The Mutation Ray: Part Two

Then the Dark Faerie points a hand at Link and blasts him into a wall! “LINK!” yelled Pooglesa. “I’ll be OK. You truly are a coward to attack someone weaker than you!” said Link.

“You will live to regret that!” hissed the Dark Faerie raising a hand at Link. The Dark Faerie launched a ball of Dark Energy at Link but it suddenly disappeared!

“That will be enough, Dark Faerie,” said a low misty voice. “Faerie Queen, you are back sooner than I expected,” said the Dark Faerie in alarm.

“Don’t play games with me,” said the Faerie Queen in a harsher voice. “I saw it all! You tried to end Neopia’s only hope for survival!” She pointed her hand at the Dark Faerie and there was a small pop and the Dark Faerie was suddenly trapped in a small jar!

“She will be released when someone uses her for his or her pet's ability, but not for now....Ahh, yes, and the ones I asked you to get for me. Don’t tell me why Zigamorphigus didn’t come. I know why,” said the Faerie Queen.

“Now you all know why you are here, do you not? Well, you are here to save Neopia from an evil doctor named Sloth! He travels the universe causing pain and misery to all who oppose him. He is coming as we speak. I have sent the Warrior Faerie and the Space Faerie to try to stop him."

“Zman807, I am aware that you have a pet that escaped from Doctor Sloth. One Grundo called Snirbels?” asked the Faerie Queen.

“Yes it is,” said Zman807.

At that a purple Grundo popped its head out of the bag then popped back in. “Now, all of you and your pets will have to journey to the space station to battle Sloth! I want you to train at the Battledome for one day. After that you will have half a day to get to Sloth’s space station. I will make preparations for the launch pad outside of the Neopia jungle to have five space ships ready for launching.”

All of them set down the mountain towards the Battledome. Five hours later in the Battledome Link yelled, “Zarimon, Rainbow, Frost Cannon ATTACK!”

“Zinkibo, Green, Frost Cannon ATTACK!” yelled Zafar-Lovergirl.

They attacked each other while training for the battle against Dr. Sloth. The Fire Faerie arrived and everybody asked, “Fire Faerie, why are you here?”

“I am here by orders of the Faerie Queen to make your pets stronger.”

At this she pointed her hand toward the pets, sent a red beam at them and they were all upgraded in strength. After upgrading the pets, she disappeared in a cloud of red and blue flames.

“It’s been a day! We should leave for the rocket pad,” said BarbarianBrett.

They set off for the jungle in a red Jeep and arrive at the launching pad twenty minutes later. A short little scientist with overgrown hands and feet dashed out of a building saying, “Welcome. I’ve been expecting your arrival.”

And he beckons them towards the rocket ship. “T-MINUS 4, 3, 2, 1," said a voice from the intercom, "BLAST OFF!”

At that, the two space shuttles blast off towards Sloth’s space station. “Remember the plan! We split into two groups and try to free all the captured NeoPets and then meet up by the reactor core and then we face Sloth!” said Link into a radio.

“The teams are, Zafara-Lovergirl and I and you two are the other team!” The space shuttle docked on Sloth’s ship.

“OK, BarbarianBrett and Zman807. You find the captured pets and release them! Zafara-Lovergirl and I will find the power core and shut it down. Meet by the lift to the lower levels!” said Link, and at that they set off on their missions! Link and Zafara-Lovergirl set off down a dark corridor and then spotted the power core.

“OK, Zafara-Lovergirl, I will make a diversion and you take out that core!”

“Zarimon, Black Frost Cannon!” yelled Link, and hearing that, Zarimon sent a black ball at the ceiling and the warriors of Sloth set off to battle Link!

“Pooglesa, Red Frost Cannon!” shouted Link, and at that, Pooglesa sent a red ball at a Grundo warrior sending him flying back into a wall. At that, the power core shuts down and the Zinkibo, one of Zafara-Lovergirl’s pets sprinted at the warriors and kicked them hard and they fall to the ground, unconscious.

