Battledome: Part Two

The First Battles

The opening ceremonies at the Battledome had commenced. The sun had risen, and the crisp morning air freshened everyone for the first day at the dome. Colorful flags and tropical fruit stands covered the streets as pets and owners arrived from all the corners of Neopia. Pets and people from places ranging anywhere from the Plane of Ultimate Good to Neopia Central to the Mines of Morria. It was clear as ever that the Battledome was open!

Suniegirl, her sisters, and her owner were scrambling to get to the Dome, and to get in! As soon as all the paperwork was filled out, the five of them got ready to battle! First up was a speed match with MapleBunny against a yellow Poogle. The loudspeaker boomed saying: "The first Speed Match for today will be between MapleBunny, a Cybunny from Neopia Central, against GoldenPupp, a Poogle from Nirvana! NeoPets, on your mark, get set, battle!!"

MapleBunny started things off. "Temporal leak!" She shouted trapping the Poogle in a bubble that would slow it down. "Rainbow Frost Cannon!" She then pounced forward and hit the stunned Poogle with a chilly rainbow beam. With firm balance and fantastic swiftness, she then leaped towards the Poogle and slashed it while flying past. With it's face hurt, it somehow managed to get out of its trapping bubble and managed to attack Maple. With great strength, the Poogle used a fireball on MapleBunny. She was knocked back, and after shaking her head a bit, was back on her feet. "Arggg...Now I'm mad!" She said screaming. "No one dares scar my beautiful fur, nobody!" With that she let a great beam of light hit the Poogle....It was instantly knocked out.

Then they heard the loudspeaker boom again: "GoldenPupp has been knocked out, MapleBunny is victorious!" MapleBunny smiled, after finally realizing she had won, she ran up to SunnieGirl, Aqualidria, AcornGal, and her owner, Lisa. Aqualidria then stood up, and got ready for her battle. The loudspeaker thundered again, "Now entering the arena, a Wocky from Neopia Central, Aqualidria! And her opponent, Kougerraly, a Kougra from the Mystery Island!"

The battle had begun. "Want to toughen things up eh? Water Jet!" Aqua shot a water jet that hit the Kougra full force. It easily got back on it's feet and roared at Aqua. She screamed back, "Oh, yeah? Ultra Bubble Beam!" Shining Metallic Bubbles popped on the Kougra's face sending it back in pain. Aqualidria stepped back and used a coral orb for her defence. She was then surrounded by a bright lavender bubble. Running quickly and firmly, she then pounced on the Kougra and bit it. It raised its paw, and out of breath, shouted, "I surrender!" Aqua smiled, and after she was declared the winner, she went back to her sisters and owner.

It was SunnieGirl's turn now....She was grinning and had a twinge of delight and excitement in her eyes. After she was introduced to her opponent, which was a rather fragile Kiko, they began the battle. Using all of her energy, she built up an enormous sphere of lightning around her wings. With it charged full of voltage, she screamed confidently, "Grand Lightning Beam!" The ball of energy flew towards the Kiko, hitting it full force. Sunnie gasped and panted, after using up so much energy, but she was lucky, because the Kiko was knocked out. Four other battles continued easily, and SunnieGirl won time after time, building up her strength and confidence. But, after the fourth battle, a large silver dragon appeared in the arena, and grinned evilly, ready to fight.....
