Who else was surprised? Sorry, I'm talking about the fact that I logged onto NeoPets at 8 am the other morning and saw: Battledome Beta Test Now Open!!! I was literally frozen for about three minutes before I realized what I was reading. I called my little brother and, boy, did his jaw drop! "Finally!!!" He yelled. We whooped and screeched for awhile until my mum told us both to can it, but I could barely sit through school that day. All I thought about was: Please, please stay open until I get home!!! Well, I got home and fought my brother (we have three computers) and I certainly gave him a good kick into space! But I'm not here to talk about me totally beating my brother (twice, might I add, so far!). I'm here to ask you all, "Are you ready yet?" I thought I was. But I didn't realize before that you can use up items quickly! Stuff like cannons and shields are good because they don't disappear after one use, but really only snowballs make a big deal. And they get used up fast in battle. Most battles last 15 to 20 minutes and I've usually lost about 5 hit points in the first 3 moves, and also used up most of my snowballs. So, do you have at least 20 snowballs in stock? You will need them, I guarantee it! Also, you get out of battle and, if you lost, you look really roughed up. But even when you win you lose hit points, which you will probably need to replenish before you battle again to improve your chances of winning. So, you will need: Healthshrooms And another thing, don't make one pet battle all the time! Not only is that unfair to the pet, but it's boring for you and multiple opponents. Try and circulate the weight of battle around a bit. My strongest pet is Crazy4Ever, so far she has battled 3 times and won 2 out of 3 times. My Hercules70 has never won, MickyJr2000 won one out of one battles, and the same goes for Didi18. Snowballs are selling like hot cakes. They used to sell for anything from 75 NP to 2000 NP. Now they will usually go for 3000 NP and more because everyone wants and needs them. And the Battledome has only been open a few weeks! Check out the Shop Wizard. All those so-called "rare" items are selling for less than common items. That's what I call a mad fad! But I love the Battledome. It really trains more than the Training School, no offense to that funky Nimmo master dude. But your pets, and YOU, gain experience from each fight. You learn that you need a shield for almost everything because they can keep you from losing 5 HP as oppose to 2 HP. And your pets learn, too. They learn that they had better listen to you or else they'll really bomb out!!! But trust your better judgment. Your pet can't say STOP for itself, you have to make that decision yourself. Maybe NeoPets lose all its HP, but I'd rather have someone stop a fight that I was losing badly than get the brains knocked out of my pet. Finally, just because the Training School costs a lot of NP (think how much a Codestone goes for nowadays) it is well worth it. I advise mostly Level courses because you gain different abilities with different levels. Good luck at the Battledome everyone!!! |
