The Legend of the Air Faerie: Part Two

by dragonmagic1313

Faerlu took off into the air once more after finishing her sub. She flew for hours and hours until 9:38 PM. She could see Winter World way in the distance. But she decided to stop on Mystery Island to rest for the night. Faerlu stopped at the Neolodge. “We don’t allow Faeries in here,” said the man at the front desk, “Just NeoPets.”

Faerlu walked outside and into the woods of Mystery Island. She spread out her sleeping bag and pillow and ate a Space Slushie, a Chocolate Mint Slushie, and a bottle of chocolate milk. She was almost out of food. Faerlu needed to get to Winter World. After eating, she thought about what the man at the Neolodge said, and cried herself to sleep.

Faerlu awoke the next morning, ready to fly all the way to the Ice Caves today. She stopped at the food shop on her way out of the forest. Only a few ice cream cones were left. Faerlu couldn’t put them in her cooler. “Do you have anything else?” asked Faerlu.

“Just a few Neggs, and they’re NeoPet food. Not for Faeries. Go to Faerie Island. That’s where you belong.”

The man suddenly grabbed Faerlu and her bag and shoved her into the back room. He ripped the bag out of her arms and pushed Faerlu into a transformer! Faerlu had seen what a transformer could do only once before, when her Aunt and Uncle Gelert (Aunt and Uncle Polypup then) were called to get transformed to Gelerts.

“Faerie or NeoPet?” demanded the man.

“Huh?” Faerlu was confused.

“FAERIE OR NeoPet!” screamed the man wildly.

“Uh, Faerie!” cried Faerlu.

She suddenly felt great pain. Choose. Snow, Fire, Water, or Dark?, Faerlu heard inside her head. Uh…none! Faerlu recognized these names as the different species of Faeries. I want to be the first Air Faerie! Faerlu thought inside her head. The little twinge of pain grew to the most terrible pain Faerlu had ever felt. She felt her Lupe-like half twist and bend and lose its shape. Her blue old self turned to pale pink skin. Her small wings grew out super far and wrapped around her body. Her short brown Water-Faerie-type hair grew all the way down to her ankles and turned very pale blonde. The pain stopped. The transformer opened. Faerlu stumbled out on two legs, very used to having four.

“I’m a Faerie?” Faerlu’s voice sounded very cheerful, almost musical. Her old voice was dull, not usually happy. The old shopkeeper smiled.

“You see, its wrong to be half Faerie, half NeoPet No one is sure what to call you. That’s why I made you the Faerie you are. I’ll transport you to Faerie Forest at once! But first, you need a Faerie name. You can’t go around Faerie Forest with a name like Faerlu!”

“How did you know my name?” Faerlu was sure she hadn’t told him.

“My secret.” The shopkeeper grinned.

“I’ll call myself Wind Chaser,” Faerlu told the shopkeeper.

“All right then, Wind Chaser. Climb into the transporter,” said the shopkeeper.

Wind Chaser, the first Air Faerie hopped into the transporter. She barely had time to say good-bye and thanks to the shopkeeper before…ZOOM! She was in the heart of Faerie Forest.

“Wow, a newbie!” cried a Fire Faerie child, rushing over. A Dark Faerie followed the small Fire Faerie. “See that castle up there? The Faerie Queen lives up there. She’ll want to see you.” The Dark Faerie stared at Wind Chaser.

“What kind of Faerie are you?” she wondered.

“I’m the very first Air Faerie, Wind Chaser, and thanks!” Wind Chaser spread her wings and flew to the castle.

The Faerie Queen was lounging around on her throne, sipping a FaerieCola. Her pet Puppyblew sat on her lap. Wind Chaser fluttered up to face her. She bowed. The Faerie Queen smiled at her. “What kind of Faerie do we have here?” she asked.

“Air Faerie, mam. The very first one,” said Wind Chaser. The Faerie Queen looked impressed. “My name is Wind Chaser.”

“I see.” The Faerie Queen smiled. “Rascal!” she ordered the Puppyblew. “Escort this, this Air Faerie to her new home.”

The little Puppyblew barked and tugged on Wind Chaser’s robe. Wind Chaser followed Rascal the Puppyblew out the palace doors and into the woods.
