest of the day with my..."

Shoyrulan thought for second, friends, not fans. "I'll spend the rest of the day with my friends."

All of the NeoPets looked at her as if she was a goddess, and to them she was. They looked as if it were a miracle to have her walking among mortal pets. "Let's go!" called Shoyrulan.

All the pets went to the amusement parks and rode every ride with Shoyrulan. The pets then traveled to Mystery Island and went on the Tiki Tour bus. The pets the went and saw a portrait of Pango Pango.

As the sun went down, plans were made for a luau, a feast, and other activities. Shoyrulan tried to surf, but only fell. Then everyone went to the luau and watched the Aisha island dancers. When dinner finally came, Shoyrulan treated all the pets to all the food they could eat.

"Now," said mayor Toru, "Tell us about this land of yours."

"Well," Shoyrulan began, "The land is yours to create and change as you wish."

"Where can we find such a place," asked mayor Toru.

Shoyrulan looked at all her new friends and smiled. "This land is in our hearts."

The End
