When You Really Need a Real Friend

Who would have ever thought that Jessica would be poor, or unpopular for that matter? She was a gorgeous Cybunny that was Christmas colored and had sparkling blue eyes. She was the richest NeoPet in all of Neopia and the most beautiful. When her owner's account got hacked into and lost all of her Neopoints and all of her items, she lost all of her ‘friends’. This is her story.

Jessica goes to Cybunny Elementary School. Jessica walked down the hallway at her school, her head held low. Everyone had known about what happened to her owner. Everyone was staring at her, not the way they used to. They used to stare at her in awe. Like she was a goddess. Now they were staring at her in a bad way. She saw her old friends, Lindsey, Candice, and Crystal. They gave her a mean look and she looked away quickly and kept walking.

Then there was her popular boyfriend, Stan. "He still likes me, doesn’t he?" she thought as she smiled at him. He shook his hand and turned back to his jock friends. He was a red Cybunny. She felt like breaking down and crying in front of everyone. She went to her locker and put in her books as the warning bell for Math rang.

Four hours later...

It was lunch, "Who am I going to sit with?" she thought as she looked around. There were no spare tables. Then she heard a voice call out to her. “Jessica! Come sit with us!” said a yellow Cybunny. It was Misty Hall. She decided to eat lunch with Jessica. Misty was an unpopular girl, but had a lot of friends. Jessica found Misty to be very interesting and they became friends very quickly.

Later…

“Hi, Lacey, I’m home!!!” Jessica yelled out as she walked into her home.

“Hi, sweetie,” she called back, "How was school?”

“It was awful at first, but I made a new friend, her name is Misty. I have to go call her now!!” she replied as she ran to her room and picked up the phone.

“Wait, Jessica! I have really good news!” said Lacey as she jumped in Jessica’s room excitedly.

“What?” asked Jessica.

“Well, while you were at school all day, I was playing lots and lots of games and earned lots of Neopoints playing them! But we only have 1000. That’s not enough, I will play more and more till we have as much stuff as we used to.”

“That’s great Lacey,” Jessica said glumly. "That’s not enough to get my old friends back," she thought to herself.

The next couple of weeks at school were a whole lot better than the first. Misty and Jessica were now best friends. She had also caught the eye of Mike, a green Cybunny. They were now going out and she hadn’t even thought about Stan or any of her old friends for that matter.

Jessica came home one day to find a very pleasant surprise--Lacey had made 1,000,000 Neopoints!!!! Playing games, in their shop, and many other ways! She went to school the next day and everyone had heard that she was the richest Cybunny yet again.

“Hi Jessica, how’s it been going?” asked her old friends.

“Better without you fakers,” she snapped back as she walked to her Misty’s locker, leaving her friends standing there with their mouths hanging wide open!

When Stan tried to approach her, she said, “Buzz off.”

Misty walked by Jessica's old friends and said, “You know, you can catch flies that way. You should close your mouths.”

She gave Jessica a high five! It's nice to have a real friend.
