The Tale of the Magical Key: Part Two

by 98eevee

Forest Friends and Forest Foes Last time, 4 pets, Grundoey the Grundo, _Palemoon_ the Usul, Iccorasto the Zafara and BunnyHopCy set off to find their owner, 98eevee, who had been away for a long time....

‘WWWWWWHHHHHHHHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO’ The wind blew heavily through the forest trees and the rain thrashed against the forest floor. Korbats scattered to their nests as a tree crashed down upon the leafy floor. “I’m cold” Moaned _Palemoon_, folding her arms. Four pets were walking through the freezing forest. Three of which sheltered clumsily behind the fourth pet.

“Then get closer in behind me,” said the forth pet, a Zafara known as Iccorasto. She sheltered her face with her paw as they turned to face the wind straight on.

“Why do we have to face the wind?” complained Grundoey the silver Grundo.

“So we don’t get lost” explained Iccorasto.

“S s s so w why can’t we go d down wind?” asked BunnyHopCy the stuttering striped Cybunny.

“LISTEN!” yelled Iccorasto, turning to face the other three.

“YOU ASKED TO COME AND THIS IS THE WAY WE’RE GOING OKAY?”

The other three stood there stunned. Iccorasto stood, still facing them sternly.

Suddenly, _Palemoon_ started to sob. “You’re s so meeeean,” she spluttered.

Suddenly, she started to wail out load. “Now look what you’ve done!” snapped Grundoey, “You’ve made her cry.”

_Palemoon_ started to wail louder.

“ME?!” Shouted Iccorasto back, “IT’S NOT MY FAULT!” Iccorasto started to squabble loudly with Grundoey, as _Palemoon_ wailed.

BunnyHopCy jumped up to _Palemoon_ “Don’t cry,” he said _Palemoon_ suddenly flared up.

“NOOOOOOOOO!” she screamed, startling the other 3 pets and stopping the squabble.

“No..” she sniffed.

Once again silence returned, this time with the focus on _Palemoon_. “No...” she repeated again.

“NNNNNOOOOOOOOOO!!” she ran off into the forest. The remaining three pets stood stunned for a few minutes.

“P.... _Palemoon_?” Iccorasto said, still shocked, “_PALEMOON_!!!”

Iccorasto ran off into the forest after _Palemoon_. Grundoey and BunnyHopCy looked at each other for a second. Then... “L let’s g go!” And they too were off, into the depths of the forest. As the two boys ran through the forest, they could hear distance voices: HELP! Stay strong _Palemoon_, just don’t let go! You’ll never get her out... Shut up and help me! Why? BECAUSE WE NEED TO GET HER OUT! Why are you here any way? To look for 98eevee, JUST HELP! My, you ARE bossy!

The two boys arrived on the scene, a scene of utter confusion! There was a Korbat. It was a red Korbat, with heavy black sacks beneath his eyes. He was sat on a great old oak tree, next to a gushing river. In the river, was _Palemoon_, her cries almost drowned out by the howling wind. Holding on to her hand, struggling to keep on, was Iccorasto.

“Grundoey!” Iccorasto seemed slightly relieved, “help me out here!”

Grundoey, on the other hand, was still staring at the Korbat. “You... look familiar” he said.”

“GRUNDOEY! A LITTLE HELP HERE!”

Grundoey ignored Iccorasto’s request. “You.... you used to live in the attic...”

The Korbat looked down at Grundoey. It smiled. “I’m surprised you remember,” the Korbat said smugly, “After 98eevee ABANDONED ME!”

Silence again fell... “A.... abandoned?” asked Grundoey.

“Yes!” said the Korbat, “After I bit him, he abandoned me.”

“A... abandoned?” Grundoey repeated.

“Yes.” The Korbat flew over to Grundoey. “I BIT him, then he abandoned me...”

“W... why did you bite him?” asked Grundoey.

“He refused to take me to the Mystery Isle.”

“Y y y our s spoiled y you are!” BunnyHopCy’s voice broke out, “I if y you don’t g get what y you want y you attack!”

The Korbat seemed amused, “Hmmm, he was the spoiled one, a fool if there ever was one.”

Grundoey looked as if he was going to explode (and start yet ANOTHER fight) when- “AAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH!” Iccorasto screamed Grundoey twirled around to see Iccorasto and _Pale moon gush down the stream.

“ICCORASTO!” the two boys yelled out as they foolishly jumped in the stream. The Korbat looked slightly amused as our four heroes were gushed out of the forest.

“Take after their owner,” Iccorasto heard as she blacked out, “Fools all of th-”

Will the pets get swallowed by the stream? Who is this Korbat? Will he save the day? Where will our unconscious friends wash up (or down)? All this and more answered, next time!
