Burnwort had just sat down on her friends floor. There was no chairs
left for her. She was late for the sleepover, because her bloop, falconblaze,
had choked on a fly, and Burnwort had to make him cough it up.
"He he he," she laughed nervously. She had never done this before and
didn't know what it was like. Were they mad at her? She wondered...
It was supposed to be a wild sleepover and the parents weren't home. But
it was silent, and they were starring at Burnwort.
"Burnwort, we were worried sick about you," they looked fearful "we're
glad you got back in one piece!"
"Geez...I was just a little late, that's all!" she stuffed some chips
in her mouth.
"That's not it! The radio said--" They stopped, the radio was going
to announce it again. "Listen!" they snapped "We at the radio station
have informed you before, but for the listeners that did not hear the
announcement, need to hear it! URGENT!" Burnwort got a little nervous.
"There is a psycho Lupe on the loose! It is capable of anything! LOCK
ALL DOORS!"
They all screamed and pulled their blankets over their heads. "We gotta
go lock the doors."
The pet that was holding the party explained, "They aren't locked yet!"
"EGADS!!!! YOU DIDN'T LOCK THE DOORS?" Burnwort shook in fear. Suddenly
the heard the door creek. They were dead silent.... Petrified. They all
scrambled for the phone. Burnwort picked it up and dialed "0".
"OH MY GOSH IT'S NOT RINGING!" she screamed. Someone put their hand
over her mouth. They whispered, "Sssshhhh...Burnwort be quite! We don't
want them to find us in the house."
"Okay..." she whispered back
They were upstairs. They last place he would probably look. It was kind
of a long way up, so they figured he would go there last. There was talk
about escaping out of the window, but what if they had just heard the
noise out of fear? Just their imagination... $100 for a window that was
broken for nothing.
"Somebody has to go see if it's really there..." they all said together.
"BURNWORT! You're the bravest! You go!"
"All right...but you get my hospital bill," she sighed. Some friends,
she thought.
Right then, the lights flickered, and finally went out. "EEK!" they screamed.
Burnwort took the only flashlight in the room and turned it on. It wasn't
very bright, but what can you do with a psycho in the house? She started
down the stairs, hearing footsteps the whole way there. She was afraid
to look back because she was afraid something was going to pounce on her.
She stood still. She was afraid to blink or even breath. She took another
step forward. She shined the flashlight on the open fridge. A whole frozen
turkey had been eaten down to the bone.
Burnwort was scared out of her mind at the time. She heard footsteps
and a cool fast breeze. She jerked her head. The curtains were moving,
like something had just jumped through them. She stepped over to the window,
verrry slowly. Peeked her head behind the curtain. The window was open.
She closed it, turned around, and there was the Lupe! It had foam all
over its mouth. It was snarling at her. It pounced on her and was about
to take a bite...then she woke up.
