What Makes A Champion? Interview with Thyassa

This is yellow_canary, Neopian Times reporter. I am standing inside Gormball champion Thyassa Jones' house, ready to interwiew her.

yellow_canary: Thyassa, what sort of schooling have you had?

Thyassa: I went to Neopia Central Gradeschool and Jr. High. Then I went to NeoHigh for four years. My final days of schooling were spent at Northern NeoUnivirsity. I majored in Gormball.

yc: Who invented gormball?

T: Grandpop, my great (great, great,etc.) grandpa invented gormball. I have a picture of him here, holding his creation.

yc: Very interesting. When did you first start playing?

T: I have been playing since I was five years old. Here's another picture of my Great-Aunt Sherry. When I was 5, I went to a reunion where they were playing Gormball. I just, well, started playing, and I beat Aunt Sherry, who at the time was crowned Gormball champ of the world!! And now I am champion! Buh-hahaha!

yc: Uh, okay then. Can you tell me a bit about your background?

T: But of course! I have two pictures here, one of my family tree on my father's side as far back as I can trace it, and one of my ancestors playing foolsball, an early version of gormball. First of all, through my blood runs the finest of the gormball champs. On my dad's side is the origonal gormball players, and on my mom's is a tribe of native islanders who played foolsball. A foolsball was like a gormball, except it was made of elephant hide and filled with slime.

yc: Er, when is your next tournament?

T: I've been practicing daily with the normal people...Brian, the Fire Faerie, Cool Grundo, etc. But my next main tournament is in three hours at Neopia Central. I have to go get ready now..

yc: Okay, is there any message you'd like to give to all those starting Gormball players out there?

T: Sure. Remember, I am the boss and you are going to lose no matter what they say about beginner's luck! You are all losers! You are going to lose, you filthy little rats! I WILL WIN!!!
