What Did I Do?

What did I do to deserve this? That was my first thought, when my old owner was pulling me by my tail to the Abandon area of the NeoPet Pound. My day began as a regular day, I would wake up, get my own breakfast, because my old owner first of all was always to lazy to get out of bed in the morning, and also, she was too drowsy to do anything because she had gone to lots of parties the night before, like she always does.

Well anyway, I was making myself breakfast, when my old owner's boyfriend walked in. Of course he just walked right past me, like he always does. About an hour later, my old owner came in and said, "You are just a big fat lazy animal! I don't like you!"

I was really confused! Then she said, "My boyfriend's pets are a lot better than you, and since he has four pets, I am abandoning you! You never were any help to me!!!"

She pulled me into her car and finally, about twenty minutes later, we got to the pound and she dragged me by my tail right into the pound and said to a really mean looking lady who had too much makeup on, "Take this stupid pet! I never want to see her again!"

The mean looking lady took off my collar and flung it into the trash can. Then she took me by my tail to a very very small cage with rusty bars that already had a Blumaroo in it and said, "You are going to be in this cage and I don't want to hear any whining!"

By the time I was in my cage, my old owner had already left and the Blumaroo said, "Hi!"

I very softly said to him, "Hi."

Then he said back to me, "I know it's depressing being in a cage, but I have been in here for 3 months already! Just then a little girl came up to our cage and said, "Mommy! I want that pet!"

She was pointing at the Blumaroo and I was sad that I wasn't being picked, but was happy for the Blumaroo because he had been in this awful cage for so long! The little girl picked up the Blumaroo and went to the front desk and paid 20 Neopoints for him.

About a week later, Secret28 came into the pound. She was looking at all of the pets and looked very disappointed. Then she looked at me and said, "What's your name?"

I replied, "Hi! I am Aerith_B"

She obviously liked me because she opened my cage and held me for a minute and then went to the front desk. "I will pay 60 Neopoints for her."

The lady at the front desk looked surprised and said, "Are you sure you want her? She has been here for a really long time and is really weak now!"

But Secret28 said, "I'm sure I want her!"

After all of the forms had been filled out and we had driven about an hour, we got to her house--it was beautiful! First she introduced me to her three other pets, then she fed me, and she played with me for a while till she put me to bed! And from then on, I have been loved and cared for. I don't have to make my own food and my owner is almost always home!
