Transforming

A blue Gelert, a spotted Gelert, a red Usul, a speckled Usul, and a beautiful purple Shoyru. What do all these pets have in common? Well, at one point or another they were all me! My name is Aviash, and I am a purple Shoyru. Let me tell you my story.

I was born as a Gelert, and I was really happy that way. My owner Iabella painted me spotted and I was just the happiest baby Gelert you could have met!

When I got old enough I started training for the Battledome. I was really excited to start my lessons at the Training School because my big sister Madanya had already been training for a while and kept telling me how absolutely awesome it was! At the training school I heard some of the older pets talking about the Secret Lab. They said that their owners had used some sort of lab ray on them and they had gotten stronger and faster. When I asked Madanya about it she said that it was true, the lab could make you stronger, but it could also do bad things to you and that was why our owner hadn't used it on her younger pets yet.

Well! There was no way I was going to be kept from something cool just because I was a little young! So one night I snuck out of the little cottage I shared with two sisters and my baby brother, and I headed for the secret lab (one of the kids at school had drawn me a map of where they thought it was). When I got there I found that the scientists had left the ray unguarded for the night, and I pointed it on myself. I was really excited because I thought that I would be stronger afterward.

The next thing I felt was the most incredible pain that I had ever experienced. I screamed out so loud that I probably shook the walls, and then I fainted.

When I woke up I saw my Iabella's face hovering over me, concerned. I tried to explain to her why I had done what I did, but she didn't care. All she cared about was that I was all right. Then she told me that the ray had done something horrible to me....It had turned me into an Usul! I looked down and saw that my long legs had been transformed into short stumps, and when I looked into the mirror I couldn't even recognize myself!

I really hated being an Usul. I couldn't do the brave and heroic things that Gelerts were supposed to do. I tried to be strong at school, so none of the other kids would make fun of me, but at home I cried myself to sleep every night. It made Iabella sad to see me like this, she tried painting me speckled but it didn't help, so she promised me for Christmas that she would have something really special for me.

Well, I bet you can guess what I got for Christmas. That's right, a Blue Shoyru Morphing Potion! I was so excited that I didn't have to be an Usul anymore that I called all of my friends and invited them over for my morphing party. I got lots of presents, but the best one of all was my transformation. At first I wasn't sure about being a Shoyru, but now I love it! Flying is the absolute best! And now Iabella has painted me purple, so I'm the prettiest Shoyru in school!

Now all my brothers and sisters have changed. The lab ray turned my Madanya into an Elephante, and though it was hard to get used to she now loves her new trunk, and has learned how to use the new strength the lab ray has given her. My little sister Salja got really jealous when I had my transforming party and wanted one of her own, so Iabella bought her a potion that turned her into a red Aisha, and then she found a paintbrush to make her green and spotted. And my baby brother? Well, Bella was lucky enough to find a Faerie Paintbrush, so now he has beautiful wings and can fly around with me. I still think I'm the luckiest one of us though, because I'm the most popular Shoyru around!
