Jake lay there, panting. He opened his eyes and was surprised that he
could see amazingly well. "What- where- how-" Jake stuttered.
"You've been registered," the Shoyru said. Jake was surprised
he suddenly knew the creature's species.
"You're a Syngull. It's an aerodynamically perfect flyer. Basically
it's a snake with a bird's beak, wings, and a webbed tail for swimming.
Try it out!"
"Okay..." Jake said. He looked to the right. He tested out the wing
with a flap. Then the other one. He lifted off the ground but hit his
head on the ceiling, not realizing how tall he was. He thudded onto the
floor.
"Ow," he said. The pets started giggling.
"You just need to get used to it...ha ha!" the Scorchio laughed.
"Total sweetness..." Jake said. "But say I wanted something else..."
"Just comeback and do it again!" the Scorchio said.
"Okay, so...what's the first order of business?" Jake asked.
"Well," said the Shoyru, "meet us in Maraqua!" with that, they were gone.
"Marquara, eh? I'll ask around." Jake slithered back into the daylight
and went up to another Syngull.
"Excuse me," Jake said, "but could you tell me which way to Marquara?"
"Sure! First, go to Kapilino coast. Then, just find another form and
go on into the sea!" the Syngull responded.
"Whatever," Jake said. He stretched his large, white wings and with a
jump took off into the clear, blue sky.
"YEAH!" Jake yelled as he did a flip.
"THIS IS THE COOLEST THING IN THE WORLD!" he said as he reached 102 mph.
"Huh?" Jake said as he noticed something below, An old lady was struggling
against an oversized rat. Jake dove down to help. He landed and silently
slithered towards the rat burglar.
"Heh, heh...there's no way to resist, just hand over the NP!" the rat
said.
"Scotty!" yelled the old woman.
Suddenly a Poogle waddled up and barked at the rat burglar.
"Ho ho, that won't save you!" said the giant rat kicking Scotty away.
"Stop it!" Jake yelled.
The rat turned around. "Ya wanna fight about it?"
" You bet!" Jake yelled.
"Okay then, try this," the rat said smartly. He cupped his hands around
his mouth and yelled. "Knoooooottero!"
Suddenly, the ground shook behind Jake. Slowly, he turned around. A huge
Skeith was sitting there, staring at Jake. Slowly, it got up and walked
towards Jake. Jake was frozen to the ground. Just as the Skeith was about
to eat Jake, something happened. The Skeith was suddenly eating dirt instead of
Jake. Out of no where, a Blue Tatsu appeared and was standing facing the
Skeith Then it rushed forward and punched the Skeith again and again.
The Skeith tried to swipe the Tatsu but it ducked.
The rat yelled, "Don't try that, you lug, Knottero! Flame em'!"
The Tatsu jump onto the Skeith 's back, between its wings and put his
fists together. With a huge slam of his wrist, the Tatsu fell off the
Skeith Knottero burned the Tatsu's arm with a fireball. The Tatsu flashed
a bright rainbow in Knottero's eyes, and he began whining.
"Me eyes! Me eyes!" the Tatsu hovered in flight above Knottero and began
flowing with electricity like the Zafara did, it must be some special
move, thought Jake. Suddenly, the Tatsu spun head first, down into the
Skeith, which gave away into fainting.
"Noooo!" the rat burglar said, and forced the poor Skeith into running
away with him.
"Hairiru..." said the old woman, "My how you've grown!"
The Tatsu turned to her. "Beth! I haven't seen you in a while." Jake
was confused.
"What's going on around here?"
" Oh, you must be the one who tried to save me, thank you." Hairiru
turned to face Jake.
"That rat he-" but Hairiru gasped.
"What? Do I have a cut or something?" Jake asked.
Hairiru was speechless. "I-I..."
"Is something wrong, Hairiru?" Beth asked.
"The- the mark..."
Jake stared at his tail. There was some symbol on it. Hairiru spoke.
