The Paintbrush Pricing Game

If you were to go to the Shop Wizard and search for a particular type of paintbrush you would find out that they cost about 9000 NP per paintbrush. That seems reasonable because it is what we are used to. But is it fair?

I was going to buy a Striped Paintbrush for my pet. When I saw the prices I changed my mind though. Why? Because the prices ranged from 8000 to 99999 NP! I saw these prices and decided against it. I researched the prices of a Striped Paintbrush, Shadow Paintbrush, Spotted Paintbrush, and a Rainbow Paintbrush to see just how much they were worth. What I found was pretty shocking. Every single paint brush was worth 0 NP. Yes, I said 0 NP.

I went on to research all the others and they to were worth 0 NP, too. I know they can't be sold for nothing, but why over price them by so much? Inflation in the great virtual world of Neopia is up 1.15%. It is mostly due to the over pricing of items sold in privately owned stores. If you were to search for something as worthless as a Bitten Green Apple, you would find that if people sell it for up to 50 times what it is worth. It is only worth about 8 NP. So why do people sell it for sometimes 500 NP? This is getting out of hand.

If you wanted to get a discount in a regular Neopian shop than you can obtain a discount card. However, since the shops rarely have food because of the over population of NeoPets most people resort to buying in private shops. Most of the times they get scammed. So what I think we should do is make the discount card useable in all shops. Especially for paintbrushes. People want their pets to look good but they don't want to be in the poor house because of it.

Greed is what makes people do the things they do. Most of us are only children. We don't need to get into the habit of being greedy. It is not something to be proud of. To all the shop owners: STOP overpricing and START being fair and selling things for what they are worth.
