Inside the Neopian Arts

By feralis

Howdy, Neopia! My name's Chiitsuru, journalist for hire, with a story on Neopia's Performing Arts industry. Today, I have the transcript of an AIM interview with the forefathers of Neopian theatre, Ryuu Scorchioshi and Koshou Kojikorbat!

Chiitsu: Greetings monsigneurs! Would you agree to a short interview?

Koshou: I wouldn't mind at all.

Ryuu: Nor would I.

Chiitsu: Delightful. What do you think of the status of Neopian art?

Koshou: I think it's very poorly regarded. If there wasn't a neopoint reward for user submitted work, no one would do it at all.

Chiitsu: I agree heartily. Do you two plan to change Neopia with your theatre?

Ryuu: I do, at least. We want to show all of Neopia the talented NeoPets.

Koshou: We want Pets to share their gift.

Chiitsu: Isn't Usagi Poogikama pretty highly regarded in Neopian opera circles?

Koshou: She's been bragging about her musical talent for a while now, but for some reason she didn't show up at our most recent audition.

Ryuu: I didn't lock Usagi in the basement.

Koshou: Eh?

Chiitsu: I think it's time for a subject change... so, you two are the co-founders of the true thespian's theatre guild, are you not?

Ryuu: We are, we are.

Koshou: But the guild isn't exactly the center of our operations you know.

Ryuu: Yeah, the whole idea was to create a guild that you didn't have to join to participate in.

Koshou: Only directors need join. Anybody in Neopia can try out for a play if they want to.

Chiitsu: So I don't have to join to be in one of your plays?

Ryuu: Nope.

Chiitsu: Cool! What play are you doing at the moment?

Ryuu: We are directing the play HMS Pinafore.

Chiitsu: Ahh, the Gilbert and Sullivan classic. My great-grandfather was in that once.

Koshou: Boy, do I feel old.

Chiitsu: Oh dear, I'm sorry.

Koshou: No problem. Anyway, we plan to show it during the first week of the month of Sleeping.

Ryuu: The auditions have already taken place, but our next play will be coming up soon.

Chiitsu: It's been great talking to you. Any shoutouts or gratituitous advertisements?

Koshou: Now, I don't think that's very moralist...

Ryuu: WHO LET THE DOGS OUT? GO HUSKIES! (ps visit the tttg)
