I am a merchant. I sell food in the Marketplace, and it is the most horrible
job in the world, but I must to make a decent living in Neopia. I buy
food from the official store, and let me tell you it is a nightmare. People
are stampeding to get to the food, and the moment you reach out for some
onion rings or something it is snatched away. That is not the worst part
though. The prices are.
When I go to the Shop Wizard, I look for something that I got for say
6 NP, let's say some cherries. And I look for "cherries" and I see prices
like 200 NP. I feel really guilty, selling them for 150 NP (my policy
is always lower than wizard prices or else), but I do not feel there is
anything wrong, not with the low price policy at least.
Poor people! If you are really poor you do not have this problem, as
you can get free soup from that lovable Soup Faerie. If you are rich enough
to not get soup, but too poor to buy Marketplace food, I have some tips.
A) Hang around the official shop and refresh a lot. You get neat stuff
like codestones, map pieces, and Neopoints, not to mention the extremely
cheap food.
B) Repeat step A.
C) Join a support guild.
D) Ask me or someone else for some help, but ONLY IF YOU ARE IN DIRE
NEED AND YOUR PETS ARE STARVING.
Okay. Rich people! If you own a shop, please try to keep reasonable prices,
try going "1NP less than Shop Wizard average." Trust me, you will sell
very quickly and earn a lot of money. If everyone goes 1 NP lower than
the Shop Wizard average, prices will go down and things will be easier
for the less fortunate people. Don't remind me how many times I have seen
shops that charge over 400 NP for a carrot.
Middle class people! Do all of those things and everything will pan out!
