Diimund's Voodoo: Part Three

by i_luv_dawgs

Diimund stepped outside just as the sun was rising. Theroux was waiting with open arms. Diamond waved at the Island Mystic and Jhuidai, then turned to thank the Great Pango Pango, but he was gone. Beaming from one ear to the other, Diimund and Theroux climbed aboard the canoe and sailed away back to the Mystery island just as the deep red sun settled high in the sky.

"Will you join me in exploring the island?" Theroux asked wistfully. Diimund turned and smiled at her companion.

"I'm sorry Theroux," she apologised. "But I must go see Almanac!" Theroux hung his head.

They traveled the rest of the journey in silence. When they reached shore, Diimund wasted no time and went to board the yacht to head home to Neopia. She turned and smiled warmly at Theroux.

"Thank you, for everything!" she said, waving.

Theroux, swallowing a lump in his throat, waved shyly back. Diimund traveled the journey home in silence. Her heart leaped with joy. Almanac was better! Her adventure was over! She arrived home and went straight round to Alamanac's house. Almanac answered the door. Diimund looked at Almanac's face. Not a scar was seen.

"Oh, Almanac!" shouted Diimund, hugging her friend tight. "I'm so sorry!"

At first Almanac stayed stiff and rigid, but then she loosened up and hugged Diimund back.

"It's okay," she said warmly. "But it's strange. One minute I was scarred for life, and the next they were all gone! How did you do it?"

"How did you know it was me?' laughed Diimund.

"Simple!" said Almanac, joining in the laughter.

"You were the only person I know who owns a stupid Voodoo doll!"

"Not any more!" growled Diimund, shaking her head furiously.

"You were right Almanac, they're stupid!" She looked up at the green Nimmo.

"Oh, Almanac, will you ever forgive me?"

"Of course! I already have! Diimund was happy again. She had renewed her friendship with Almanac, and everything was back to normal. Still, Diimund felt a pain in her heart each time she thought of Theroux. She sighed. But now she had something else to think about. She would have to explain everything to her owner - about the totem, why she ran off... Diimund sighed. Slowly she turned the handle of the door. Standing in the doorway... was a yellow Tuskaninny!

"THEROUX!" she shouted, running toward him and hugging him tight. Of course, this story ends as they always do. Diimund's owner said Theroux could stay and they all lived happily ever after....And Diimund never believed in any silly superstitions again.
