"It's almost 3 o'clock. She should have been home by now," SweetDream
said as she waited for her owner to come home from school. The blue Kacheek
sat down in front of the window looking up and down the street for her
beloved owner. All of a sudden there was a loud slam from the back of
the house. The sound was followed by steps running up the stairs. What
is going on? SweetDream thought. Usually Cassady her owner got them a
snack and played a game after she got home and before she started homework.
SweetDream found her owner in her room crying. "What's wrong, Cassady?"
the Kacheek asked. "I juu-stt found out Mark is sick and needs a transplant
to live!" she sobbed. Mark was Cassady's boyfriend of 2 years. His family
just found he had a terrible illness and had told her when they found
out.
*RING* went the phone. Cassady picked up the phone next to her bed as
she dried her tears. "Hello? . . . Oh hi! Of course I'll go. Sure no problem.
When is it? . . . yea . . . OK I'll be there. Thank you. Bye." Cassady
turned to her NeoPet. "That was Mark's mom. She said there is a possibility
I can donate and save Mark," Cassady said smiling a little. "Why would
you want to give up something to save someone?" SweetDream asked. Cassady
chuckled, "You'll understand when you meet someone you really care about.
I have to go to the doctor's now and get some tests done. I'll be back
in a few hours, so I'll leave some food for you and you can go outside
since you've probably been inside all day."
Later . . .
SweetDream was taking a walk through the woods behind the house. She
pulled out a peach and a cheese and tomato sub when she reached the brook
where she decided to have her lunch. Suddenly there was a rustling in
the bushes behind her. "Who is there?" SweetDream asked getting a tad
nervous. Suddenly all went black.
"Look she is coming to," came a voice as SweetDream sat up. "Where am
I? What's going on?" She was in a cage, and before her stood a black Lupe
and a black Kacheek "You, young Kacheek, have been chosen as the bride
for our leader," said the Lupe "WHAT?!?!? I want to go home!" SweetDream
shouted as she looked around. "I see she woke up, Aiden and Darien," said
a voice behind her. She quickly turned around and saw the oldest Kougra
ever. "What do you want me for and where am I?" SweetDream asked. "Why
the Mysterious Island of course. When I visited the mainland, I learned
you are from a rich family, which you know. But what you don't know is
that you are the princess and heir to the throne of the kingdom Estrella.
With that much power I can rule the world!" her capture and now future
husband replied. "Now, boys, bring our lovely guest to her room, and,
Aiden, you start planning for the wedding and you, Darien, will watch
our guest and make sure she does not leave before the wedding takes place,"
Lanctin said. "Yes, sir," the two said as she was taken from her cage
and up a long flight of steps.
"Please let me go," SweetDream begged Darien the black Kacheek her guard
as the two sat in her room. It was beautifully furnished and like a dream
come true, but she wanted to go back home to Cassady who was probably
worried about her beloved pet.
Back at Cassady's house . . .
"SweetDream, I'm home! . . . SweetDream? Where are you?" Cassady called
to her pet. "I hope she is okay. Maybe she will be back by tomorrow,"
Cassady said to herself as she went upstairs thinking of her NeoPet and
boyfriend. But of course, SweetDream didn't return home.
"Good morning," said her guard Darien. SweetDream woke up to see what
her room was like. It was in beautiful shades of blue and green. There
was a canopy bed, a dresser, a closet full of beautiful clothes, and a
lovely bathroom. Sun shown in through the windows and skylights that overlooked
the sea. Her guard sat in a chair near the door. She was shocked to see
he was as young as she and quite handsome. "How did you become a guard
here?" she asked. "I am an orphan. I was found by Sir Lanctin and became
a guard for him," Darien replied, "I don't like being so cruel and wish
to leave, but I can't so I am going to help you escape. I knew at once
when I saw you that you were special and couldn't give you up to that
cruel ruler."
Later that day Darien helped SweetDream escape and she ran to the woods
near the castle she was held captive in. Suddenly two guards appeared
talking. "Have you heard what happened to Darien? Poor kid. He helped
that princess escape and was caught. Sir Lanctin is going to have him
killed for disobeying him," the guard told the other. "Oh no!" SweetDream
whispered. She had started feeling something for the handsome, dark guard
as he helped her escape. "I must go back and help him!"
"He should be around here some where," SweetDream said. She opened a
door and peered inside. Inside was a beautiful garden full of flowers,
trees, birds, streams, and fountains. In the middle was a tree with Darien
tied to it. As she approached, SweetDream saw that he was gagged and chained.
He was struggling to say something. "I knew you would return, darling,"
Lanctin said. She had fallen into a trap. SweetDream ran to Darien and
suddenly there was a giant flash. There was a terrible scream and then
everything went black.
"Hello there sleepy heads," came a friendly familiar voice. SweetDream
opened her eyes. There stood Mark and Cassady. "Where am I? What happened?
Where is Darien? SweetDream turned and saw she was in her room back at
home. Darien laid in a bed next to hers. "Your love for each other defeated
the evil," Cassady said,"and it saved your lives. And our love for each
other will save Mark's life, I can give him what he needs to live. "True
love overcomes all," Mark said as Darien looked at her and smiled. Everything
was working out for the best and SweetDream understood why Cassady would
give part of herself for love.
Epilogue . . .
A few years later . . . Cassady and Mark had married. Mark's operation
was a success and the couple had a baby on the way. SweetDream and Darien
were very much in love. They lived in the castle of Estrella as the rightful
rulers of the kingdom. Mark and Cassady lived in a part of the kingdom
as advisors. The Kacheeks had two daughters and a son. And, guess what?
They all lived happily ever after!
