The Kontana Scroll: Part One

The tree shook again and Yamakarasu looked around. The shaking suddenly stopped. Yamakarasu raced towards the hut down the river, bursting through the door, entering the clubhouse she and her friends met. The hut was in a large forest, and actually was pretty close to the castle, where the Queen, Kihalai, lived in. The forest was very special because it's a place where royalties are born and where peasants are considered highly by the royalties. No one had ever called the forest anything but The Forest of Friends other than the people who never knew it before and called it the forest. And the name says it all. Everyone in the forest were friends with each other, especially the ones in the little hut down the river.

The hut was for a club where everyone meets and talks and have fun together. There was a swimming pool behind it, and beyond that, a battlefield. All pets, no matter what color or species, loved it there.

"I heard it again, everyone!" said Yamakarasu excitedly, "It was definitely the tree in front of the half moon rock, the thunder tree."

"What can I say?" said Flamie_500, "Someone, and possibly someone in this room, is needed at the castle!"

"That's true, but who could it be?" said Chelses carefully, "Wait, Flamie, you memorized the whole legend scroll... so tell us more."

"There isn't much for me to say, Chelses," said Flamie_500, "But OK, here goes:

When the thunder tree shakes
In front of the half moon rock
The kingdom is in danger
And must be always prepared
For an unrecognized royalty
Must save the vulnerable queen
If it's not done and the vulnerable queen dies
The whole kingdom will be destroyed

"Wow," exclaimed TrailMixed, "bigger news than I thought... but of course, my stomach is bigger because I'm hungry!"

"Yeah, me too" said KawaiiMiki, "and who knows who the unrecognized royalty will be, a wild pig?"

"Miki!" warned KawaiiMika.

Gyka looked down at the floor, which was covered with wooden planks. He had dreamt many times of been related to one of the royalties, but he never told any of his friends. They will just think I am been pushy, thought Gyka.

KawaiiMika glanced at Gyka suspiciously. They have been dating for some time now and they could tell if something was wrong. They met during their first battle and had fell in love.

"Gyka," said KawaiiMika, "is there something wrong?"

"No..." muttered Gyka.

Suddenly, there was two knocks and a scratch on the door, which was the password for entering the hut. TrailMixed leaped up and opened the door. It had started raining and the friends peered at the doorway. There stood Cadbury_Bunny, cold and wet, the messenger from the castle. He had been a messenger for a long time and was good friends with the NeoPets in the Friendship hut. Normally, he always looked excited and happy, and always brought good news, like faerie giveaways and exciting visitors. But this time, his face was serious and worried, and his whole body was numb. In his paws, carried a golden scroll. Cadbury_Bunny stepped in and roll out the scroll.

"Friends," he said, "I have important news. Today, many reports were of the shaking of the thunder tree and I understand that many of you may have experienced that too." As he said this, he nodded towards Yamakarasu. "And, unfortunately, things that must be done are done too late, and a Jubjub, Makailai, was attack just 15 minutes ago. It is unknown to us the attacker right now as Makailai is unconscious, but no matter what, this kingdom is in danger, and we must protect it! If we don't, we will all go down! Oh, did I mention to look for a royalty? We are aware that the unrecognized royalty could be any NeoPets in this kingdom, but we can find him, I know it!" Cadbury_Bunny looked fiercely at his friends and the friends looked back at him, all shaken by the news.

"Makailai," said Gyka, "That's Glowhardt's sister! Oh... Cadbury, is she OK?"

"Well," answered Cadbury_Bunny, "there wasn't any serious injuries; You brother Chelsto is with her and he suspects that the attacker used something to hit her on the head and because KawaiiMiki ran quick enough trying to save Makailai, the attacker ran away."

"What shall we do?" asked the worried Flamie_500, "soon, we are all going to be attacked."

"We need to find the unrecognized royalty and how to do that-" said Cadbury_Bunny.

"It's all written in the ancient scroll of Kontana." Chelses finished the sentence for him.

"That isn't going to be easy," said Yamakarasu, "the scroll is so old and ripped and who knows where all the pieces are?"

"Hmm, Gyka has one piece of it and so does the queen," said TrailMixed, "but getting to Gyka is easier, so we should start there."
