It's happening every day. Items
are rapidly decreasing in value and price. Competition in the shops is
fierce; everyone is battling it out to have the cheapest prices. In a
matter of hours, many items fall from 2000 NPs to 350 NPs. There is much
speculation about this deflation. For instance, many of you may have noticed
the Chicken Roll, valued at 90,000 NPs, is now selling around 250 NPs.
What a decrease! It's now possible to feed your pets great food for low
prices. This doesn't apply to all items such as Faeries. But it won't
be long until all items, including Faeries, will sink in value fast. Take
the new paint brushes for example--50,000 NP to 2,500 NP in less than
four days.
So what's my point? I'll tell
you. For those who own shops and are a part of the daily battle of trying
to turn a profit, selling your items quickly is critical. The faster you
get rid of stuff in your store, the more money you're going to make. But
it's not going to be a lot of money. Say you have a size 50 shop, and
you really want to fill it up before selling anything, you're looking
at a loss in profits. Most items that you will try to sell will lose their
value quickly. It's a fact here in Neopia. An easy way to find out is
by checking the wizard to see what something is worth. You can check the
item again a few days later and you'll see that the item's value has dropped
significantly. If that is the case, don't wait to sell your items--sell
them quickly! And, if you want to get the most for your money, you can't
be patient. You have to sell your items before the going price goes any
lower (check the wizard).
You may have noticed that the
site has been throwing in some new items, such as the wonderful Paint
Brushes. It's also speculated that they are doing this, not only to give
more selection, but to try and balance this dramatic decrease in item
prices. In the future we may see that common items will soon become rare,
or we may be able to purchase an expensive item for very cheap. We can't
exactly predict that far into the future, but we can predict that prices
will continue to drop steadily.
