Your #1 Travel Guide - Mystery Island

by muas

Hello there, and welcome to the first edition of Your #1 Travel Guide. In these editions, we'll be taking a look at the worlds that surround Neopia - from the creepy caverns of the Haunted Woods to the bright and shining and floating Faerieland.

In this edition, we'll be journeying to that most classic of worlds, the first world ever discovered - Mystery Island! So sit back and enjoy the ride.

When you first jump off your boat to the Mystery Island harbor, the sounds of mysterious drumming beats, the sight of tropical flowers and tall trees, and the smells of delicious fruit and yummy food all overwhelm your senses.

Right next to the harbor, the friendly shopkeeper of the Tiki Tack souvenir shop beckons to you. If you enter, you'll find yourself surrounded with cheap, high-quality souvenirs to take home as a record of your trip. From sailboats to visors to magnets, Tiki Tack has all you could ever want.

Looking to do a little business during your stay? Head directly ahead to the Trading Post, a safe and enjoyable way to conduct trades of items and Neopoints with other users. Browse lots, make offers, and put items up for trade here. A little bit beyond the harbor is the Tiki Tours building, where, for a tiny fee, you can take a fascinating tour of this tropical wonderland. Meet the lovely Aisha natives, encounter the fun-loving Kougra, and check out the famous Techo Mountain. Don't forget to grab some free stuff when you leave, like some buttons to show how cool you are!

If you're traveling with some pets, you might want to consider stopping by the Training School. You can get your pet's stats up in the wonderful surroundings, all for the price of just one or more Codestones. Your pet will love being taught by some of the most famous instructors in history, and you'll enjoy watching him or her have fun while learning, too.

After you've trained, it's time to test your skills in the Mystery Island Battledome! Practice in the one-player Dome before moving on to challenge other pets from all over Neopia.

After all that training and fighting, you'll need a break, and the Island Techo's Tropical Fruit Shop offers it. Sit in one of the bamboo chairs and munch on a Phear or a Scabu, while feasting your eyes on the wide array of plants to enjoy. Don't forget to bring some home for your friends to try!

Next, you can enjoy the sights and sounds of the Island with the addictive quality of shopping in the Mystery Island marketplace. Hundreds of vendors come every day to sell their wares at cheap prices.

Next you can check out the ancient relics of the Sacrificers Game. Underneath a giant golden statue, you can relive this exciting game, in which Pop Tart emerged with an incredible victory and the others were...not so lucky.

From there, you might want to grab a canoe and row out to meet the Island Mystic in his little hut. This friendly, if eccentric, fellow will give you your fortune once a day, and you can come back once every day to learn of the future.

After all that excitement, why not stir up a little more? Bring your food to Jhuidah, the Island Faerie, and try mixing them up to create fascinating combinations. If you get the right mixture, you'll have a fun little hybrid to sell or eat. Rumour has it that you can also combine pet pets!

If you're hankering for a little adventure, why not join the intrepid Techo and his Poogle sidekick Blooplum on a fascinating journey through the jungles of the Island? Just watch out for those vengeful Cocos and you may find an amazing treasure!

There's tons to see and do in the Mystery Island - you may want to stay for days and days. In fact, why not do what I did, and get a house there? That way you can enjoy the sights and sounds every day from your very own bamboo hut!
