The Chia Rebellion Part Two: The Thief

by mkjagz

SkarIX was M-A-D! Who took his Shield and why!? Who would do such a horrible thing!?!? Only one picture flashed through his mind: The Lupe. The Lupe who had annoyed him in the food shop and taken the Supersize before him. He had now taken SkarIX's Shield of Reflection. He would PAY!!! The outraged War Chia dashed outside.

He looked two ways - left and right. Which way would the Lupe have gone? And where would he be now? He thought. It was only a matter of seconds before he had it. Left, towards the woods. Lupe loved the woods. SkarIX looked down at his White Coat. He immediately wished he hadn't begged his owner for that white paintbrush. In the woods, color mattered. He ran full speed through the town to the woods. He was there in 15 seconds. He looked around for any signs of the Lupe. He could not see him. The Chia's sharp eyes fell to the ground and spotted something. He knew where the Lupe was. He followed the fresh footprints through the woods. He followed them for 30 minutes. Then they stopped. They just stopped. He jumped back just in time to avoid the pouncing Lupe, which was just a red blur. Before the Lupe had landed, SkarIX tackled him in midair. The Lupe fell to the ground. He started to get up, but stopped short as he saw the Chia lunge toward him with a heavy fist.

"Where is it?" SkarIX asked sharply.

"What?" replied the Lupe.

"What are you talking about?"

"Be quiet! I don't have time for your games. Where is it?" asked the Chia, his voice rising.

"I don't have it, whatever you are talking about."

"Give me the Shield, or you won't be able to walk and I'll find it anyway."

"Well I doubt that, since I don't even have it."

The Chia considered this. He could be telling the truth or just lying for his own safety. He made a smart decision. "I will take away my hand, but if you make one wrong move-" He made a gesture indicating the Lupe wouldn't like it.

"Why did you attack me?" asked SkarIX.

"I thought that would be obvious. I thought you were picking a fight."

"Fine. I will leave you. But if I find you lied to me, it will hurt 10 times as worse." The Lupe didn't reply. "What is your name?"

"Raivaii," growled the Lupe. "And I didn't steal your stupid shield. But I know who did. And now that you mention it-" The Lupe took off. SkarIX tore after him, but he was no match for the Lupe, even if he was faster, because he didn't know the woods like Raivaii. He lost the Lupe entirely five minutes later. He thought and thought. Who could have stolen the Shield, if not the Lupe? After another five minutes of trying to remember, SkarIX took off to the place where the Shield of Reflection was hidden--his best friend's house.
