The Rich NeoPet

by Dagz Z

This is a made up story, and I’m not saying that rich Neopians are bad. I just wanted to write a story, and it seems that a rich NeoPet is mean in my story. Please do not be offended! I think that people should be proud of being rich, and that being rich is one of the greatest pleasures in Neopia!

Once there was an owner who signed up at NeoPets and adopted 4 pets, Becky the Usul, Mallory the Chia, Krysten the Uni, and Kathy the Kougra. They all became good friends.

When they started school, they met a beautiful Cybunny named Jess. She has pretty stripes and wore fancy clothes and used really cool make-up everyday. She smelled really nice, too. She always wore the best perfume. Mallory, Becky, Kathy and Krysten always wore old hand-me-downs from the Money Tree and never got to wear any make-up and had not been painted with those cool paintbrushes. Jess would always hang out with some other cool girls. They would always go around whispering rumours and looking at other pets, as if they were better than them.

One day, Jess was giving out invitations for her birthday party. She gave one to the girls! They were all very excited!

When they went home they showed their owner the invitation. “How do you think I am going to afford to feed you and buy you clothes, food, toys and grooming items… AND NOW PRESENTS… all at the same time?” their owner asked. “Well, we could go to the Money Tree and each get her a gift,” suggested Becky. “Who is this Jess girl anyway?” their owner asked. Krysten replied, “She’s a striped Cybunny. She’s real pretty and she smells good!” “Well, go hurry along now and find your gifts, the invitation says the party is tomorrow!” said their owner. They all left to the Money Tree.

When they arrived, there was worn out pink lipstick, a torn tie dye shirt, a ripped Chia doll and a pair of rusty earrings. Krysten took the pink lipstick, Mallory took the shirt, Becky took the doll, and Kathy took the earrings.

Later, they were all discussing their gifts. “My lipstick is worn out,” Krysten complained. “The shirt is torn!” Mallory cried. “Look at these ugly earrings!!!” shouted Kathy. “They're rusted!” “There’s a hole in my Chia doll! The stuffing is falling out!” said Becky. “We need some paint and some thread… and needles… but where will we find anything?” Kathy complained. “We can look in the forest,” suggested Mallory.

They went, and when they arrived, they found what they needed so they began fixing their stuff. Krysten was working on fixing up her lipstick. She carved it so it was perfect. Then she slipped the lid back on and washed it off in the stream, so it shone like new. Mallory tied blades of grass together to make a long thread and then sewed the tear shut with a pine needle. Becky used a thin vine to sew her Chia, and used Mallory's needle. Kathy crushed berries and smeared them all over the earrings... and trust me... they looked like new! You could not even see the rust!

When they were done, they showed each other their projects. They all agreed that they looked a lot better than any of their own things. Then they noticed they needed to make bags for the gifts to go in. They started weaving bark together to make baskets, and covered their gifts with grass so the presents could not be seen.

The next day, after school, they walked off to Jess’s house for the party. When they got there, they saw that she lived in a skyscraper! They couldn't believe Jess owned her own skyscraper! They knocked on the door and Jess and all of her other friends opened it. Jess’s friends started to whisper and stare at them. Jess told them to come in. They went and played a few board games, watched a movie, had cake, and then it was time to open the gifts.

From her other friends, she got gold lipstick, gold nail varnish, a coral orb, all 6 faeries, and some rare foods. Jess looked at the other girl’s gifts. She took off the grass and looked at them. “Eeew!” she cried. “Get these away from me!” The girls felt so embarrassed. They hid their faces and ran the entire way home without stopping.

When they got home they ran to their room and sat on their mats they slept on and began to cry. Their owner came in and asked, “What’s wrong? Why are you home so early?” “Jess embarrassed us,” they replied. “What’d she do?” their owner asked. “She said ‘Eeew! Get those away from me!’ when she opened our gifts! We took the time to weave baskets and fix up the broken parts!” “Oh well, someday we’ll be rich, too. She just doesn’t realize that we’re poor, hon. Maybe you shouldn't make fun of her because she’s a rich meanie and she doesn't remember being poor,” their owner responded. “Besides, not all pretty NeoPets are nice.”

The next day, guess what?!?! They won the lottery! Ha, ha, ha!
