Doomsday Rider VII: Military Intelligence - Part One

by yugo149

Sirens blared and scientists ran like mad. "Run you cowards!" a human-like creature yelled out.

"Why are you doing this?" a scientist called out to the creature.

"Why am I doing this?!" the creature yelled out. "WHY AM I DOING THIS?! You cowards only created me for your inane experiments!"

"That's not true, M-I!" the scientist shouted.

"Liar!" M-I shouted in reply. "If you didn't create me only for experiments, then why am I the only life form with a dual brain?!"

"Because we wanted you to be the most intelligent life form of all time," the scientist answered.

"You speak the truth?" M-I calmly asked. The scientist only nodded in silent reply. Suddenly, M-I gripped his head in agony. "Arrgh! What is happening to me?!" M-I yelled, and then there was nothing but blackness. M-I's dream was over. M-I's eyes slowly slid open. He was in a tank of cryogenic fluid. M-I slowly uncrossed his arms.

"M-I is awakening!" A scientist rang out to pierce the silence. Soon, a flock of scientists were staring at M-I in his cryogenic tube. M-I only looked at them in amazement. "Go see if Kromanè is awake yet," the scientist commanded. The scientist pressed a button at the base of the cryogenic tube and the fluid drained from it and the glass slowly slid into the ceiling.

"Why do you people keep referring to me as M-I?" M-I asked, stepping onto the floor.

"Because that's your name," the scientist replied. "It stands for Military Intelligence. You were created to be the ultimate weapon in wars."

"What?" M-I asked, not quite understanding what the scientist had just said.

"Not only are you the most powerful being ever introduced to Neopia, but you're also the smartest. And in addition to having numerous attacks that we have seen certain NeoPets use, you have a very unique ability," the scientist explained.

"And what might that ability be?" M-I asked.

"The ability to merge with your NeoPet, a genetically engineered mutant Buzz named Kromanè. When you fuse together with him, you become Ienou, the Embodiment of Destruction," the scientist explained, babbling on about things M-I really didn't care about. "Oh, by the way, your special clothes are over there," the scientist said, pointing toward a rack of strange looking clothing. M-I walked over to it and donned the clothes. There was a gray jersey, black shorts that went down to about M-I's knees, two golden gauntlets, and a red headband. A few moments later, Kromanè flew into the room. He landed skillfully beside M-I.

"Now, what are all of my abilities?" M-I asked.

"Your abilites are Kanena, Bioshock, Phoenix Rising, Dark Kanena, Kanena Spear, Solar Wind, Fang Sniper, and the fusion with Kromanè."

"All right then," M-I said. "I'll be taking Kromanè and leaving this place."

"You can't yet," the scientist argued.

     "And why not?" M-I demanded.

"Because your body isn't fully functional yet."

     "I don't care," M-I snapped.

"Listen, M-I, you're staying here and that is that!" the scientist yelled out.

"I am not!" M-I shouted. M-I held his open palms toward the scientist. "Bioshock!" he yelled, firing black electricity at the scientist. He dropped to the floor, unconscious. M-I turned toward the door and began to walk out while the other scientists began trying to revive their fallen friend. "You should not anger me," M-I whispered.

While M-I was being created, I was enjoying a "normal" life. Yugo, Psychodogg, and Lupe_flaer_13190 had taken some of us to the park. Boomdogg, Lotta80088, and I were all goofing around while Yugo and Psychodogg played Rock, Paper, Scissors hundreds of times without a winner.

"Haven't your hands gotten sore yet?" Lupe Flaer asked as she watched Yugo and Psychodogg.

"Nope," they answered in unison, continuing their game.

"I cannot believe I'm friends with these two," Lupe Flaer muttered to herself.

Three weeks later...

"Those scientist were nothing but a bunch of cowards," M-I said as he returned to the place where he had been created. "I think I'll turn this into our fortress."

"You should, M-I," Kromanè said. "We would be able to turn it into one enormous puzzle."

"Yes, we could do that. Or we could turn it into a hangar," M-I said.

     "How about both?" Kromanè asked.

"I like that idea. Very well, that will be what we do with this fortress," M-I said. "Only one obstacle prevents us from doing that."

"And what might that be?" Kromanè asked.

"We require an energy source capable of putting out thousands of volts of power in an instant," M-I explained.

"I know of some things that can do that. One of them is in the Mystical Ruins on the other side of Neopia," Kromanè said.

"But how might we get to the Mystical Ruins?" M-I demanded.

"Where they had me, they had a two piece hovercraft. It consisted of a flying chair and the lower half of a pod that it could attach to," Kromanè answered.

