GAMES ROOM - Hi everyone, I'm back with more tips and strategies to getting trophies. I'm still going to be writing about the competitions this week.

Pet Spotlight

This trophy is for your pet. If you like to write, you should go for this trophy. The object of the spotlight is to give special attention to a special pet. You have to write about why your pet(s) should win the spotlight. You can write a story, a poem, or anything. You can even send your own pictures. Make sure you send your entries to spotlight@neopets.com.

Petpet Spotlight

This trophy is exactly the same as the pet spotlight, but the award goes on your user lookup. The mailing address for this is petpets@neopets.com.

Site Spotlight

Did you know every pet gets their own webpage? You can view and edit your pet's webpage by going here. http://www.neopets.com/edithomepage.phtml. If you know how to build a webpage, this competition is for you. If you don't know how to build a webpage, you can learn some HTML here. http://www.neopets.com/help/html1.phtml. If you have spent a long time making your page nice, you can send it to fansites@neopets.com to see if your page is worthy to win the site spotlight. Make sure your site still has to do with Neopets though. The sites are judged by the Neopets staff.

Storytelling Contest

Do you like to tell stories? Well, then this competition is for you. Each week, there is a new storytelling competition. You are given a short paragraph and you have to write the next part of the story. If your portion of the story is picked, you will get a trophy. You can get to the contest by going here. http://www.neopets.com/art/storytell.phtml

Beauty Contest

Are you good at drawing/making pictures? Even if you aren't good, you can still enter this contest with a fair chance of winning. You are allowed to take a picture and modify it, but simply copying a picture is not allowed. Simply submit a picture you have made and it will be put up automatically. The contests are held every week and start Mondays at 4:00 NST. There are trophies for every species. If you are in the top three of your species, you will win a trophy for your pet. Getting votes can be tough. Some people like to advertise in their shops, on their user lookups and they tell their friends. Quite a few people 'trade' votes on the chat boards. Again, if you are under 13, this is not a possibility for you. A good way to get votes is to get a few votes right when the contest starts. You might appear on the top for a short while and people like to vote for the pets that are leading. If you are very high on the high score tables, winning the beauty contest can be very simple, almost unstoppable. There are some good cash prizes to be won. You can enter a picture here. http://www.neopets.com/beauty/upload.phtml

Poetry Contest

Well, this kind of speaks for itself. Write a long poem or a series of poems and submit them to poems@neopets.com. If the Neopets staff like the poem, you can win a trophy. Make sure the poems are about Neopets though!

Picture Competition

This is kind of like the beauty contest but your work has to be 100% original. That means you can't take a picture and change it. This too is judged by the Neopets staff. Submit your entries to pics@neopets.com.

Neopian Times Trophy

If you submit an article to The Neopian Times, you can get a trophy if it's picked. Try to be original and write about something Neopets related. You can write short stories, a series, comics, and game guides. Send your entries to neopiantimes@neopets.com

Book Award

It costs quite a bit of NPs to get this trophy. The object is simple; you get 1 point for every book your pet has read. The pets that have read the most books get an award. This competition is a little unfair because of which books your pet can read. There is a relation between the title of the books your pet won't read and the length of your pet's name. If your pet's name is of length m then it will reject books of length 2(m+1) and 2(m+1)+1. Also, if the title of the book is of length n, then your pet will not read books of length (n/2)-1. Note: n/2 is rounded up if it results in a half. You can visit the Book Award here. http://www.neopets.com/book_award.phtml

Gourmet Club

Again, it costs quite a bit of NPs to get this trophy. The object is similar to the book award. You get 1 point for every 'gourmet' food your pet eats. A gourmet food has a rarity of 90 - 100. You can check the rarity of an item in your inventory by clicking on it. You can also check the rarities of other items by putting their names in the yellow search bar located on the bottom left of the side bar. This competition is also tough because you have to find the names of the gourmet foods or get a list. Like reading books, your pet's name determines the food that your pet will and will not eat. Your pet will not eat foods that have the same number, or twice the number, of characters as their name. You can visit the Gourmet club here. http://www.neopets.com/gourmet_club.phtml

That's all for the competitions. Next time: Deckswabber and Grundo Snowthrow.
