The Search for the Unknown Land

by ccitkat14

One bright joyful morning Vana, the Red Aisha of Neopia, ran as fast as her little legs could carry her to her best friend, Jaime the Speckled Zafara's house.

"Oh Jaime, I'm glad I caught up with you," she said breathing heavily.

"What is it Vana?" Jaime asked with a confused look on her face. "I think....I think they've found..." She paused to take a deep breath, "They've found a new island!"

She smiled. "Are you serious? Where? Where?" She asked anxiously.

"West of here...they haven't really found it, but they think there is land over there!" She told her friend.

"Yes! Yes! This could be our big break. We could sail over there and find the land! We'd...we'd...we'd be famous!" Jaime daydreamed.

"Yeah! We could ask Tekno if we can borrow his boat!" Vana shouted with joy.

"Ask me what?" It just so happened that Tekno the Fire-Flamed Techo was walking by.

"Oh, Tekno you're just the person we need!" Jamie yelled.

"What? What?"

"We need to borrow your boat to sail over the seas to find new land!" Vana answered.

"Really! How great! Could I come too? I mean you are gonna use my boat, I should be able to come?" Tekno asked.

"Hmmm...yeah sure! This will be great! Let's meet back here 10 A.M. sharp with all the basic supplies we need!" Vana announced to them, and they all agreed.

The next day they all showed up with 5 bags of lotion, food, drinks, clothes, and junk. "Oh no. We can't take all this. I say we take all mine and dump your guy's things," Jaime said.

"No way! We should take all the important things we need from all of our things," Tekno suggested.

"Yeah OK," Vana and Jaime agreed.

They all put the things they really needed into one bag and pushed the boat into the docking area.

"OK, here we go. Off to find the new land!" Vana laughed with joy.

They all jumped into the boat and began their journey. Soon they came upon a mean looking Jetsam. "Hello, I'm Vana, this is Jaime and that's Tekno!" Vana pronounced to the Jetsam.

"Well I'm Sam. And you're in my land!" he yelled with hatred.

"Well sorry but this isn't really land, it's water," Jaime snapped back.

"Well I'm the head Jetsam of these waters, so get out!" he yelled again.

"Don't worry we won't be long...we're just passing through. Gosh!" Tekno told him.

"Hurry up!" Sam screamed at them as they continued.

"Gosh, he's rude!" Vana said.

"Uh huh."

Soon, after 4 days of boating, they reached a land that looked unfamiliar. "We're here! This is it!! I know it!" Jaime announced with excitement. They beached and stepped onto the new found land.

"Ha. Wouldn't it be funny if they named it Newfoundland?" Jaime tried to crack a joke but didn't succeed. "OK never mind." She walked around with the other two.

"Wow! It's really pretty here. Full of wild flowers. They're all beautiful," Vana told them.

"Yeah we should take the pictures, and get going. Were running low on food," Tekno suggested.

Suddenly something came out of the nearby bushes. It looked to be a new species. "Ahhhhh!!!!" they all screamed.

"It's OK I won't hurt you! My name is Nauder. My species lives here. We're Koi," Nauder smiled.

"Koi? I've never heard of Koi? Have you Tekno? Jaime?" Vana asked.

"Well," Nauder stood there.

"Well we have to go! Ta-ta! Bye bye! See ya later! C'mon hurry! Let's go! Now!" Vana ran to the boat as the other two followed.

"Wait!" Tekno grabbed his camera and took a picture of the Koi and the new land."Thanks!"

They set sail again and went home. As they reached the dock once more and ran back to Jaime's house and called the NeoPian NewStation, but when they did they got a big laugh.

"Ha ha ha! What do you take us for, fools? We did that story last week," The News Reporter said and hung up.

"Huh?" Jaime said. She picked up the remote and turned the TV on to see a whole bunch of camera people filming the New found land, three weeks ago with pictures of the Koi.

"Oh no!" cried Jaime. Tekno and Vana ran over there and sighed.

"Well at least we got to take a 2 week vacation!" They all laughed at their stupidity.
