The Return of Triano: Part Five

by flipp_garuda

Untitled Document It has been a while since Atkiera's been with us, and things have calmed down. Everyone has taken more time to see what's going on in the world and when, which is much better than just doing things on impulse or revenge, if you ask me.

But I am beginning to distrust that Mareni; he just doesn't hit me as someone who can be trusted. But, of course, I can never tell Triano that, he'll have me in the Pound faster than I can twitch the tip of my tail. So, I suppose I will have to keep my suspicions to myself, no matter how strong they are.

With the rest of the bunch, I'd say that Atkiera is the most innocent, as well as the most unwanted. She reminds me strongly of Yokit, and I have put it upon myself to protect her. Triano, though, finds that, though she is strong, she does little more than play all day and will not listen to using her strengths to Triano's advantage. Triano still loves the little kitten, though, but how long that will last, I can never be sure. All I know is that Mareni is getting suspicious of her, and also of me. Rhinopox is not much of a concern since he is more than willing to help, and not intelligent enough to sell the information he has acquired.

I suppose it's just a matter of time before this entire project implodes upon itself. At least I'll be able to see the fireworks.

     Bzzt… Bzzt… KABOOM!

"Looks like Gryphon got another gift she wants us to make use of… A Robot Harris and a Gremble? What is this?" I demanded as I opened a box of things from Gryphon one morning.

     Dear Tri,

Please take care of these petpets and remember to say thank you to Poy222 for allowing us to have that Robot Harris you've got there. The Gremble is for Gavdrael, I thought he might want a little more sanity than just all of you. How is he faring, anyway? and the rest of them? Ah, well, I'm sure that little Harris can be of service to you… You can give it to Rhinopox, maybe he'll use it to remember things for him, be a bit of an organizer. I've got to say goodbye now; Deadele is eating the plants again…

-^GS^-

I muttered angrily as I read her letter. Give Gavdrael that Gremble? And a robot Harris to Rhinopox? The Gremble will be neglected, I'm sure, and the Harris will probably be smashed to bits by Rhinopox. Oh, well, Gryphon will probably come by for her monthly check-up and will give them their petpets, anyway.

Gavdrael was, as usual, emotionless when I gave him his Gremble, Garvyi. Rhino was, on the other hand, ecstatic when he received his little robot pal.

"What's your name, little guy?" Rhino asked the Harris excitedly.

"Correction: Bzzt I am female. My bzzt name is bzzt Rhikada. I am able to store bzzt anything within my bzzt vast memory bzzt capacity bzztbzzt." Rhikada the Robot Harris replied in her robotic voice.

"That's wonderful!" Rhino exclaimed, but I doubt he heard any of it.

A while later, the petpets were making both good and bad use of themselves. Oceana, Atkiera's Primella, just liked to know what everyone was doing, and was always looking over everyone's shoulder, usually Atkiera's or my own. Garvyi, Gavdrael's Gremble, spied and walked around silently, looking at everything that went on and would generally make a nuisance of himself by turning off programs before they were saved on our guild and HQ computers. However, no one could shut down Rhikada. She was able to store anything given, even images. She could relay messages in anyone's exact voice and could project images from her eyes. She was an excellent addition to our team.

However, even robotic petpets endure the stress of day-to-day life, and Rhikada was getting plenty of it. The fact that Garvyi couldn't switch her off and delete all unsaved information made her a perfect storage unit for everything we needed to keep in a computer. Unfortunately, after a few weeks of this, she had had enough, but was not able to say so until she entered our meeting one day, sparking all over.

"I bzzt cannot bzzt work bzzt any bzzt longer BZZT." She said robotically. "I am bzzt terribly bzzt sorry bzzt to bzzt disappoint bzzt you bzztbzztbzzt. But I am bzztbzzt overloaded bzzt. I can take bzzt no more bzztbzzt information, bzzt not even bzzt regular bzzt functions bzzt. Good bzzt bye." And before any of us could react, there was a loud KABOOM! As Rhikada exploded, sending wires, metal and random other parts flying everywhere in a cloud of smoke and sparks.

"NO!" Rhinopox was crying. "Rhikada! My poor Rhikada!" He gathered up her pieces and put them in a pile, which he cried over unashamedly. To my ultimate surprise, Gavdrael walked silently over and patted Rhino's bulky shoulder. He then knelt down and gathered up the pieces of the little Robot Harris. If it were anyone else who had done that, I'm sure Rhinopox would have tackled him or her instantly, but Gavdrael had an air of purpose about him concerning everything he did, and so he was able to take what remained of Rhikada and walk off to who-knows-where.

It was a few days later, and with no Gavdrael in sight, that he came back. In the Scorchio's black-cloaked arms, he carried a happy-looking Robot Harris, who scanned the area in wonderment. Rhinopox, at that time, was not to be consoled, and he made that clear. He would not decide any ways to attack places like the Darigan Citadel (Outlast signed us up with Meridell for the war, ugh…) or the Tyrannian Town Hall. Now, however, the Tonu was ecstatic as he jumped up and tackled Gavdrael in happiness. He screamed his thanks tons of times and then scooped up his new-and-improved petpet, which more memory than before.

From the Desk of Triano
It seems that our flimsy group is assembled, and I will try not to allow many more to join our forces, as I think I have enough of them to worry about at the current time. Now, however, it is more a fight to find out the best way to approach my master plan - to take over Neopia and put the petpets in charge and give the Neopets a tiny little, unnoticed box at the bottom of the lookup screen! MWAHAHAHAHAHA- I need some more cough drops….

The End

Author's Note: PLEASE send feedback, I love it. =) And feel free to check out Outlast's Petpage for updates on Triano's progress… Which is very slow, I might add. (And thanks to Poy222 for giving me Rhikada… It seems like all Triano's petpet "friends" are gifts… Strange. o.O)