"Interesting..." M-I said, considering the idea. "Yes, take me to the hovercraft."

"This way," Kromanè said, flying to another part of the hangar with M-I following close behind.

5:39PM NST: Mystical Ruins
"Here is what I told you about," Kromanè said, leading M-I to an enormous red jewel. "It is known as the Rubystone."

"Excellent," M-I said, picking up the Rubystone. "How many more of these are there?"

     "Only three more," Kromanè answered.

"Wrong!" A deep voice yelled out. M-I and Kromanè turned their attention to where the sound had come from. There, with a Fire and Ice Blade, was a white Shoyru with one missing eye.

     "Who are you?" M-I asked.

"I am Sabre, and you're not getting that Sacred Gemstone. I'll make sure of that," he answered.

"I seriously doubt it," M-I said, sneering. "Kromanè, destroy him."

"Yes," Kromanè said, bowing, then turning his attention back to Sabre. "Prepare to meet your demise."

"Don't bet on it," Sabre answered, raising his Fire and Ice Blade. Kromanè rushed Sabre, propelled by his wings, Sabre side-stepped Kromanè's attack and slashed him on the chest as he shot by. Kromanè stopped a few feet later, gripping his chest in pain. Kromanè fell to one knee and tried to explain what had just happened.

"I-impossible," Kromanè said to himself, looking at the fresh blood on his chest, just above his stomach. "It had to have just been a fluke. No more games," Kromanè said as he stood back up. He turned back to Sabre and wiped the rest of the blood away from his injury.

"I don't suppose you're giving up yet," Sabre said, cracking a bit of a smile at how weak Kromanè was compared to him.

"Well you're right. I'm not going to give up," Kromanè said, his blood red eyes glinting in the sunlight.

"Well, then don't expect to defeat me," Sabre said, raising his Fire and Ice Blade again.

"Oh, I'll win, there's no doubt about it!" Kromanè shouted, beginning to cackle.

Let's just see what you're made of, Sabre thought to himself.

"Eat this!" Kromanè shouted, generating thousands of tiny energy balls and firing them at Sabre. Sabre deflected all of the energy balls that came at him, and slowly moved toward Kromanè while the energy attacks kept firing. Sabre grinned while deflecting a few more energy balls, then vanished and appeared behind Kromanè. Kromanè only managed to catch a glimpse of Sabre before he was defeated.

"Hrarr!" Sabre shouted, firing an attack exactly like the Kanena at Kromanè's back, sending him sprawling at least twenty yards. "Aww, I thought sure he'd be much stronger than that," he said, glancing at the defeated Buzz. Kromanè's eyes were blank and his right leg was twitching rapidly. M-I was staring at Kromanè in utter disbelief.

"As for you..." Sabre said, turning his attention to M-I. "Hand over the Rubystone and there won't be any more trouble." M-I hurriedly threw the Rubystone at Sabre.

"Here, take it, but I'll be back for it, mark my words, I'll be back for it!" M-I shouted, disappearing in a flash of blue with the defeated Kromanè.

"That was far too easy. That can't possibly be the full wrath of the military intelligence and his genetically engineered Buzz. Well at any rate, the time has come, to gather the other Sacred Gemstones and put an end to this before it happens," Sabre said, leaving with the Rubystone tucked under his arm.

At M-I's Fortress...

"I can't believe it!" M-I shouted, slamming his fists against a control panel. "That Shoyru defeated Kromanè without even being touched!" He shouted, glancing at the cryogenic tube that contained Kromanè. "He will pay dearly for this insolence! He will not last fifteen seconds against my wrath!"

Ungh, what happened? Kromanè thought to himself. The last thing I remember is fighting Sabre, and then I ended up here. Kromanè slowly slid his eyes open, spotting M-I to his far right. He reached up toward his face and ripped the oxygen mask off, and shattered the glass with his fist. He jumped down from where the tube once stood, the green cryogenic fluid still dripping from his skin. "We may have been defeated by that 'Sabre' as he calls himself, but I'm sure if we become Ienou he will not stand a chance," Kromanè said.

"Perhaps, but doing so would take too much energy. If we plan to defeat Sabre, we must defeat him in our own arena," M-I explained.

"Well, then we must go after the next Sacred Gemstone and hope that we are not defeated," Kromanè said. "Our next target is the Jadestone."

"Where is that Gemstone located?" M-I asked.

"The records show that it is in the possession of a young blue Shoyru with astounding power," Kromanè said.

To be continued...

Next time on Doomsday Rider VII: Military Intelligence, M-I and Kromanè go after the Jadestone, which is in Rider's possession. Afterwards, Sabre makes himself known to the heroes. He is truly powerful, but which side is he on?