“Good work. Let’s find that lift.,” said Link.

They walked quietly through the corridors, going deeper and deeper into the station. After about a half an hour, Link and Zafara-Lovergirl see a black door and they see BarbarianBrett and Zman807 standing by it.

“Finally, you are here!” said BarbarianBrett. Are we going down or not?”

“Yes, we are going down,” said Link

A dark voice said, “Oh no, you are not going down there!” Link looked over his shoulder and saw Zigamorphigus!

“What are you doing here!?!?” said Link. Zigamorphigus just smirked.

“I work for Sloth! He knows you are here! He knows your tricks and everything! It isn’t possible! You can’t win! Neopia will be destroyed and I will be the leader of a small army for Sloth!” shouted Zigamorphigus.

“Zigamorphigus, get out of our way!” ordered Link. “Zigamone, Red Frost Cannon, attack!” said Zigamorphigus. “Zarimon, Rainbow Frost Cannon, attack!” yelled Link and Zarimon easily overpowered Zigamon. Zafara-Lovergirl sneaks up behind Zigamorphigus and whacks him over the head, knocking him out!

“Let’s go for Sloth, now,” Link ordered and at that everyone boarded the lift. After five minute of going down into the station on the lift, it finally stopped and everyone got out.

”Ahh, yes, Link and the others. I have been expecting you!” said an evil sounding voice. Link looked into the darkness and saw the outline of Sloth.

“SLOTH, I won’t let you destroy the earth!” yelled Link.

“Oh, that is what you think! I cannot be stopped!”

Sloth pushed a button on the intercom and orders, “Fire the weapon in ten minutes.”

Zarimon fired a Black Cannon Frost at Sloth who then yelled with pain!

“Let’s go!” yelled Link. Link and the others run off toward the shuttles.

“Everyone on one shuttle. I will try to stop the beam,” yelled Link.

Zafara-Lovergirl, BarbarianBrett and Zman807 with their pets hop into one ship.

“You two also get on,” said Link to Zarimon and Pooglesa. “But...But what will happen to you?” they all asked. “JUST GET ON!!!!” yelled Link and Zarimon and Pooglesa both get on the ship and off it flew back to earth. Link hopped on a ship, powered it up and started the engine, flying to the cannon. When the beam fired at the earth, Link flew at the front of the beam driving his ship up the beam.

“Hull integrity at minimum!” the computer stated. Link continued to drive his ship into the cannon sending a power surge to the core, causing it to blow up. The space station exploded and Link and his damaged ship are sent hurtling to earth!

“Hull breaches in sections 2, 3, 5, 9, engine off line. Now entering earth’s atmosphere!” the computer stated, as the ship flew upside down into the atmosphere at extreme speed.

“C'MON, C'MON, LEVEL OUT!" yelled Link. BLASTED THING!” Link bashed the control panel with his fist. “LEVEL OUT!!! AAARRRGH!” yelled Link as the ship smashed into the earth. Link woke up, dazed and in pain and confused, not knowing where he was. He heard a voice that somehow sounded familiar.

“I FOUND HIM! OVER HERE! He’s hurt pretty bad!” said someone.

“Someone get me to the hospital, quick."

Link felt himself being lifted onto something soft and carried off. Link then passed out, waking several hours later in a white bed with bandages covering him. He suddenly realized where he was and who the people sleeping in the chairs surrounding his bed. He made a small grunt of pain while trying to sit up and the people around him wake up.

“Link! You are OK! The doctors said you might not make it!” said Zafara-Lovergirl.

“What happened? What happened to sloth?” said Link.

“You stopped him! You rammed your ship right into the cannon! We saw your ship flying back down to earth and it was pretty torn up!” said BarbarianBrett.

“Listen, Link, the Faeries are having a festival tonight. Think you can make it?” asked Zman807.

“Oh, will I!” said Link, grinning The party lasted all night. Link was the star of the show, but not everybody was happy. On the outskirts of the galaxy, in the destroyed space station, a bloody, mangled figure said, “I will be back! I will win next time. Next time.”
