Kapilino Coast
When Jake, Hairiru, Scotty, and Beth reached Kapilino coast, Jake asked
Beth if he could use the registration tower. Beth said yes and that Hairiru
had been to her house before and would show him the way. Jake panted as
he climbed the stairs. His elongated body was not made for such a obstacle
and he was having a extremely hard time. The only sound heard was that
of Hairiru's claws tapping the floor as they climbed the height of the
tower.
"This sure is a ridiculous height for a tower...why do they bother to
make these things so high?" Jake asked.
"Well," Hairiru replied, "it's the architectural law that the town registration
tower has to be the tallest building in the town. If it wasn't it would
be awfully hard to find."
Jake had more to ask, "What was that weird electric move you used?"
Hairiru gave up climbing the spiral stair case and hovered in the center
of the stair case to have a more comfortable chat. "That's an Electric
Pulse. The longer you hold it, the stronger it gets. I've wandered those
vast fields all my life. The Endless Plains, they're called. I know every
grass blade in the dirt upon that field. The blinding move was a Tatsu
Rainbow Flash. I just made the rest up."
The two finally reached the top of the tower. Hairiru waited as Jake
entered the machine. "Hmmm.... which to pick..." Jake scanned them over
until he found something interesting. As he pressed the button, the green
aura shone around him again. He panicked but not as much as last time.
His beak formed and reformed to become more like Hairiru's. The joints
in his wings switched, and his wings twisted like sculptor's clay into
fore legs with dog-like paws, his scales dried up his green fur. He felt
as if his spine was stretched too far and he felt a small, piercing pain,
like the prick of a needle at the tip of his tail.
Jake looked at the end of his tail--a spike-like blade had sprouted.
His attention was suddenly drawn to his middle as two lizard-like legs
sprouted out of his sides. His hind legs were scaly. He felt spikes rising
out of his the back of his neck. Though it seemed to take an hour to Jake,
it was more like ten seconds. Jake walked out of the capsule feeling very
awkward not having the same pair of legs in front as in back. Hairiru
stared at him. "That must be the great griffin. Very fast."
Jake laughed. "Well, if I can get used to this dual leg thing. I think
I'm getting used to this whole transform thing though."
Hairiru laughed. "Well, I know what you mean. Once, I bought some potion
from a guy in a cape. He said it was an ounce of each existing type of
Negg squashed into a jar. I bought it for 50,000 NP. Heh heh, now what
happened was I couldn't wait to get stronger, so as soon as he was gone
I drank up as soon as I could, and you know what? It was a morphing potion.
It turned me into a Shoyru. I went as fast as I could, which was pretty
slow, with the puny Shoyru legs and when I got to him, I kicked his butt.
He got me a refund and I had to go to the Faerie Queen to get changed
back."
"That's a lot of NP."
"Wait until you see my account! Enough talking though, let's go!"
When Hairiru opened the door and Jake and him walked in to Beth's house,
Polo and Beth were waiting with Juppies by the fire. "Well, I'm glad that
you're here. Now sit back, and I'll tell you a story."
