Plushies Galore: Part Four

"What's that dripping noise?" asked Spotty.

"I can't hear anything," I replied.

"Listen," he said.

"I'm sure its nothing, c'mon, hurry up!" I said.

But I was about to be proved wrong, big time! As we advanced, the corridor became slippery. There was a little stream running down the center of the passage. Soon we were tracking through deep water.

I said the Earth Faerie, amidst coughing up water, "We have to get out of here! We'll be drowned, your Faerieness!!"

"Hold on, as I summon my sister, Uber Faerie of Fire!!!" she said.

When she finished chanting her mystical verse, I ball of fire appeared. This ball soon took the shape of the Uber Fire Faerie. Knowing what to do, she set the corridor ablaze with her heat and evaporated all the water.

"I guess I should join you in your journey since I'm here" said the Fire Faerie, "For you might need my heat again!"

So now our league consisted of 258 Plushies and four Uber Faeries.

"Hurry, let's go, before disaster strikes again!" said Spotty. Everyone hurried on. RainZ's trail (or what hadn't been washed or burned away) was getting stronger. It was also getting darker and gloomier. We came upon a sign that said "CAVE OF ETERNAL DARKNESS".

"What's this?" I questioned the Faeries.

"Ahh, this, my friend, is the Dark Faerie Central Chamber. Very few Neopians have come out of here alive. Your comrade is most likely being held in this room."

"Let's go and save RainZ!" I said, a bit nervously. What was I getting myself into?

Our Fire Meerca opened the door for us and we peeked inside. No one was in sight. This room has huge! We could have easily fit a full three-story NeoHome inside! All of us scrambled in, peering through the dim, purple light cast by the torches on the ceiling. Suddenly, the door shut behind us with a bang. A Fire Grarrl Plushie tried to pry it open, but that door was stuck. While we were looking around the room for another door or something, RainZ was discovered.

When we came across him, he was unconscious. He had been tied up with a potato sack over his head. He quickly came to when an Electric Kau Plushie zapped him.

"RainZ, RainZ, are you okay?" I said.

"Get.....out.......of.......here!" he said between gasps, "It's.....a....trap!"

Before anyone of us could react, we were surrounded. Millions of evil faeries swarmed and enveloped us in a sea of darkness. What was going to happen to us???

The Faeries got prepared for a battle. The Fire Faerie got her Orb heated. The Air Faerie polished her wand. The Earth Faerie brought out her staff. But the Light Faerie, the most important one, was nowhere to be seen.

All of a sudden, the Dark Faeries attacked. They sent their swirling masses of purple straight towards the Uber Faeries. They fought back. The Uber Faeries blocking each blow, but they were evidently getting weaker. Just as they were about to faint, the yellow searing light from a nova illuminated the room. The Dark Faeries stopped their attack, as they were blinded by the flash. They all crawled to their exit from the cave.

The nova soon took shape of the Light Faerie. With her was a light purple beam of light. The Faerie Queen!

The purple beam came towards us in a flash. The Queen cast a spell and us inside separate Blueberry Faerie Bubbles. We all drifted towards the ceiling.

Now, the Uber Dark Faerie entered the scene.

"Luchia Morathous, Uber Faerie of the Dark, surrender now, or pay greatly....." said the Queen in a stern tone.

"Us dark ones have been discriminated long enough, it's time for revenge!" she replied, "I shall not surrender until my goal is fulfilled!"

"Fine then. I have no choice," said the Queen. With that, she closed her eyes, spun three times and faced the Uber Faerie. There was a blinding white flash that filled the whole room. It hit our bubbles, making them pop. We were falling........and falling.......into what seemed a bottomless pit. The next thing I knew, I was in my normal NeoPet state, laying in a cloud bed.

"What happened? Where is the Queen?" I asked, to no one in particular, "What happened in that cave???"

"Everyone is fine, dear" said my Elephante nurse. "Don't worry, all you need is rest. You will be receiving your medals tomorrow."

"Medals?" I asked, surprised.

"Yes, medals. And a complete Faerie banquet in the honour of you and your comrades. But rest now, you need your strength!" she said.

With those happy thoughts whizzing through my mind, I fell asleep. I was awakened the next morning by RainZ.

"Hey, dude, wake up! Time to go to the Faerieland Castle!" he said.

"Five more minutes......" I began.

"GET UP NOW!" he insisted, then he said, "You don't want to miss all that food, you do?"

OK, I am not a pig at parties, but I hadn't eaten since the day I had been captured. RainZ probably hadn't eaten for even longer. So, that definitely got me out of bed!

But I still hadn't figured out what exactly had happened in that cave. I tried to question RainZ, maybe his nurse had been more informative. But he replied that he didn't know, and probably no one else did, except for the Faerie Queen. I guess we were to learn at the banquet!

It turned out that not only were we going to go to the Faerieland Castle, but we were also going to the Faerie Queen's private wing! We felt for honoured because no NeoPets had ever gone there before.

All of us gathered in the main hall. Once the Faerie Queen came to the podium, all fell silent. She began......

"As many of you know, this banquet is being held in the honour of Cacilla, RainZ32, Spotty_Spot and all the rest of the rescued NeoPets They displayed ultimate bravery in their escape to freedom. Without them, I don't think that we could have stopped Luchia Morathous' evil plan. I destroyed her power and banished her to the Ultimate Plain of Evil for eternity, once her league had been weakened. I used the fabled Light Box, which has been locked away in my tower for centuries. I shall grant each one of the NeoPets a Faerie Medal of Courage and 1,000,000 NP. Cacilla, RainZ32, and Spotty_Spot, the three leaders, shall have their names and brave deeds craved into the Faerieland Hall of Fame. I hope you all have a wonderful day, and that such an evil plot will never reoccur again."

All of us burst into cheer. A Faerie Medal of Courage? Only the bravest generals in the Chia and Lupe War got those! And now we, regular little NeoPets, were getting FAERIE MEDALS OF COURAGE? None of us could believe it. But it sure was true.

The Faerie Queen called all of our names in alphabetical order, to receive our medals and checks. When the medal was pinned to my chest, I felt absolutely glorious! Who wouldn't? This was one of the happiest days of my life!

When the party was over, we were all sent home. I had an emotional reunion with my family. They had been so worried! I had been gone for nearly three days. I was very happy and so glad so be home at last. I told my sisters the WHOLE story.

Oh yea, now don't you DARE show me a Dark Faerie in a jar. Trust me.......
